Pattern Overview
This pattern uses US crochet terms and is worked mostly in continuous spiral rounds. The doll is shaped as a standing amigurumi tiger with a large head, smaller body, rounded limbs, and detailed Halloween accessories. Use a stitch marker at the first stitch of each round so the stripe and face placement stays even.
- Finished size: about 11 to 12 inches tall when made with sport or DK cotton yarn and a 2.25 mm hook.
- Skill level: confident beginner to intermediate.
- Main technique: tight single crochet amigurumi, small appliqué pieces, embroidery, and neat sewing.
- Gauge: 8 sc and 8 rounds measure about 1 inch. Exact gauge is less important than firm stitches.
Materials
- Sport or DK cotton yarn in tiger orange, pumpkin orange, white, dark brown, medium brown, tan beige, black, yellow, green, and a small amount of pale pink.

Important Notes Before You Start
- Work the tiger head, body, arms, legs, and ears with tight stitches so stuffing does not show.
- The head should be larger than the body. This gives the same cute doll proportion shown in the image.
- Use embroidery for the black tiger stripes instead of crocheting the stripes directly into the rounds. This keeps the face smooth and expressive.
- The overalls are crocheted separately and sewn onto the doll so the orange outfit sits clearly over the tiger body.
- Stuff the head firmly, the body medium-firm, and the arms lightly so they hang naturally at the sides.
Tiger Head
The head is a large round shape with gentle cheek fullness. Work in tiger orange. The white face patches and muzzle are made separately and sewn on before the final facial embroidery.

- Add two shorter curved stripes on each side of the center stripe.
- Add three small cheek stripes on each side, angled downward toward the muzzle.

Check the face from the front before knotting any embroidery. The eyes should be level, the muzzle centered, and the forehead stripes aligned vertically. This step makes the finished tiger look polished and close to the pictured doll.
Care Notes
- Spot clean the doll with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Do not soak if safety eyes, buttons, or embroidered whiskers are attached.
- Let the doll air dry flat on a towel.
- Keep the hat, lantern, leaf, and bag separate while drying so they keep their shape.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The head is larger than the body and firmly stuffed.
- The white eye patches are even and sit around the safety eyes.
- The muzzle is centered and softly stuffed.
- The ears are round, cupped, and sewn at matching angles.
- The overalls are pumpkin orange with a front bib, straps, buttons, and black cats.
- The arms and legs have black tiger stripes.
- The bag, pumpkin charm, lantern, leaf, hat, and bow are all complete.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the finished doll in a dry place away from strong sunlight. Direct sunlight can fade orange, black, and brown yarn over time. If the doll is displayed for Halloween, keep it away from candles, cooking steam, and dusty windowsills.
For long-term storage, wrap the doll loosely in clean tissue paper and place it in a breathable cotton bag. Do not press heavy items on top of the ears, hat, lantern, or bow. Reshape the muzzle, paws, and overalls gently with your fingers after storage.
If small fibers appear on the surface, trim them carefully with sharp scissors instead of pulling them. Pulling can loosen embroidery, especially around the tiger stripes, cat appliqués, nose, and whiskers. Handle the accessories gently so the handmade details stay neat.
