Size and Fabric Notes

The bunny is made with a firm amigurumi tension so the stitches sit close together, with almost no gaps. The finished bunny measures about 10 to 11 inches tall from the top of the bonnet to the soles.

The puppy companion measures about 3 to 3.5 inches tall. The satchel is about 2 inches tall. The bouquet is about 1.5 inches across. Keep your tension very even, because the neat stitch texture is one of the defining features of this design.

Stuff the head very firmly. Stuff the body firmly at the lower half and moderately at the upper half. The arms and ears should stay soft. The legs need enough stuffing to stand straight but should not bulge.

  15. Rnd 20: (2 sc, dec) x 6. (18)
  16. Rnd 21 to 22: sc around. (18)

Stuff the lower body firmly. Keep the upper body a little softer so the dress sits naturally. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Sew the head to the neck opening with the face perfectly centered.

Legs

Make 2 in harbor blue.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)

  5. Rnd 7: (4 sc, dec) x 3. (15)
  6. Rnd 8 to 16: sc around. (15)

Stuff the foot area firmly and the leg lightly. Flatten the top opening and sew each leg to the lower front of the body. Angle them slightly outward so the bunny has the same sweet, balanced stance seen in the image.

Arms

Make 2 in harbor blue.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3 to 5: sc around. (12)
  4. Rnd 6: (2 sc, dec) x 3. (9)
  5. Rnd 7 to 16: sc around. (9)

Stuff only the lower half. Flatten the top opening and sew the arms to the body at about neck level. They should hang low and relaxed, with the paws ending near the upper skirt.

Ears

Make 2 in harbor blue. These ears are long, soft, and gently tapered, but still broad enough to show the smooth stitch texture clearly.

  1. Ch 18.
  2. Rnd 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from hook, 16 sc, 3 sc in last ch, working along the opposite side 15 sc, inc in final ch. (36)
  3. Rnd 2: inc, 15 sc, 3 inc, 15 sc, 2 inc. (42)
  4. Rnd 3 to 10: sc around. (42)

Flatten each ear. Sew the top edge closed across about 8 to 9 stitches, leaving the rest soft. Attach them to the sides of the head, slightly behind the eye line, so they fall straight down under the bonnet.

Optional Tail

In harbor blue, make 6 sc in MR, then inc around to 12. Work 2 more rounds even. Stuff lightly and sew low on the back. Keep it small so it stays hidden under the skirt.

Clothing for the Bunny

Upper Sleeve Covers

Make 2 in cream. These are sewn around the upper arms to create the puffed blouse effect visible under the pinafore.

  1. Ch 12 and join carefully.
  2. Rnd 1: 12 sc. (12)
  3. Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)

  6. Rnd 6: (4 sc, dec) x 3. (15)

Fasten off. Sew one sleeve around each upper arm. Position them just below the arm join so they puff outward. The blue hand should still show clearly below the cream sleeve.

Ruffled Cuffs

Join cream yarn into the FLO left from rnd 5 of each sleeve.

Work (2 hdc, dc) in each stitch around for a soft ruffle. Fasten off. The cuff should be dainty rather than oversized.

Pinafore Dress

Work from the upper bodice downward in harbor blue.

  1. Ch 28 and join, making sure the chain is not twisted.
  2. Rnd 1 to 3: sc around. (28)
  3. Rnd 4: (6 sc, inc) x 4. (32)
  4. Rnd 5: sc around. (32)
  5. Rnd 6: (7 sc, inc) x 4. (36)

  13. Rnd 14: (11 sc, inc) x 4. (52)
  14. Rnd 15: sc around. (52)
  15. Rnd 16: (12 sc, inc) x 4. (56)
  16. Rnd 17 to 18: sc around. (56)

The skirt should flare gently, not dramatically. It should reach just above the ankles and keep a softly bell-shaped silhouette, exactly like the photo.

Dress Bib and Shoulder Straps

With the dress centered, mark 10 front stitches for the bib.

  1. Row 1: Join yarn to first marked stitch and sc across 10. Ch 1, turn.
  2. Row 2 to 6: sc across 10.

For the straps, ch 12 from one upper corner of the bib, sl st to the back edge of the dress, fasten off. Repeat on the other side. Sew the straps flat so they look like a neat pinafore front.

Scalloped Collar

Make 2 in cream, then 1 accent edge in harbor blue.

  1. Ch 9.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 8 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2: dec, 4 sc, dec. (6)
  4. Row 3: dec, 2 sc, dec. (4)
  5. Row 4: sc across. (4)

Make a second piece. Edge the outer curved side of each piece with blue sl st. Sew both collar halves at the neckline so they meet in the center and sit on top of the bib, forming the distinct rounded twin-collar look.

Hem Ruffle

Join cream to the bottom edge of the dress.

Work (sc, hdc, sc) in every other stitch around. This creates the tiny cream peeking edge under the blue skirt, matching the image without adding too much bulk.

Waist Flower Trim

Make 7 tiny blue flowers. Each flower is worked in blue, then finished with a pale yellow or cream center.

  1. In MR: (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st) x 5.
  2. Pull ring closed and fasten off.

Embroider a French-knot style center or wrap a tiny pale stitch in the middle. Sew the flowers in a line around the waist seam, with tiny green stitches between them for leaves.

Skirt Flower Border

Make 11 to 13 more tiny flowers in the same style. Sew them evenly around the lower skirt, slightly above the cream hem edging. This border is one of the most recognizable details in the design, so take time to space them neatly.

Bonnet

Work in cream.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
  6. Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6. (36)
  7. Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. (42)
  8. Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6. (48)
  9. Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x 6. (54)
  10. Rnd 10 to 13: sc around. (54)

Now create the front bonnet extension.

  1. Row 14: 40 sc, leaving 7 stitches unworked on each side. Ch 1, turn.
  2. Row 15 to 17: sc across 40.
  3. Row 18: dec, 36 sc, dec. (38)
  4. Row 19: sc across 38.

Fasten off. The bonnet should frame the face softly and cover the top of the head while leaving the long ears visible below the side edges.

Bonnet Flower Cluster

Make 3 small blue flowers and 2 tiny green leaves.

  • Flower: In MR, (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st) x 5
  • Leaf: Ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch, sc, hdc, sl st in last

Sew the flowers on the right side of the bonnet, clustered diagonally, with the leaves tucked behind. This placement mirrors the photograph and balances the whole outfit.

Shoes

Make 2 in harbor blue.

  1. Ch 8.
  2. Rnd 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 6 sc, 3 sc in last ch, 5 sc on opposite side, inc in last. (16)
  3. Rnd 2: inc, 5 sc, 3 inc, 5 sc, 2 inc. (22)
  4. Rnd 3: BLO, sc around. (22)
  5. Rnd 4: 6 sc, 5 dec, 6 sc. (17)
  6. Rnd 5: sc around. (17)

Fasten off. Slide each shoe onto a foot and stitch it in place invisibly along the back edge if needed.

Shoe Bows

In cream, ch 7. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 6 sc. Fasten off. Wrap the center with a few turns of cream yarn to form a bow. Make 2 and sew one on each shoe front.

Satchel Bag

Work in harbor blue. The bag is a tidy rectangular backpack-style satchel with a flap, a button, and a long strap.

Front and Back Panel

  1. Ch 11.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 10 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2 to 16: sc across 10.

Do not fasten off after row 16. Continue directly into the flap.

  1. Row 17 to 20: sc across 10.
  2. Row 21: dec, 6 sc, dec. (8)
  3. Row 22: sc across 8.

Fasten off. Make a second plain rectangle for the back panel, rows 1 to 16 only.

Side Gusset

Ch 4. Work 34 rows of 3 sc. Sew the strip around the side and bottom edges of one panel, then sew on the second panel. Fold the top flap over the front.

Strap and Loop

  • Long strap: Ch 55, sl st back along the chain, then sew to each upper side
  • Top loop: Ch 8, sl st back, sew to top center

Sew a tiny button to the front and add a short chain loop under the flap if you want a functional closure. The finished bag should stand upright and look boxy, not flat.

Mini Mail Pieces

Make 2 tiny rectangles in off-white or pale cream. These represent the little mail cards near the bag.

  1. Ch 6.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, 5 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2 to 4: sc across 5.

Fasten off. Embroider one corner as a tiny stamp in blue. Add a few short blue and red lines across the front to suggest postage details. Make the stitches very small and clean.

Bouquet

The bouquet is small but detailed. Use 3 blue flowers, 1 pink flower, 1 cream flower, and 2 green leaves. Add wrapped stems and a white tie.

Tiny Flowers

For each flower: In MR, (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st) x 5. Pull the ring tight. Use blue, pink, cream, or lavender as desired. Add a pale yellow center stitch.

Leaves

Make 2 or 3 in green: ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch, sc, hdc, dc, sl st. Fasten off, leaving tails for joining.

Assembly

Arrange the flowers in a rounded bunch. Stitch them together at the base. Add a short wrapped stem using green yarn around floral wire, yarn tails, or a pipe cleaner. Wrap the lower stems with white yarn or tie with a narrow white strand.

Blue Ribbon Accent

Cut or prepare a length of medium blue satin ribbon and tie a simple bow. Place it loose in front of the bunny for display, or stitch it lightly to the bouquet if you prefer the set to stay together.

Puppy Companion

This tiny companion echoes the same outfit colors as the bunny. It has a beige face, cream bonnet, cream sleeves, blue dress, and little brown ears. Keep the proportions compact and upright.

Puppy Head

Work in light beige.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
  5. Rnd 5 to 9: sc around. (24)
  6. Rnd 10: (2 sc, dec) x 6. (18)
  7. Rnd 11: sc around. (18)

Insert 5 mm eyes between rnds 6 and 7. Embroider a tiny brown nose and short mouth. Stuff firmly and leave a tail for sewing.

Puppy Body

Work in beige.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
  4. Rnd 4 to 6: sc around. (18)
  5. Rnd 7: (sc, dec) x 6. (12)
  6. Rnd 8 to 9: sc around. (12)

Stuff and sew to the head.

Puppy Ears

  1. Ch 7.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch, 6 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2: dec, 2 sc, dec. (4)
  4. Row 3: sc across 4.

Sew the ears to the sides of the head so they droop downward.

Puppy Arms and Legs

Make 4 small tubes in beige or cream for the visible limb portions.

  • Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR
  • Rnd 2 to 4: sc around

📌Thank you for reading the article

For the paws, embroider a little brown at the tips or switch to brown for the final round. Sew arms high on the sides and legs under the dress.

Puppy Bonnet

In cream: 6 sc in MR, then increase to 30 over 5 rounds. Work 2 rounds even. Add 2 short row sections to frame the face. Tie a tiny cream strand under the chin if desired.

Puppy Dress

In harbor blue, ch 16 and join. Work 3 rounds sc. Increase every 4 stitches on the next round to 20. Work 1 round even. Increase every 5 stitches to 24. Work 2 rounds even. Add a tiny cream edge at the hem.

Add miniature cream sleeve puffs to the upper arms and a simple cream neckline trim. The puppy does not need the full flower border, but it should clearly coordinate with the main bunny’s outfit.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing

Dress the bunny before permanently fixing every accessory. Start with the sleeve covers, then slide on the pinafore, sew the collar, add the waistband flowers, and finish the hem flowers. Sew the bonnet last so you can balance it around the ears.

For the face, keep the embroidered nose extremely small. A large nose will change the whole character. If desired, add a tiny vertical indent from the eye area to the mouth with matching sewing thread for a softer sculpted look.

Place the satchel slightly to one side of the bunny in display photos, not directly centered. Position the puppy on the right side, bouquet in front, and mail pieces near the bag to recreate the arrangement shown in the image.

Care Notes

  • Store the set away from direct sunlight to protect the soft blue and cream shades.
  • Keep small accessories together in a box or fabric pouch.
  • If the bonnet or collar shifts, reshape gently with clean fingers.
  • Do not hang the bunny by the ears, straps, or bonnet edge.

Quick Checklist Before You Finish

  • Eyes level and evenly spaced
  • Nose centered and tiny
  • Ears hanging at the same length
  • Bonnet flower cluster placed on the right side
  • Collar points meeting neatly at the center front
  • Waist flowers aligned in a straight band
  • Skirt flower border spaced evenly
  • Shoes centered with cream bows
  • Satchel flap folding cleanly
  • Puppy scaled small beside the bunny

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines

Spot clean only with a lightly damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Press gently rather than rubbing. Remove moisture with a dry towel and allow the piece to air dry fully on a clean surface.

If the item becomes misshapen, add tissue inside the skirt, bonnet, or bag while drying so the silhouette stays crisp. For long-term storage, wrap the set in acid-free tissue and keep it in a dry, cool place.
