This sweet crochet scene recreates a soft cream nursery inside an open gift box. The design includes a fluffy lamb in a pale yellow and aqua striped romper, a tiny crib with a teddy bear, a crescent moon pillow, rainbow wall décor, star bunting, colorful pom-poms, a toy shelf, folded blankets, a rocking chair, a cloud rug, and a mint ribbon bow around the box.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This project is made as a miniature crochet nursery diorama. The base is a rectangular cream gift box with a raised back wall and soft rounded edges. The lamb stands at the left side of the crib, leaning slightly forward as if tucking the teddy bear into bed.
The finished scene has many small parts, so it is best to make each piece separately, block the flat panels, and assemble slowly. Use firm stuffing for the lamb and furniture, but keep the bedding, wall decorations, and cloud rug soft and slightly flexible.
- Skill level: Intermediate, with beginner-friendly step-by-step construction.
- Finished box size: About 10 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 7 inches tall when made with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook.
- Lamb height: About 4.5 inches tall.
- Main crochet style: Amigurumi, flat panels, surface stitching, appliqué, and small accessories.
- US crochet terms are used throughout.
Materials
- DK cotton or cotton-blend yarn in warm cream for the gift box, walls, crib, lamb body, and rug.
- Off-white textured or boucle yarn for the lamb wool cap.
- Light beige yarn for lamb muzzle and hooves.
- Pale yellow yarn for the romper bodice and crescent moon.
- Aqua yarn for romper stripes, straps, buttons, bunting stars, and blanket accents.

Gauge and Working Notes
For this project, exact gauge is less important than firm, even stitches. Your amigurumi pieces should have no visible holes after stuffing. If your stitches look loose, go down one hook size.
- For flat panels, work slightly tighter than normal so the walls stand neatly.
- Chain 1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch.
- Join rounds only where the pattern says to join. Most amigurumi parts are worked in continuous rounds.
- Stuff the lamb head, body, arms, legs, and teddy bear firmly but do not overstuff tiny furniture.
- Use plastic canvas inserts for the box and crib so the scene keeps the same structured shape as the image.
Main Gift Box Base
The box is the most important part of the nursery scene. It should look like a soft cream gift box with thick rounded edges. The base sits flat on the table, the front wall is low, and the back wall rises high behind the lamb and crib.
Bottom Rectangle
Use warm cream yarn and a 2.5 mm hook.
- Ch 41.
- R1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. 40 sts.
- R2: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. 40 sts.
- R3-R34: Repeat R2. You should have a firm rectangle about 10 inches wide and 8 inches deep.
- Do not fasten off. Continue to the border.

Outer Front Ribbon
Use real mint grosgrain ribbon to match the smooth bow in the photo. Wrap the ribbon around the outside front of the box, just below the rim. Tie a neat bow at the center front. Stitch the ribbon invisibly at both side corners and under the bow knot so it stays in place.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing

Sew the head to the body with a slight forward tilt. This creates the gentle caretaking pose shown in the image. Add a few hidden stitches between the lamb arm and crib rail so the lamb looks connected to the nursery scene.
- Use pink blush yarn or a tiny amount of fabric-safe blush under the lamb eyes.
- Keep the mouth very small and centered on the muzzle.
- Make sure both ears hang downward and are not pulled too tightly.
- Fluff the wool cap by separating the bobbles gently with your fingers.
Care Notes
This crochet nursery is a decorative keepsake. Because it includes small parts, plastic inserts, and ribbon, it is not recommended as a toy for babies or young children.
- Spot clean only with a damp cloth.
- Do not machine wash if plastic canvas, cardboard, glue, or ribbon has been used.
- Keep away from heavy moisture and direct sunlight.
- Store upright so the back wall and crib do not bend.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To keep the nursery gift box looking fresh, dust it regularly with a soft dry brush. Brush gently around the lamb wool, teddy bear, star garland, and cloud rug because these raised textures can catch dust.
If a small area becomes dirty, dab it with cool water and a mild soap solution. Do not rub hard, because the surface stitches and tiny appliqués may loosen. Press with a clean towel and allow the piece to air dry completely.
For long-term storage, place the finished nursery inside a breathable cotton bag or a clean display box. Add tissue paper around the lamb, crib, moon, and rocking chair so the small pieces keep their shape.
Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of the crochet box. The tall back wall, crib rails, and chair rockers are delicate. With gentle care, this Lamb Sunny Nursery Room Gift Box will remain a charming handmade keepsake for many seasons.
