Design Notes
This design is worked tightly so the stuffing does not show. Use a hook size that gives a neat fabric. The bunny has a rounded head, softly tapered body, short cylindrical arms, long narrow ears, and straight legs that fit inside crocheted shoes.
The dress is made as a separate garment with a fitted wrap-style bodice and a flared skirt. The decorative white motifs on the skirt are added after the blue skirt is finished. This gives the closest look to the sample and keeps the lines crisp.
The flower trim on the bunny bodice is placed vertically along both front wrap edges. Keep the flowers small and flat. The hedgehog is made as a separate tiny figure and is not removable from its dress unless you choose to make the dress separately.

Bunny Head
With cream yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
- Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
- Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6. (36)
- Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. (42)
- Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6. (48)
- Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x 6. (54)
- Rnds 10-19: sc around. (54)
Insert eyes between Rnds 13 and 14 with about 10 visible stitches between them. The face in the sample is calm and centered, so avoid placing the eyes too low or too wide.
- Rnd 20: (7 sc, dec) x 6. (48)
- Rnd 21: (6 sc, dec) x 6. (42)
- Rnd 22: (5 sc, dec) x 6. (36)
- Rnd 23: (4 sc, dec) x 6. (30)
Begin stuffing firmly, shaping the cheeks so the face stays broad and sweet rather than narrow.
- Rnd 24: (3 sc, dec) x 6. (24)
- Rnd 25: (2 sc, dec) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 26: (sc, dec) x 6. (12)
- Rnd 27: dec x 6. (6)
Fasten off and close. Save a tail for sewing if you prefer attaching the head after finishing the neck area.
Bunny Muzzle Shaping and Nose
The sample has a very small stitched nose placed high enough to keep the face baby-like. Thread blush pink yarn or embroidery floss through the face and make a tiny horizontal triangle centered between the eyes, about 3 rounds below them.
Add one short vertical stitch beneath the nose and a very soft curved smile if desired. Keep the mouth minimal. Too much detail will change the gentle expression seen in the sample.
Bunny Ears Make 2
With cream yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 3. (9)
- Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) x 3. (12)
- Rnd 4: (3 sc, inc) x 3. (15)
- Rnd 5: (4 sc, inc) x 3. (18)
- Rnds 6-18: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 19: (4 sc, dec) x 3. (15)
- Rnds 20-24: sc around. (15)
Do not stuff. Flatten lightly and fold the open edge slightly before sewing. The ears in the image hang straight down from under the hat brim and reach to about shoulder level. Sew them slightly behind the eye line, one on each side of the head.

- Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
- Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6. (36)
- Rnds 7-10: sc around. (36)
- Rnd 11: (4 sc, dec) x 6. (30)
- Rnd 12: sc around. (30)
- Rnd 13: (3 sc, dec) x 6. (24)
- Rnds 14-16: sc around. (24)
- Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec) x 6. (18)
- Rnds 18-20: sc around. (18)
Stuff firmly at the lower body and a bit lighter near the neck so the dress sits smoothly.

Bunny Legs Make 2
Each leg begins at the foot. The shoes are made separately, but the cream foot and leg should be slim enough to slide into the shoe opening.
With cream yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnds 4-5: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 6: (4 sc, dec) x 3. (15)
- Rnd 7: sc around. (15)
- Rnd 8: (3 sc, dec) x 3. (12)
- Rnds 9-18: sc around. (12)
Stuff the foot and lower leg firmly, the upper leg lightly. Flatten the top and sew the legs to the lower body so the bunny stands with feet slightly apart. The legs in the image are straight and vertical, not bent.
Bunny Arms Make 2
With cream yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 3. (9)
- Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) x 3. (12)
- Rnd 4: sc around. (12)
- Rnd 5: (2 sc, dec) x 3. (9)
- Rnds 6-14: sc around. (9)
Stuff only the lower half. Flatten the top and sew to the body just under the dress arm openings. Angle them slightly downward, matching the relaxed pose in the image.
Bunny Hat Crown
With sky blue yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
- Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
- Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6. (36)
- Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6. (42)
- Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6. (48)
- Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x 6. (54)
- Rnd 10: (8 sc, inc) x 6. (60)
- Rnds 11-17: sc around. (60)
Bunny Hat Brim
- Rnd 18: BLO sc around. (60)
- Rnd 19: (9 sc, inc) x 6. (66)
- Rnd 20: sc around. (66)
- Rnd 21: (10 sc, inc) x 6. (72)
- Rnd 22: sc around. (72)
- Rnd 23: (11 sc, inc) x 6. (78)
- Rnd 24: sc around. (78)
- Rnd 25: crab stitch or firm sl st loosely around for a neat edge
The hat should resemble a rounded cloche with a gently rolled brim, not a wide floppy sunhat. Test fit as you work. If your yarn is softer, reduce one increase round in the brim so the hat hugs the head more closely.
Bunny Dress Bodice
The bodice is a fitted wrap front. It can be made flat in rows and sewn, which gives the clean crossed front seen in the sample.
With sky blue yarn, ch 28.
- Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across. Turn. (27)
- Rows 2-3: sc across. Turn.
Now shape the wrap fronts by working both ends gradually lower toward the waist while keeping the center V shape.
- Row 4: sc 5, hdc 4, dc 9, hdc 4, sc 5. Turn.
- Row 5: sc across. Turn.
- Row 6: dec, sc 3, hdc 4, dc 7, hdc 4, sc 3, dec. Turn.
- Row 7: sc across. Turn.
- Row 8: dec, sc 2, hdc 4, dc 5, hdc 4, sc 2, dec. Turn.

Fasten off. Wrap the panel around the bunny body and overlap the fronts into a V-neck crossover. Sew at the side and back neatly. Add a white trim around both crossed front edges and neckline with one round of surface sl st or sewn running stitches.
To create the thicker double-edge appearance shown in the photo, add a second pale blue or white line just inside the first trim using embroidery or surface crochet. The bodice should stop at the natural waist and sit smoothly over the upper body.
Bunny Skirt
The skirt is worked from the waist down in joined rounds. Join sky blue yarn to the lower edge of the bodice.
- Rnd 1: evenly work 42 sc around waist. Join. (42)
- Rnd 2: (6 sc, inc) x 6. (48)
- Rnd 3: sc around. (48)
- Rnd 4: (7 sc, inc) x 6. (54)
- Rnd 5: sc around. (54)
- Rnd 6: (8 sc, inc) x 6. (60)
- Rnd 7: sc around. (60)
Begin open texture panels so the skirt gets the airy look seen in the sample.
- Rnd 8: (dc, ch 1, skip 1, dc in next) around. Join.
- Rnd 9: sc in each dc and sc in each ch-1 space around. Join.
- Rnd 10: (2 dc in next st, ch 1, skip 1, dc in next 2 sts, ch 1, skip 1) around as evenly as possible.
- Rnd 11: sc around, placing stitches evenly in spaces and tops of stitches.
- Rnd 12: (8 sc, inc) x 6. (66)
- Rnd 13: work a repeat of dc groups and ch-1 spaces around to create subtle vertical texture
- Rnd 14: sc around
The skirt in the image has six gently pointed scallops around the hem. Divide the hem into six equal sections and shape each point with the next round.
- Rnd 15: For each scallop section work 6 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tr, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, then sl st between sections. Rep 6 times.
Fasten off. Steam lightly if your yarn allows, or finger-shape the points. The finished skirt should flare widely and fall below the hips with a crisp edge.
White Skirt Motifs
The white decorative motifs look like delicate branching lace or stylized floral sprays placed near the lower half of the blue skirt. The easiest way to match this effect is surface embroidery with white yarn or fine crochet cotton.
- Add one motif centered on the front point
- Add one motif on each side point
- Add smaller partial motifs on the remaining visible sections if desired
Use long stitched lines that branch outward, then add tiny picot-like knots or short detached stitches to mimic lacey leaves. Keep the motifs narrow at the top and wider toward the hem so they visually echo the skirt flare.
Bunny Floral Bodice Appliqués
Make 9 to 11 tiny flowers in white, lavender, pink, and yellow. Each flower should be small and flat.
Basic tiny flower:
- With flower center color, 5 sc in mr, join with sl st.
- Change to petal color.
- Work (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st in same st) in each stitch around for 5 petals.
Make several combinations similar to the image:
- Lavender petals with yellow center
- Pink petals with yellow center
- White petals with yellow center
- Yellow petals with white or pink center
Sew the flowers vertically along both wrap edges. The left side in the image carries a longer chain of blossoms from shoulder toward waist. The right side has a slightly shorter grouping. Overlap them tightly so they read like a floral trim rather than isolated motifs.

Bunny Shoes Make 2
Sole
With white yarn, ch 7.
- Rnd 1: sc in second ch from hook, sc 4, 3 sc in last ch. Working on opposite side, sc 4, 2 sc in last ch. (14)
- Rnd 2: inc, sc 4, inc x 3, sc 4, inc x 2. (20)
- Rnd 3: sc around in BLO. (20)
Upper
Change to cream.
- Rnd 4: sc around. (20)
- Rnd 5: sc 5, dec x 5, sc 5. (15)
- Rnd 6: sc around. (15)
Fasten off. Make a tiny tongue in white or cream by stitching a small oval under the opening if needed.
Strap and Top Trim
With sky blue yarn, join at one side of shoe opening and ch 8. Attach to the opposite side to form a Mary Jane strap. Work a round of sl st or sc along the opening edge for a neat trim.
Add a tiny lavender button or crocheted dot at the outer side of each strap. The buttons in the image are very small and decorative, so keep them delicate.
Shoe Flowers
Make 2 tiny three-petal or five-petal blossoms in pale pink or lavender and sew near the front of each strap. Add a small green stitch beneath each flower to suggest leaves. Slide the finished shoes onto the bunny feet and tack them in place.
Cloud Purse
With white yarn, make 2 cloud shapes.
Front and back, ch 11.
- Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across. (10)
- Row 2: inc, sc 8, inc. (12)
- Row 3: sc across. (12)
Now shape the top with soft bumps.
- Row 4: sl st in first st, hdc 2, dc 2, 3 dc in next, dc 2, hdc 2, sl st in last st
Make two identical pieces. Place them together and sc around the sides and lower edge, leaving the top open. Lightly stuff or leave flat.
For the handle, join white yarn at one upper corner, ch 18 to 22, and attach at the other upper corner. Work back along the chain with sl st or sc for a firmer strap. The purse in the image is puffy and rounded, so lightly pad it if you want the same plump silhouette.
Mini Blanket
With white yarn, ch 16.
- Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across. (15)
- Rows 2-12: sc across. Turn.
Change to sky blue and work one round of sc evenly around all sides. In each corner, work 3 sc. Add a second decorative pass of white surface stitches in a small centered star or snowflake shape if desired.
Fold the blanket neatly into quarters for display. In the image, the blanket sits as a small folded square beside the purse.
Daisy Bouquet
Make 5 tiny daisies and bundle them together.
Daisy Center
- With yellow yarn, 5 sc in mr, join.
Petals
- Change to white and work in each stitch: ch 3, sl st in second ch from hook, sl st in next ch, sl st in same base stitch.
This gives slim petals. Make 5 petals per flower. Leave a tail. For stems, cut green yarn lengths and tie or sew them to the flower backs. Wrap the stems together with more green yarn. Trim the ends evenly.
The bouquet should remain tiny so it does not overpower the bunny. Place it on the table or tack it into the cloud purse for display.

Hedgehog Head and Body
The hedgehog is very small with a tan face and dark brown looped spines framing the head and back. You can make the body in one piece.
With tan yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
- Rnds 5-7: sc around. (24)
Insert 5 mm eyes between Rnds 5 and 6 with 6 stitches between them. Embroider a small dark brown nose centered one round lower. Add a short stitched smile.
Now begin tapering slightly into the body.
- Rnd 8: (2 sc, dec) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 9: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 10: (sc, dec) x 6. (12)
- Rnd 11: sc around. (12)
- Rnd 12: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnds 13-15: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 16: (sc, dec) x 6. (12)
- Rnd 17: dec x 6. (6)
Stuff as you go. The overall shape should be pear-like, with a fuller head and small body.
Hedgehog Spines
Join dark brown yarn at the back top of the head. Work loop stitches or short chained loops over the back half of the head and body.
- For each loop: pull up a loop about 1/2 inch long, secure with sc
- Place loops densely so the texture looks curly and full
- Keep the face area clear
Trim only if absolutely necessary. The image shows shaggy, soft, slightly uneven spines, which gives the hedgehog a sweet handmade look.
Hedgehog Arms Make 2
With tan yarn:
- Rnd 1: 4 sc in mr. (4)
- Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 2. (6)
- Rnds 3-5: sc around. (6)
Do not overstuff. Sew to the sides of the upper body.
Hedgehog Ears Make 2
With medium brown yarn:
- Rnd 1: 4 sc in mr
- Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 2. (6)
Flatten and sew at the upper sides, slightly tucked into the spines.
Hedgehog Legs
The tiny feet can be implied rather than made separately. If you want more structure, make two little brown ovals of 6 to 8 stitches each and sew beneath the lower body.
Hedgehog Dress
With sky blue yarn, ch 18 and join carefully without twisting.
- Rnd 1: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 2: sc around. (18)
- Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
- Rnd 4: sc around. (24)
- Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
Add one round of white trim across the top edge. To mimic the crossed look of the bunny dress, embroider a small white V on the front bodice. For the skirt, work one more round with gentle shell texture:
- Rnd 6: (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in next 5 sts, sl st in next, rep around
Sew the dress in place around the hedgehog body if needed.
Hedgehog Hat
With sky blue yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)
- Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)
- Rnd 5: sc around. (24)
- Rnd 6: BLO sc around. (24)
- Rnd 7: (3 sc, inc) x 6. (30)
- Rnd 8: sc around. (30)
This hat should sit close to the head like a tiny cloche. Sew lightly in place if the spines push it upward.
Hedgehog Basket Bag
With tan yarn, ch 5.
- Rnd 1: sc around the chain to form a small oval, total about 10 sts
- Rnd 2: sc around in BLO
- Rnd 3: sc around
- Rnd 4: sl st around
For the handle, ch 10 and attach on both sides. Add a tiny sky-blue bow or knot at one side to echo the image. Sew the basket near one hedgehog hand.
Assembly Order
- Sew bunny head to body
- Sew bunny ears to head
- Sew bunny legs and arms to body
- Dress the bunny with the bodice and skirt
- Add bodice floral appliqués
- Put on and secure the shoes
- Place the hat over the ears and tack it down lightly
- Make and place the purse, blanket, bouquet, and hedgehog friend
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check that the bunny face is centered before tightening any final stitches. The ears should hang evenly, and the hat brim should sit low enough to frame the eyes without covering them. Add a tiny touch of blush on the cheeks if you like a softer nursery-style finish.
For the hedgehog, keep the eyes small and close to the center of the face. The nose should be a neat little oval, and the smile should stay very short. This design looks best with minimal facial stitching.
Care Notes
- Display indoors and keep out of prolonged direct sunlight
- Do not machine wash if the set includes safety eyes and tiny sewn flowers
- Dust gently with a soft dry brush
- Store flat or upright so the hat brim and skirt points keep their shape
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Hat fits low and rounded
- Dress crosses neatly at the front
- Flower trims are balanced on both sides
- Skirt has pointed scalloped sections
- Shoes include straps, buttons, and tiny flowers
- Cloud purse, folded blanket, bouquet, and hedgehog are all included
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Spot clean with a barely damp cloth and mild soap only when needed. Press moisture out with a dry towel and let each item air dry fully on a clean surface. Avoid hanging the bunny while wet, since that can stretch the dress and ears.
For long-term storage, wrap the accessories separately in soft tissue so the flower petals and skirt points do not snag. Keep the bouquet and cloud purse away from heavy items. A breathable box or fabric bag is better than sealed plastic for preserving shape and texture.
