Finished Size
- Garden base: about 16 in wide x 20 in deep.
- Bellflower schoolhouse: about 8 in wide x 9.5 in tall, including roof stem.
- Teacher bee: about 4.5 in tall.
- Student bees: about 3.25 in tall when seated.
- Chalkboard: about 3.5 in wide x 2.5 in tall.
- Timetable board: about 2.75 in wide x 2.25 in tall.
Skill Level
Intermediate. This project uses amigurumi shaping, flat crochet panels, surface embroidery, small appliques, shaping with increases and decreases, and simple wire-free sculpting. A confident beginner can make it slowly by completing one small section at a time.

Gauge
Gauge is not strict for this decorative piece, but the stitches should be firm enough so stuffing does not show. With worsted weight yarn and a 3.0 mm hook, 8 sc rounds should measure about 2 in across. Use a smaller hook if your fabric looks loose.
Construction Notes
The schoolhouse is built as a round blue cottage with a flat bottom so it sits securely on the green base. The lavender bellflower roof is made from five long petals sewn around the top, then covered by blue-green sepals and a curved stem. The doorway is left open so the tiny shelf, books, and stool can be seen inside.
The base is a large flat crochet rectangle with rounded corners and a raised border. Small accessories are sewn on after the main house is attached. For a stable display, place plastic canvas or cardboard between two base panels before closing the edging.

Assembly Order
- Prepare the firm green base first.
- Sew the blue schoolhouse body to the back center of the base, leaving about 2 in of green base visible behind it and plenty of classroom space in front.
- Attach the cream doorway, dark interior, bookshelf, tiny books, and inner stool.
- Sew the lavender roof petals around the upper house, then add the blue-green sepals, curved stem, and roof flower.
- Add the cream windows and blue swirl decorations to the front sides of the cottage.
- Sew the stepping stones from the doorway toward the front center.
- Attach the leaf table in the middle and place three leaf chairs around it.
- Sew the three student bees to the chairs, positioning their arms around books and pencils.
- Attach the teacher desk, chalkboard, and teacher bee to the right side.
- Add the sign, lamp, bee skep, daisies, sunflowers, timetable board, fence, butterflies, ramp, stools, honey pot, and remaining classroom accessories.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check that every bee faces toward the center classroom scene. The teacher bee should face the students and chalkboard, while the students should look toward their books or the leaf table. Use tiny hidden stitches to secure each bee to the chair or base.
For the faces, keep the eyes low and rounded on the yellow heads. Add short smiles, small blush stitches, and two firm antennae. If the heads wobble, add extra stitches at the neck before attaching the wings.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a soft damp cloth.
- Do not machine wash because the base, signs, chalkboard, and tiny accessories may bend.
- Keep away from pets and very young children because the project includes small sewn pieces.
- Store flat in a dry place so the flower roof and classroom accessories keep their shape.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Schoolhouse: blue round body, cream arched doorway, visible shelf, books, stool, round windows, and swirl details.
- Roof: five lavender petals, blue-green sepals, curved stem, and small flower.
- Bees: one teacher bee, three student bees, wings, antennae, faces, arms, and legs.
- Classroom: leaf table, three leaf chairs, books, pencils, teacher desk, chalkboard, and chalk.
- Garden: sign, lamp, bee skep, daisies, sunflowers, stepping stones, fence, butterflies, timetable board, ramp, stools, and honey pot.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a lint roller or soft brush to remove dust from the roof petals, base, and bees. For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen a white cloth with cool water and press gently on the stained area. Do not rub the embroidered words, timetable lines, or bee faces.
To preserve the shape, support the bellflower roof with tissue paper when storing. Keep the diorama away from direct sunlight for long periods, especially the lavender roof and yellow bee heads. If a small piece loosens, sew it back with matching yarn rather than pulling the original stitches tight.
