Gauge and Stitch Style
Use a tight amigurumi tension so the stuffing does not show. With a 3.0 mm hook, 6 sc across and 6 rounds high should measure about 1 inch. The sample in the image has compact, even stitches with visible horizontal rounds, so avoid working loosely.
The body should feel firm but not hard. Stuff gradually as you crochet, shaping the front into a rounded oval and keeping the back slightly flatter so the doll can sit against a surface. The apron will cover the lower front, but the green sides and black stripes should remain visible.
Important Color Placement
- The doll body is mostly green with a soft lime front and slightly darker green sides.
- Two black stripes wrap around the lower body, one near the upper belly and one near the waist area.
- The eyes are large cream ovals with raised yellow rims.
- The eyelids are yellow domes placed above and around the eye whites.
- The antennae are black and tall, leaning slightly outward.
- The arms and legs are cream, long, narrow, and rounded with no fingers or toes.
- The apron is beige with a bib, shoulder straps, two buttons, a lower double-pocket section, and embroidered garden flowers.
- The strawberry bag is red with green top leaves and white seed stitches, hanging from a green crossbody strap.
- The sandals are tan with blue-gray straps and tiny yellow-and-black bee decorations.
- The straw hat is tan, wide-brimmed, and decorated with a floral band plus small flowers.
Main Green Bee Body and Head
The head and body are one large seated oval. Start at the top of the head and work downward. Change colors where noted to create the black bee stripes. Keep the round marker at the back center so stripe joins are less visible.

Sew one tiny bee to the top of each sandal strap. Add a small white puff beside the bee by making MR, 5 sc in ring, sl st to close, then sew it at the toe area.
Transparent Wings
The image shows clear, delicate wings with visible vein lines. To match that look, use clear vinyl, clear plastic packaging, or firm transparent organza. A fully crocheted wing will look softer, but the clear material gives the closest result.

Wing Shape, Make 4 Clear Panels
- Cut two larger upper wing panels about 3.75 inches long and 1.75 inches wide.
- Cut two smaller lower wing panels about 3 inches long and 1.25 inches wide.

- At the outer rounded tip, work 2 sc in the same hole to help the edge lie flat.
- Sl st to the first sc. FO and weave in carefully.
Layer one large wing above one small wing on each side. Sew the wing bases to the back sides of the doll around R29-R37. The wings should point outward and slightly upward, visible beside the arms and apron.

Flatten the brim gently with your fingers. If needed, mist lightly with water and pin the brim flat until dry. Do not over-stiffen; the hat should still look like soft crocheted straw.
Hat Band
- With white or floral ribbon-colored yarn, ch 42.
- R1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. 41 sts.

- Make 2 tiny five-petal flowers using the same flower method from the apron section.
- Use white for one flower and red or pink for the second flower.
- Add yellow centers.
- Sew both flowers to the side of the hat brim and band area.
Head Flowers
The bee has two small flowers near the antennae: one pink flower on one side and one lavender flower on the other. They sit against the top of the green head like garden decorations.
Large Head Flower, Make 2

- Pull ring tight.
- With yellow, make MR, 5 sc in ring, sl st to close. FO.
- Sew the yellow center to the flower.
Sew one flower at the base of the left antenna and one flower at the base of the right antenna. Angle each flower slightly forward so both are visible from the front.
Optional Black Waist Stripe Adjustment
If your apron covers too much of the black stripes, add a short black surface-crochet line on each side of the body. This helps the bee stripes stay visible around the apron, just like the image.
- With black yarn, insert hook through the surface of the green body at the left side of the apron.
- Work surface sl sts in a horizontal line across the side body for about 12 sts.
- Repeat on the right side.
- Weave all ends inside the body.
Assembly Order
- Sew the eye units to the face first, placing them high and close together.
- Sew the yellow eyelids over the top of the eye whites.
- Sew the snout centered below the eyes.
- Embroider the smile, cheek lines, nostrils, and attach the red tongue.
- Sew antennae to the top of the head and add the head flowers.
- Sew arms to the sides and legs to the lower front.
- Sew sandals to the leg ends and add the tiny sandal bees.
- Sew wings to the back side area, layered large wing above small wing.
- Pin the apron to the body, checking placement before sewing.
- Sew the apron around the sides and top, leaving the lower pocket openings usable.
- Add apron straps and buttons.
- Sew the green crossbody strap from shoulder to hip.
- Sew the strawberry bag at the right hip.
- Add flowers, leaves, and tools to the apron.
- Place the watering can, loose trowel, and straw hat beside the finished doll for display.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check the face from the front before tying off any final knots. The eyes should be the main focus, with the yellow rims touching or nearly touching in the center. The snout should sit between the eyes and above the smile.
The smile should be wide and gentle. Use small anchor stitches at each end of the smile so it stays curved upward. Add a tiny brown cheek crease near each end, matching the soft expression in the image.
Make sure the antennae lean outward, not straight forward. The wings should be visible from the front, extending from behind the shoulders. If the wings droop, add a few hidden stitches at the base or use firmer clear plastic.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only, especially if using clear plastic wings, buttons, or ribbon.
- Do not machine wash if the doll has safety eyes, buttons, wire, or clear wing panels.
- Keep the doll away from strong heat, which may warp the transparent wings.
- Reshape the arms, legs, hat brim, and antennae gently after handling.
- This design is best used as a decorative handmade doll, not as a toy for babies.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To remove light dust, use a soft dry brush and work gently in the direction of the crochet stitches. For small spots, dab with a slightly damp cloth and a tiny amount of mild soap. Do not rub the embroidered flowers or clear wings.
Let the doll air dry completely in a shaded place. Avoid direct sunlight for long periods because bright yellow, red, and green yarns may fade. Store the doll upright or seated so the antennae, wings, and hat keep their shape.
If the apron pockets flatten over time, place a small folded cloth inside each pocket for a few hours to restore the shape. If the hat brim curls too much, lightly mist it, flatten it with your fingers, and let it dry on a clean towel.
