This Raindrop Lily Fairy Cottage is a detailed crochet diorama with a round grassy base, pale blue pond, arched footbridge, cream fairy cottage, scalloped lily-petal roof, green leaf roof cap, hanging raindrops, cattails, stones, mushrooms, water lilies, two frog fairies, a tiny boat, ladder, bucket, vines, lace curtains, and a curved open doorway.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US crochet terms. The finished piece is designed as a decorative crochet display, not a toy for small children. The cottage sits in the center of a flat oval garden mat. A blue pond curves around the front, with a tan bridge on the left and a green canoe on the right.
The cottage body is worked as a firm cream cylinder with a rounded dome top. The roof is made from layered scalloped petals: cream petals under the roof and long green lily leaves above. Small blue and white raindrops are sewn onto the roof and around the bridge to match the soft rainy fairy-garden theme.
Finished Size
- Full display base: about 17 in wide and 15 in deep.
- Cottage height: about 10.5 in from base to curled roof stem.
- Cottage width: about 7.5 in across the body.
- Frog fairies: about 2.5 in tall seated, and 3.25 in tall standing.
- Bridge: about 5.5 in long and 3 in wide.
- Boat: about 5 in long.
Materials
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream, ivory, leaf green, dark leaf green, grass green, pale blue, tan, brown, gray, white, soft pink, yellow, mint, and aqua.
- Sport weight cotton yarn in pale blue, white, beige, and light gray for raindrops, vines, window trim, and small details.
- 3.0 mm crochet hook for the main pieces.
- 2.25 mm crochet hook for small details.

- Plastic canvas or firm cardboard circles for the base and cottage floor.

- 6 mm black safety eyes for tiny facial accents.
- Yarn needle, stitch markers, pins, scissors, and hot glue only if you prefer no-sew reinforcement.

Gauge
With the 3.0 mm hook and worsted cotton, 6 sc and 6 rounds should measure about 1 in. Keep your stitches firm. The cottage body, frogs, stones, mushrooms, and bridge need a tight fabric so the pieces hold their shape and stuffing does not show through.
Important Construction Notes
- Work most amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join.
- Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round.
- Stuff firmly, but do not overstuff the cottage body near the doorway.
- The roof petals should be lightly blocked or shaped by hand before sewing.
- Pin all large pieces to the base before sewing so the pond, cottage, bridge, and boat stay balanced.
Round Grass and Pond Base
The base is a flattened oval mat with green grass around the outside and a blue pond sweeping through the front. The image shows a thick green border, a pale blue water area, and a raised edge that keeps the cottage visually centered.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Embroider each frog’s mouth with one small curved black stitch. Add a tiny pale pink stitch under each eye if you want a softer expression. The frogs should look calm and cheerful, not exaggerated. Keep the facial details small so the cottage remains the main focus.
Check the cottage from the front before securing every piece. The bridge should sit on the left, the boat on the right, and the doorway should stay open and visible. The roof leaves should overlap naturally, with curled tips pointing slightly upward.
Care Notes
- Use this piece as a decorative display only.
- Keep it away from direct sunlight to protect the soft green, blue, and cream colors.
- Do not machine wash because the bridge, roof, reeds, and tiny appliques may lose shape.
- If wire is used, keep the piece away from babies and pets.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The cottage body is centered and firmly sewn to the base.
- The doorway opens outward and is not stitched shut.
- Both teardrop windows have brown trim and ivory lace.
- The cream roof petals are visible below the green leaf roof.
- Raindrops are sewn on the roof, bridge, and front cottage area.
- The bridge, boat, frogs, cattails, mushrooms, stones, and water lilies are all attached securely.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Dust the cottage gently with a clean makeup brush or soft paintbrush. Begin at the roof stem, brush down the green leaves, then clean the cream wall, bridge, pond, and base. Do not pull on the raindrops, vines, cattails, or dragonflies.
For small spots, use a barely damp white cloth and tap the area gently. Do not rub the stitches. Let the piece air dry completely before storing. Store it in a breathable box with tissue paper around the roof and bridge so the shaped details stay lifted.
