This sweet crochet design features a chocolate-brown puppy with floppy ears, glossy eyes, a rounded muzzle, and soft embroidered details. The puppy wears sky-blue overalls decorated with tiny yellow-and-white daisies, blue sandals, a yellow crossbody purse, two daisy hair clips with blue ribbon drops, and a small cream party hat with a golden scalloped brim and tassel. The set also includes a matching blue sunhat, a tiny watering can, and a potted daisy flower.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US crochet terms and is designed as a detailed amigurumi-style project. The puppy is worked mostly in continuous rounds, then the clothing and accessories are crocheted separately and sewn on. The finished puppy has a large round head, a smaller soft body, short arms, rounded feet, and long floppy ears just like the photo.
The overalls are made to sit high on the chest, curve around the belly, and gather slightly at the leg openings with white ruffles. The decorative flowers are small but important because they create the cheerful garden look shown in the image.
Finished Size
- Puppy height: about 8.5 inches from feet to top of head, not including the party hat.
- Puppy height with party hat: about 10 inches.
- Blue sunhat: about 4.25 inches wide.
- Watering can: about 2.25 inches long.
- Potted flower: about 3 inches tall.

Gauge and Hook Notes
Gauge is not strict for this project, but your stitches should be firm enough that stuffing does not show. With worsted weight yarn and a 3.0 mm hook, 6 single crochet stitches measure about 1 inch across. If your fabric has gaps, use a smaller hook.
For the flowers, purse, facial embroidery, and small accessories, use a slightly smaller hook if you want crisp details. The photo shows compact stitches, rounded shaping, and firm stuffed pieces, so keep your tension even and tight.
Important Construction Notes
- Work the puppy head, body, arms, legs, ears, and muzzle separately.
- The body is made in brown first, then the blue overalls are crocheted and sewn over it.
- The head should be larger than the body for a cute amigurumi proportion.
- The muzzle is placed low on the face, centered between the eyes.
- The long ears are sewn on both sides of the head and hang downward.
- The sandals are made in blue and sewn around the brown feet.
- The purse strap crosses from the puppy’s left shoulder down to the right side of the belly.
- The party hat sits slightly toward the back top of the head, with a golden tassel at the point.
Brown Puppy Head

Insert safety eyes between R13 and R14, about 8 stitches apart. The eyes should sit slightly above the muzzle area and toward the front of the head. Add a tiny white embroidered highlight beside each eye if desired.
Stuff the head firmly. Do not close the head completely until the muzzle is placed and you are satisfied with the facial shape. FO with a long tail after R23 if sewing the head separately to the body.
Rounded Muzzle
Use chocolate brown yarn. The muzzle should be slightly lighter in shape, not necessarily in color, and should protrude softly from the lower center of the face.

Stuff lightly. Flatten the back edge with your fingers and pin the muzzle between R14 and R20 of the head. The upper edge should sit just below the eyes. Sew around the muzzle carefully, adding a little more stuffing before closing the final stitches.
Nose and Mouth Embroidery
Use dark brown or black yarn. Embroider a small triangular nose at the top center of the muzzle, about 4 stitches wide. Fill the triangle with horizontal satin stitches. From the bottom point of the nose, stitch one vertical line downward for 3 rounds, then split into a soft Y-shaped mouth.
To match the photo, keep the mouth gentle and short. Do not make the smile too wide. The puppy’s expression should look sweet and calm.
Long Floppy Ears
Make 2 with chocolate brown yarn. The ears are long, rounded, and slightly flat. Do not stuff them. Work in rounds, then flatten.

Flatten the ear so the decreases sit near the lower edge. Sc through both layers across the top with 4 sc to close. FO with a long tail. Sew each ear to the side of the head from about R9 to R13. Angle the ears downward so they frame the face.
Brown Puppy Body
Use chocolate brown yarn. The body is pear-shaped, wider at the bottom and narrower at the neck. It will be partly covered by the overalls, but the brown chest and shoulders should still show above the blue bib.

Toe Embroidery
Use pale pink or cream embroidery thread. On each foot, stitch three short vertical toe marks across the front. Add one small oval paw pad on the outer side of each paw if desired, matching the pale details visible on the puppy’s paws.
Arms
Make 2 with chocolate brown yarn. The arms are short and rounded, with tiny pale paw stitches at the end.

Sew the daisy to the top of the green stem. Make sure it faces forward and sits above the pot like the flower in the photo.
Attaching the Clothing and Main Details
Place the overalls on the puppy before sewing the arms if you prefer easier dressing. Slide the legs through the pant openings and pull the bib upward. The top edge should sit across the upper belly, below the muzzle and neck.
Sew the overalls to the body with small hidden stitches along the waist, side seams, and the upper bib corners. Do not sew every stitch too tightly; the garment should look soft and slightly raised.
Sew the arms after the overalls are positioned. The arms should rest over the sides of the bib and pants, giving the puppy a cuddly pose. Add a few holding stitches between the arm and body if you want them to stay forward.
Flower Placement Guide
- Place one small daisy on the upper right side of the blue overalls.
- Place one daisy on the lower left belly area.
- Place one daisy near the right hip area, close to where the purse hangs.
- Place one small daisy on each sandal strap.
- Place one daisy on the yellow purse flap.
- Place one daisy on each side of the head, near the base of the ears.
- Place one larger daisy on the blue sunhat band.
- Place one large daisy at the top of the potted flower stem.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check the face first. The muzzle should be centered and slightly protruding. The eyes should look even, glossy, and placed above the muzzle. If the face looks flat, add a few shaping stitches from the back of the head to the muzzle area and pull gently.
Sew the ears securely on both sides of the head. The top of each ear should sit slightly above eye level, while the lower ends hang beside the cheeks. The ears should be floppy, not stiff.
Add the daisy hair clips after the ears are sewn. Position each flower just above the ear seam. Let the blue ribbon drops hang downward beside the face.
Attach the party hat last. Place it on the upper center of the head, slightly tilted. Sew around the yellow scalloped brim with small stitches so the cone stays upright.
Place the purse across the body after the overalls are complete. The strap should run diagonally across the chest, and the purse should rest near the puppy’s right hip. Sew the purse lightly to the overalls so it does not swing too much.
Care Notes
- Spot clean with a damp cloth whenever possible.
- Do not soak the puppy if safety eyes, embroidery, or wire-supported accessories are used.
- Let the piece air dry fully before storing.
- Keep the hat brim and flowers flat while drying so they keep their shape.
- For a child-safe version, embroider the eyes instead of using safety eyes and avoid all wire.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The head is firmly attached and does not wobble.
- The muzzle is centered below the eyes.
- The ears hang evenly on both sides.
- The overalls sit high on the body and have white ruffles at the leg openings.
- The yellow straps meet the bib and back waist neatly.
- The purse crosses the chest diagonally and sits at the hip.
- The sandals show brown toes with small embroidered lines.
- The party hat has a yellow scalloped brim and tassel.
- The blue sunhat has a yellow band and daisy decoration.
- The watering can and potted daisy are shaped and stable.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To preserve the shape, avoid machine washing. Gently remove dust with a soft brush, especially around the flowers, hat brim, purse strap, and ruffled pant legs. These small details can bend if rubbed too hard.
If the puppy becomes lightly dirty, dab the area with cool water and mild soap. Do not twist or wring the fabric. Press gently with a clean towel and let the piece dry naturally in a shaded area.
Store the puppy upright or lying flat in a breathable cotton bag. Keep the accessories beside it rather than pressing them under heavy items. This helps the sunhat brim, party hat, ears, and flower petals stay neat.
For long-term display, keep the crochet set away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading. A dry shelf or covered display box is ideal, especially if you want the blue overalls, yellow purse, and white daisies to remain bright.
Finishing Thought
Your brown puppy in overalls is now complete, along with its tiny garden accessories. The mix of floppy ears, daisy decorations, blue clothing, yellow purse, sandals, party hat, sunhat, watering can, and potted flower creates the cheerful handmade look shown in the image.
