Design Overview

This pattern recreates a standing bunny with a soft cream body, long beige ears, rounded cheeks, and a calm expression. The clothing is the visual focus: a black bodice, full cream skirt with scattered dark blossoms, puff sleeves, black shoes, and a matching flowered hat.

The set also includes a small black shoulder bag, a fox friend dressed in overalls and a blue scarf, plus a miniature tray with a cup, saucer, and a tiny blue decorative piece. Every item is written as a separate section so the display can be made completely.

General Notes Before You Begin

Keep your tension firm throughout the entire set. The photographed doll has smooth, compact fabric with almost no visible stuffing gaps. If your stitches look open, move down a hook size. That single choice changes the final shape more than any other adjustment in the pattern.

The bunny has a large head, a small tapered body, long simple limbs, and softly drooping ears. Avoid overstuffing the head side-to-side. The cheeks should stay rounded, but the face should still look calm and slightly flat across the eye line.

The skirt, sleeves, and hat depend on clean shaping rather than bulky texture. Keep increases evenly spaced. When adding floral details, use tiny stitched motifs instead of large embroidered flowers so the scale stays delicate and close to the photographed look.

Main Bunny

Legs Make 2

Use cream yarn. Stuff lightly at the foot, then more firmly through the ankle and lower leg. The photographed legs are straight and slim, with only a gentle widening at the top.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: sc around. (18)
  5. Rnd 5: 4 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 3 sc. (16)
  6. Rnd 6: 3 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec, 3 sc. (14)
  7. Rnd 7: sc around. (14)
  8. Rnd 8: 5 sc, dec, 5 sc, dec. (12)
  9. Rnd 9-20: sc around. (12)

Fasten off the first leg. Make the second leg but do not fasten off. Add a little extra stuffing at the heel so the foot stays stable inside the shoe later.

Join the Legs and Form the Lower Body

With the second leg still attached, ch 3 and join to the first leg. Work around the first leg, across the chain, around the second leg, and across the other side of the chain. This creates the hip opening.

  1. Rnd 21: 12 sc around first leg, 3 sc across chain, 12 sc around second leg, 3 sc across chain. (30)
  2. Rnd 22: sc around. (30)
  3. Rnd 23: 4 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (36)
  4. Rnd 24-26: sc around. (36)
  5. Rnd 27: 4 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (30)
  6. Rnd 28: sc around. (30)
  7. Rnd 29: 3 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (24)
  8. Rnd 30: sc around. (24)

Stuff the hips and lower belly firmly, but do not make the torso round like a ball. The image shows a narrow waist and softly rounded lower body under the dress, not a thick barrel shape.

Torso and Neck

The body narrows quickly. This is important because the clothing sits neatly over a slim frame. The neck should be short, straight, and firm enough to support the large head.

  1. Rnd 31: 2 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (18)
  2. Rnd 32-35: sc around. (18)
  3. Rnd 36: 1 sc, inc repeat 9 times. (27)
  4. Rnd 37: sc around. (27)
  5. Rnd 38: 7 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 8 sc. (25)
  6. Rnd 39: sc around. (25)
  7. Rnd 40: 3 sc, dec repeat 5 times. (20)
  8. Rnd 41-42: sc around. (20)

Stuff firmly through the neck and upper chest. Insert extra stuffing or a short neck support if you prefer, because the hat adds visual weight and a stable neck helps the head sit centered.

Head

Use cream yarn. The head is large and gently rounded, with a full lower face and only a subtle forehead curve. Positioning of the eyes matters more than dramatic sculpting. Keep the face soft, centered, and symmetrical.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (30)
  6. Rnd 6: 4 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (36)
  7. Rnd 7: 5 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (42)
  8. Rnd 8: 6 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (48)
  9. Rnd 9: 7 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (54)
  10. Rnd 10-19: sc around. (54)

Place safety eyes between Rnds 13 and 14 with about 10 to 12 visible stitches between them. The photographed eyes are moderate in size, glossy black, and set wide enough to create a sweet, open expression.

Add stuffing gradually. Make the cheeks full by pressing stuffing low in the face, not only at the crown. This helps the mouth area sit forward very slightly.

  1. Rnd 20: 7 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (48)
  2. Rnd 21: 6 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (42)
  3. Rnd 22: 5 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (36)
  4. Rnd 23: 4 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (30)
  5. Rnd 24: 3 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (24)
  6. Rnd 25: 2 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (18)

Do not close yet if you prefer sewing the head after facial stitching. Otherwise finish:

  1. Rnd 26: 1 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (12)
  2. Rnd 27: dec around. (6)

Fasten off and close.

Face Shaping and Nose

Use a pale blush thread if you want gentle cheek tint, but keep it very subtle. The bunny in the image has a tiny soft pink triangular nose and a short center mouth line. The face should look composed, not smiling widely.

  • Stitch a small triangle nose between Rnds 15 and 16.
  • Bring the nose point slightly downward with one straight center stitch.
  • Add a tiny split under the nose if desired, but keep it minimal.
  • Lightly brush cheeks with pastel if you use cosmetic tint.

Arms Make 2

Use cream yarn. The arms are long, slim, and softly stuffed, with a slight natural bend from the way they are sewn to the body. They are not oversized and should reach roughly to the upper skirt area when attached.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3-5: sc around. (12)
  4. Rnd 6: 4 sc, dec, 4 sc, dec. (10)
  5. Rnd 7-19: sc around. (10)

Stuff the lower half lightly. Flatten the top and close with 5 sc through both sides, or sew closed after fastening off. Leave a long tail for sewing. Make the second arm the same.

Ears Make 2

Use beige yarn. The ears are long, softly drooping, and slightly flattened. They hang from high on the head and fall beside the face to about shoulder level. They are not overly stuffed. Keep them flexible.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4-7: sc around. (18)
  5. Rnd 8: 7 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec. (16)
  6. Rnd 9-22: sc around. (16)
  7. Rnd 23: 6 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec. (14)
  8. Rnd 24-28: sc around. (14)

Do not stuff. Flatten gently. Fasten off with a long tail. If you want more structure near the base, place a tiny bit of stuffing only in the top 2 rounds, but leave the rest flat.

Assembly of the Main Bunny Base

  • Sew the head securely to the neck with the face centered.
  • Sew ears to the upper sides of the head, slightly behind the eye line.
  • Let the ears angle downward naturally along the cheeks.
  • Sew arms at the upper torso so they hang beside the bodice line.
  • Check balance before adding clothing.

Dress

Bodice

The bodice is fitted, dark, and simple, with a modest V-shaped neckline look created by shaping and sleeve placement. Work directly onto the bunny body if preferred, or make it as a separate garment and sew it closed at the back.

For the cleanest fit, make it directly onto the torso. Join black yarn around the upper torso at the waistline. Work evenly around so the fabric hugs the body.

  1. Round A: Join yarn and work 24 sc evenly around the torso waist.
  2. Round B-C: sc around.
  3. Round D: 1 sc, dec repeat 8 times. (16)
  4. Round E-F: sc around. (16)

To shape the neckline, work short rows across the front and back rather than full rounds. Keep the front slightly lower than the back. The photographed neckline is neat and feminine without a deep opening.

  1. Row 1: 12 sc across front, turn.
  2. Row 2: dec, 8 sc, dec. (10)
  3. Row 3: 10 sc.

Repeat similarly for the back if making separately. Seam the shoulders. If crocheting directly on the doll, simply build the neckline area with carefully placed partial rows and secure the edges with slip stitches.

Puff Sleeves Make 2

The sleeves are cream and rounded, with small black flower details. Their shape should be puffy at the shoulder but compact overall. They sit high and full, creating the signature silhouette seen in the image.

  1. Rnd 1: With cream yarn, 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: BLO sc around. (18)
  5. Rnd 5: 1 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (12)
  6. Rnd 6: sc around. (12)

Fasten off, leaving a tail. Add tiny blossom details after sewing. Stitch the sleeve tops to the shoulder area so the puff sits outward and slightly upward, not drooping down the arm.

Skirt Base

The skirt is cream, full, and tiered-looking, with a soft ruffled lower section. It should flare outward enough to form the wide bell shape in the image. Work from the waist downward.

  1. Rnd 1: Join cream yarn around the waist beneath the bodice, 30 sc evenly around. (30)
  2. Rnd 2: 4 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (36)
  3. Rnd 3: sc around. (36)
  4. Rnd 4: 5 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (42)
  5. Rnd 5: sc around. (42)
  6. Rnd 6: 6 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (48)
  7. Rnd 7-8: sc around. (48)

To create the lower volume, switch to hdc or dc in a controlled way. This gives softness without making the skirt too stiff. The photographed hem has movement, so allow a little drape.

  1. Rnd 9: BLO hdc around. (48)
  2. Rnd 10: hdc around. (48)
  3. Rnd 11: 7 hdc, inc repeat 6 times. (54)
  4. Rnd 12: hdc around. (54)
  5. Rnd 13: 8 hdc, inc repeat 6 times. (60)
  6. Rnd 14: hdc around. (60)

For the hem frill, add a final decorative round:

  1. Rnd 15: In each stitch work 1 sc, 1 hdc, or for more flare alternate 1 hdc and 2 hdc in every second stitch.

Block lightly with your fingers so the lower edge ripples rather than stands straight out.

Waist Tie

Use black yarn. Chain a long cord that wraps around the waist and ties in front. A chained cord or Romanian cord both work well. Keep it slim. The bow in the image is small and centered.

  • Make a cord long enough to wrap and tie neatly.
  • Thread it through the waistline between bodice and skirt.
  • Tie a modest bow at center front.

Blossom Motifs for Skirt, Sleeves, and Hat

The floral print look is essential. Keep each blossom tiny. The effect should resemble scattered miniature daisies or simple blossoms, not large appliqués. You can either stitch them directly with contrast yarn or make extremely small motifs and tack them on.

Easy Tiny Blossom

  1. With black yarn, make a tiny center knot stitch or one French-knot-style wrap if sewing.
  2. With cream yarn around it, stitch 4 to 5 tiny petals using straight stitches or miniature detached chains.
  3. For an all-crochet option, make MR, ch 2, 1 sl st into ring repeat 5 times, pull tight, fasten off.

Scatter blossoms over the skirt in balanced spacing. Concentrate them lightly, not densely. Add several on each sleeve and multiple around the hat crown and brim edge. Irregular spacing looks more natural than a strict grid.

Hat

The hat is black with a rounded bucket-like crown and a soft brim that turns downward. Cream blossoms decorate the surface. A thin cream accent appears near the brim line underneath, which you can imitate with surface slip stitch or a contrast round.

Hat Crown

  1. Rnd 1: With black yarn, 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (30)
  6. Rnd 6: 4 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (36)
  7. Rnd 7: 5 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (42)
  8. Rnd 8-12: sc around. (42)

Hat Brim

  1. Rnd 13: BLO 6 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (48)
  2. Rnd 14: sc around. (48)
  3. Rnd 15: 7 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (54)
  4. Rnd 16: sc around. (54)
  5. Rnd 17: 8 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (60)
  6. Rnd 18: sc around. (60)
  7. Rnd 19: sl st loosely around for a refined edge, or sc around for a firmer brim.

📌Thank you for reading the article

Add cream blossoms to the crown and upper brim. Then add one subtle cream surface detail line close to the inside brim edge to echo the photographed contrast border.

Crossbody Purse

The purse is small, dark, rounded-rectangle shaped, and hangs at the bunny’s left side. The strap crosses from one shoulder across the chest. The scale should stay delicate so it does not hide the dress details.

Bag Body

  1. Ch 7.
  2. Rnd 1: Starting in second chain from hook, 5 sc, 3 sc in last chain, work opposite side with 4 sc, 2 sc in last. (14)
  3. Rnd 2: inc, 4 sc, 3 inc, 4 sc, 2 inc. (20)
  4. Rnd 3-6: sc around. (20)

Flatten and sew the top closed, or make two panels and seam them. Add a tiny flap if desired, though the photographed bag reads more like a simple soft satchel.

Strap

  • Chain a strap long enough to cross the body diagonally.
  • Work one return row of slip stitches or single crochet for strength.
  • Sew strap to the upper corners of the bag.

For a more exact visual match, you may wrap the crocheted strap with a floral ribbon or stitch a narrow printed tape over it.

Shoes Make 2

The shoes are classic dark Mary Jane-style shoes with a rounded toe and a front strap illusion. They should fit snugly over the feet without adding excessive bulk.

  1. With black yarn, ch 5.
  2. Rnd 1: 3 sc, 3 sc in last chain, 2 sc opposite side, 2 sc in last. (10)
  3. Rnd 2: inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, 2 inc. (16)
  4. Rnd 3: BLO sc around. (16)
  5. Rnd 4-5: sc around. (16)

Test fit over the foot. If needed, add one more round. For the top opening, leave a small oval space and stitch a short strap across the front. Sew or slip the shoe onto the foot securely.

Fox Companion

The fox is a separate small amigurumi figure standing upright. It has an orange head and body, white muzzle and tail tip, black feet, a pale blue neck scarf, and tan overalls. One arm appears to hold a book, while a small bag hangs on the other side.

Fox Legs Make 2

Use black for the feet, then change to orange.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc around in black. (12)
  4. Rnd 4: change to orange, sc around. (12)
  5. Rnd 5-8: sc around. (12)

Make two. Fasten off one only.

Fox Body

  1. Join legs with ch 2.
  2. Rnd 9: work around both legs and chain spaces. About 28 sts total.
  3. Rnd 10-12: sc around.
  4. Rnd 13: dec evenly to about 24 sts.
  5. Rnd 14-16: sc around.
  6. Rnd 17: dec evenly to about 20 sts.

Stuff firmly but keep the body compact. The fox should look slim and slightly stiff, as though wearing little overalls.

Fox Head

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (24)
  5. Rnd 5: 3 sc, inc repeat 6 times. (30)
  6. Rnd 6-10: sc around. (30)

Insert small eyes between Rnds 7 and 8. Add a white muzzle patch and a tiny black nose. The head is slightly angular in feeling because of the muzzle, but still cute and rounded overall.

  1. Rnd 11: 3 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (24)
  2. Rnd 12: 2 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (18)
  3. Rnd 13: 1 sc, dec repeat 6 times. (12)
  4. Rnd 14: dec around. (6)

Fox Ears Make 2

  • Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR.
  • Rnd 2: inc around. (8)
  • Rnd 3: sc around.

📌Thank you for reading the article

Flatten slightly into small triangles and sew to the top of the head.

Fox Arms Make 2

  • Start with black, 6 sc in MR.
  • Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  • Rnd 3: change to orange, sc around.
  • Rnd 4-8: sc around.

Stuff lightly and sew to sides.

Fox Tail

  • With orange, 6 sc in MR.
  • Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  • Rnd 3-7: sc around.
  • Change to white for last 2 rounds.
  • Stuff lightly, curve gently, and sew at the back.

Fox Clothing and Accessories

Use tan yarn to make a simple bib front and overall straps. Wrap a small blue scarf around the neck. Add a tiny rectangular book in dark rose or burgundy and a small side satchel in muted blue-green if desired.

  • Overall bib: make a small rectangle in rows of sc.
  • Straps: chain two narrow cords and sew over shoulders.
  • Scarf: chain enough to wrap the neck once and tie or cross in front.
  • Book: crochet two tiny flat rectangles and seam lightly around stuffing or cardboard insert.

Mini Tea Tray Set

The display includes a tiny tray or mat, a small cup on a saucer, and a blue decorative piece that can read as a tiny flower vase, teapot accent, or folded floral ornament. Keep everything miniature and decorative rather than fully functional.

Tray or Mat

Use cream as the base and optional soft earth tones or floral tones along the edge.

  1. Ch 9.
  2. Rnd 1: Work oval sc around chain foundation to form a small tray mat.
  3. Rnd 2-3: sc around, increasing gently at both ends.
  4. Final round: optional picot-like or color-edged finish.

Saucer

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR.
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3: sc, inc repeat 6 times. (18)
  4. Rnd 4: BLO sc around for a tiny rim.

Cup

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR.
  2. Rnd 2: inc around. (12)
  3. Rnd 3-5: sc around.
  4. Rnd 6: BLO sc around.

Add a tiny handle with 3 to 4 chains secured back to the cup side.

Blue Accent Piece

Make a tiny rounded shape in soft blue and white. It may be interpreted as a floral ornament, small creamer, or decorative vase. The photograph is miniature and stylized, so the main goal is preserving the color note and tabletop balance.

  • Make 6 sc in MR.
  • Increase to 12.
  • Work 2 to 3 plain rounds.
  • Add a small gathered top or tiny protrusion if you want a vessel shape.

Detailed Placement Guide

  • The hat should sit low enough to frame the face but not cover the eyes.
  • The ears should emerge from beneath the hat and fall along the sides of the head.
  • The purse strap crosses diagonally from one shoulder to the opposite hip.
  • The bow is centered at the waist front.
  • The skirt should spread outward enough to almost touch the tabletop around the bunny.
  • The fox stands slightly forward and to one side of the bunny, not directly centered.
  • The tea tray sits near the opposite foot to balance the display visually.

Optional Refinements for a Closer Match

If you want the outfit to resemble the photographed styling more closely, use very fine thread embroidery for the blossom scatter. Keep each flower tiny and spaced irregularly. The hat flowers can be slightly larger than the sleeve flowers, while skirt flowers should stay the most delicate.

A narrow floral ribbon on the purse strap gives a close visual echo to the image. You can also line the inside brim of the hat with a contrast slip-stitch round in cream for that lightly edged look visible around the lower brim.

For the skirt, lightly steam the ruffle from a distance or finger-shape it while damp so it falls into soft waves. Avoid stiff starch. The original look is polished, but still soft and handmade.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing

  • Sew all major body parts securely before dressing the bunny fully.
  • Check that both eyes align evenly and that the nose sits centered.
  • Attach sleeves high on the shoulders so the dress silhouette stays round at the top.
  • Tie the waist cord after the skirt is fully arranged.
  • Position the hat slightly forward for a gentle framed-face effect.
  • Sew the purse so it rests naturally without twisting.
  • Arrange fox, tray, cup, and blue accent as a balanced display scene.

Care Notes

  • Display indoors and keep away from long periods of direct sun.
  • Dust gently with clean dry hands or a very soft brush.
  • Do not hang the doll by the hat, ears, or purse strap.
  • If gifting to a child, embroider eyes instead of using safety eyes.

Quick Checklist Before You Finish

  • Head centered and stable.
  • Ears symmetrical and softly drooping.
  • Eyes level and nose centered.
  • Bodice fitted smoothly.
  • Skirt full and evenly flared.
  • Sleeves puffed evenly on both sides.
  • Hat brim balanced and not warped.
  • Purse sitting diagonally across the body.
  • Shoes matched in height and angle.
  • Fox and tea accessories completed for the full scene.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines

Spot clean whenever possible using a lightly damp cloth and a very small amount of mild soap. Dab gently instead of rubbing. Reshape the stuffed areas with your fingers while drying, especially the bunny’s cheeks, skirt hem, and the fox’s head.

If deeper cleaning becomes necessary, hand wash briefly in cool water with mild detergent. Do not twist or wring. Press in a towel to remove moisture, then air dry flat. Keep the hat brim, purse strap, and tiny blossoms arranged neatly during drying.

Store the set in a breathable box or on a shelf away from humidity. Tissue paper around the hat brim and skirt ruffle helps preserve shape. Avoid airtight plastic for long-term storage, especially in warm conditions, because trapped moisture can affect yarn texture.
