This crochet pattern creates a charming miniature railway garden with a round grassy base, white picket fence, curved train track, red-and-green engine, small wagons, two amigurumi mice, bluebell flowers, a cream station building, a double door, a hanging clock, glowing-look lanterns, luggage, tickets, and a large bluebell-shaped roof above the station.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge and Notes
Gauge is not strict, but the stitches must be firm so the pieces hold their shape. For the sample look, use a hook smaller than normally recommended for your yarn. The station, roof, mice, train, and flowers should feel dense, not floppy.
Work most amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join. Use a stitch marker at the first stitch of each round. Stuff pieces gradually. Overstuffing the tiny parts can distort the shape, so add small amounts at a time.
The garden is built as a display piece. For a play-safe version, avoid wire, safety eyes, and cardboard. Embroider the eyes and replace inner supports with extra stuffing or washable felt.
Part 1: Round Grass Garden Base
The image shows a flat, round, grassy platform with a slightly raised edge. The base carries the station in the back center, the track curving around the front, bluebell flowers along the border, and white fence sections around the outer edge.

Base Backing
Make a second circle using the same instructions through R30 only. Cut a firm cardboard or plastic canvas circle slightly smaller than the crocheted base. Place the insert between the two circles. Hold the wrong sides together and sew the outer edges through R31 of the top circle and the final round of the backing circle.
Textured Grass Tufts on Base
Use dark green, medium green, and light green scraps. Add small grass stitches across the base, especially near the flowers and fence.
- For each small tuft, insert the hook into any surface stitch, pull up a loop, ch 5, sl st back into the same base stitch.
- Make 45 to 60 tufts around the outside area.
- Keep the middle area flatter so the station and train sit evenly.
Part 2: Curved Railway Track
The track in the image forms a curved brown oval path around the front of the station. It has two dark rails with many lighter cross ties. The front track holds the red engine and wagons.
Outer Rail
Use dark brown yarn and the 3.0 mm hook.
- Ch 145.
- R1: sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. 144 sts.
- R2: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. 144 sts.
- FO, leaving a long sewing tail.
Inner Rail
- Ch 118.
- R1: sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. 117 sts.
- R2: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. 117 sts.
- FO, leaving a long sewing tail.
Railway Ties
Use medium brown yarn.
- Make 32 pieces: ch 8, sc in second ch from hook and across. 7 sts.
- FO each piece, leaving tails for sewing.
Pin the outer and inner rails onto the grass base in an oval curve. The front curve should sit about 1.25 in / 3 cm from the outer edge. The back curve should pass in front of the station door. Sew the two rails down first. Place the 32 ties evenly between the rails, crossing under them visually. Sew each tie securely.
Part 3: White Picket Fence
The fence is built from individual pointed posts around the garden border, leaving a small open space near the front track and the station path. Use white yarn and a 2.5 mm hook for crisp posts.
Fence Posts
Make 44 posts.
- Ch 7.
- Starting in second ch from hook, sl st 1, sc 1, sc 3, hdc 1. This creates a pointed top and straight post. 6 sts.
- FO with a long tail.
Fence Rails
Make 8 short rail strips.
- Ch 30.
- R1: sc in second ch from hook and across. 29 sts.
- FO, leaving a sewing tail.
Arrange the fence posts around the outer base, about 0.25 in / 6 mm from the edge. Put the pointed ends upward. Sew the bottoms first, then sew the horizontal rails behind the posts so the fence looks like the white picket fence in the image.
Part 4: Cream Station Building
The station is a short cream cylinder with a flat bottom, round wall, brown double door, small arched window, sign board, clock, and hanging lanterns. The roof sits on top like a giant bluebell flower.

Raised Roof Ribs
Use medium blue yarn for lavender and purple petals. Use light blue yarn for medium blue petals.
- For each petal, surface crochet one straight rib from the top center down to the curled tip.
- Make 2 slimmer ribs on each side of the center rib by using backstitch embroidery or surface slip stitches.
- Keep the ribs raised and visible, because they define the bluebell roof panels.
Assembling the Roof
Pin the 8 petals around the bottom edge of the roof center cone. Each petal should overlap the next slightly, with the pointed curled tips hanging over the station wall. Sew the top 0.75 in / 2 cm of each petal to the cone. Leave the lower petal sections loose so they drape naturally.

- Make 8 black wheels the same way as the engine wheels.
- Sew 4 wheels to each wagon base.
- For each coupler, ch 5 with black yarn and sew between the engine and wagons.
- Position the wagons behind the engine on the track curve.
Part 12: Bluebell Flowers Around the Garden
The garden is filled with clustered bluebell flowers. They appear in groups around the fence, beside the track, and near the station. Use different blues and purples to make the flowers look natural.
Bluebell Flower Stem
Use dark green yarn and 2.5 mm hook.
- Ch 9.
- Sl st in second ch from hook and across. 8 sts.
- FO, leaving a sewing tail.
Bell Blossom
Use blue, medium blue, lavender, or purple yarn.

- Ch 8.
- Starting in second ch from hook, sl st 1, sc 2, hdc 2, sc 1, sl st 1.
- FO.
Make 60 to 70 leaves. Sew leaves around the stems in small clusters of 3 to 5. Place the clusters around the fence and track, leaving open space where the train and mice stand.
Part 13: Pebbles, Shrubs, and Tiny Garden Details
The image includes small stones and leafy plants scattered between the flowers. These details make the round base look full and garden-like.
Small Pebbles
Use beige, gray, and light brown yarn.
- R1: 5 sc in MR.
- R2: sc in each st around.
- FO, pull closed, and leave a sewing tail.
Make 18 to 24 pebbles. Sew them in small groups near the flowers and along the fence.
Low Shrubs
Use light green yarn.
- Ch 6.
- In second ch from hook: sl st, ch 5, sl st back into same stitch.
- Repeat the same leaf loop in each chain across.
- FO, leaving a tail.
Make 10 shrubs. Sew them between bluebell clusters to create the lush garden look.
Part 14: Tickets and Paper Signs
The ground shows tiny cream and blue tickets near the railway. Make several small rectangles and embroider simple lines on them.
Small Ticket
Use tan, cream, or pale blue yarn and 2.5 mm hook.
- Ch 8.
- R1: sc in second ch from hook and across. 7 sts.
- R2-R3: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. 7 sts.
- FO.
Make 5 tickets. Use dark brown thread to stitch tiny lines across them. Sew two near the front of the track, two near the station door, and one in the conductor mouse’s paw.
Part 15: Luggage and Barrel Bags
Near the station door are small rounded brown luggage pieces. These look like travel bags waiting beside the platform.
Round Suitcase
Use tan yarn.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: inc around. 12 sts.
- R3: sc 1, inc; repeat around. 18 sts.
- R4-R6: sc in each st around. 18 sts.
- R7: sc 1, dec; repeat around. 12 sts.
- Stuff lightly.
- R8: dec around. 6 sts.
- FO and close.
Embroider two dark brown bands around the suitcase. Add a handle by chaining 7 with dark brown yarn and sewing both ends to the top.
Small Barrel Bag
Use medium brown yarn.
- Ch 10.
- R1: sc in second ch from hook and across. 9 sts.
- R2-R6: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. 9 sts.
- FO, leaving a long tail.
Roll the rectangle into a small cylinder and sew the side seam. Pinch the ends closed and sew them flat. Add dark brown bands around the bag. Place luggage to the right of the station door.
Part 16: Wooden Signpost Under the Clock
A small brown post beside the station supports the clock and gives the scene an old railway feel.
- Use medium brown yarn and ch 22.
- Sl st in second ch from hook and across. 21 sts.
- Make a second identical piece.
- Hold both pieces together and whipstitch them into one thicker post.
- Sew the post standing upright beside the left side of the station.
For extra stability, insert a trimmed wooden skewer inside the post before sewing it down. Skip the skewer for a soft toy version.
Part 17: Placement Guide
Before sewing everything permanently, place all pieces on the base and check the composition. The image has the station in the back center, the train in the front, the conductor mouse near the station path, and the basket mouse on the right side.
- Place the cream station slightly behind the center of the round base.
- Angle the door toward the front so the sign and door are visible.
- Place the large bluebell roof over the station, with petals hanging evenly around the wall.
- Set the track in a curved oval around the station, leaving the train at the front.
- Place the conductor mouse left of the door, standing on the grass near the rail.
- Place the basket mouse on the right side, just inside the track curve.
- Place the train engine in the front left area, followed by two wagons curving toward the right.
- Add bluebell flower clusters around the outer fence, beside the track, and near the station edges.
- Place the clock post on the left side of the station and lanterns under the bluebell roof.
- Sew tickets, luggage, pebbles, and shrubs last so they fill small empty spaces naturally.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the station building to the base first. Use cream yarn and stitch around the bottom edge several times so the station stands firmly.
- Sew the bluebell roof to the top of the station. Catch the roof cone and the station top cap together. Let the petals hang freely, but add a few hidden stitches under the front petals if they need support.
- Sew the railway track and ties to the base. Make sure the track is flat before adding the train.
- Sew the engine and wagons onto the track. Stitch through the black bases so the wheels remain visible.
- Sew the conductor mouse near the door. Add extra stitches through the feet and tail for balance.
- Sew the basket mouse to the right side. The basket should look like it is resting on the grass, not floating.
- Sew the fence posts and rails around the edge. Keep the opening at the front clear so the train is easy to see.
- Sew flowers, leaves, pebbles, shrubs, luggage, tickets, clock, and lanterns in place.
- For both mouse faces, embroider a tiny nose, short whiskers, and a small smile. Keep facial stitches soft and simple.
- Check the roof curls. If needed, reshape them with your fingers so each petal tip curls upward like a bluebell blossom.
Care Notes
This piece is best used as a decorative crochet display. Spot clean with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking because the base and station may contain cardboard or plastic canvas supports. Let the garden dry fully in a flat position.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The station stands upright and the bluebell roof is centered.
- The roof has 8 long petals with curled tips and raised ribs.
- The front sign reads BLUEBELL STATION.
- The track curves around the station and holds the train neatly.
- The conductor mouse has a cap, uniform, ticket, ears, muzzle, whiskers, and tail.
- The basket mouse sits securely inside the brown basket.
- The white picket fence circles the garden edge with a small open space.
- Bluebell flowers, leaves, stones, tickets, lanterns, luggage, and clock are attached.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the finished railway garden away from direct sunlight to protect the blue, lavender, green, and red yarn colors. If dust collects on the flowers or roof, use a soft dry brush and clean gently from top to bottom.
If the piece is displayed for a long time, support it on a flat shelf so the round base does not bend. Avoid placing heavy objects on the roof petals, fence, or train. For gifting, wrap the station roof loosely with tissue paper and place the whole garden in a firm box.
