Skill Level
Intermediate amigurumi and miniature crochet. The project uses small pieces, tight stitches, shaping, embroidery, and firm assembly. A confident beginner can make it slowly if each section is completed one at a time.
Finished Size
- Open suitcase: about 8.5 in wide, 6 in deep, and 6.5 in tall.
- Raccoon: about 3.25 in tall seated.
- Sofa: about 4 in wide.

Gauge and Stitch Notes
Use a tight crochet tension so the suitcase, raccoon, and accessories hold their miniature shape. With 2.25 mm hook and DK cotton, 8 sc by 8 rounds should measure about 1 inch. Exact gauge is less important than firm fabric and matching proportions.
Most amigurumi pieces are worked in continuous rounds. Do not join unless the pattern says to join. Mark the first stitch of each round. For flat suitcase panels, chain 1 and turn at the end of each row unless otherwise stated.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a soft brush to remove dust from the sofa, raccoon, lights, and table. For small crumbs or lint, press a piece of low-tack tape gently onto the yarn surface and lift it away slowly.
If the diorama becomes misshapen, reshape it with your fingers while dry. For the suitcase walls, press the edges gently back into place and allow the plastic canvas or cardboard insert to support the form.
Store the camper diorama open on a shelf when possible. If storing closed, place acid-free tissue around the raccoon, raincoat, and table so the small pieces do not flatten against the lid.
This finished crochet scene is decorative, detailed, and full of tiny parts. It is best used as a display piece, handmade gift, craft fair sample, or cozy seasonal shelf decoration.
