This sweet crochet scene features a cream swan carriage cottage with a soft pink domed roof, rounded cottage walls, heart windows, a pink arched door, wagon wheels, and a graceful swan neck at the front. Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US crochet terms. The finished project is a detailed amigurumi display piece inspired by the picture. The cottage is worked as a soft cylindrical carriage with a separate pink roof, decorative windows, an arched door, large side wheels, and a swan head and neck attached to the left front side.
The full design is built on an oval meadow mat. Each small accessory is crocheted separately and sewn onto the base. The pattern is best for confident beginners to intermediate crocheters because it includes shaping, surface stitching, tiny accessories, and final sculpting.

- Meadow base: about 13 in wide and 10 in deep.
- Cottage body: about 5.5 in wide, 4 in deep, and 3.25 in tall before roof.

- Bunnies: about 2.25 in tall each.
- Total display height: about 5.5 in including swan head.

Gauge and Stitch Style
For the amigurumi pieces, work tightly so the stuffing does not show. With DK cotton and a 2.25 mm hook, 6 sc should measure about 1 inch. Exact gauge is less important than keeping all pieces proportional.
Use continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join. Mark the first stitch of each round. Stuff pieces firmly but do not overstuff small parts, especially the swan neck, bunny arms, and milk bottles.

- Cottage wall: warm cream.
- Roof, door, window frames, wheel centers: soft pink.
- Swan body and neck: ivory or warm white.

- Sew the smaller feather on top of the larger feather.
Sew this feather wing to the right wall of the cottage, pointing slightly backward. Keep it small so it does not cover the round window.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the cottage body firmly to the back center of the meadow base. Use cream yarn and stitch around the lower wall so the cottage does not wobble.
- Sew the roof to the cottage top. Make sure the scalloped edge sits evenly around the body.
- Attach the swan neck, head, beak, and chest panel. Curve the neck before final sewing.
- Sew on the wheels, door, step, heart window, round window, and small side feather.
- Arrange the stone path and sew every stone down securely.
- Sew the standing bunny, cart, bottles, sign, tiny animal friend, basket, seated bunny, table, chairs, fence, butterflies, flower clusters, lavender bed, and grass tufts.
- Use black thread to refine the swan eyes, bunny eyes, bunny smiles, and tiny animal face.
- Add pink cheek stitches to the bunnies and a very small cheek stitch under the swan eye if desired.
Check the display from the front, left, and right sides as you sew. The image has a full miniature world feeling, so the accessories should not sit in one straight line. Angle the cart, chairs, sign, and flowers slightly for a natural handmade scene.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Do not machine wash because the cottage, sign, table, fence, and small accessories may bend or loosen.
- Keep away from high heat, direct strong sunlight, and moisture.
- If using wire inside the swan neck, this project is best as decor and not as a toy for small children.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Roof is centered and slightly overhanging.
- Swan neck curves smoothly and is firmly attached.
- Door sits between the two wheels.
- Heart window and round window have visible brown cross details.
- Stone path leads clearly from the door to the front edge.
- Milk bottles stand upright in the wagon.
- Both bunnies have ears, arms, feet, eyes, nose, smile, and cheeks.
- Fence curves along the right side and butterflies are attached.
- Flowers, lavender, and grass tufts fill empty green areas without crowding the cottage.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a soft makeup brush or clean paintbrush to remove dust from the roof, wheels, flowers, and fence. Brush in the direction of the stitches so the yarn surface stays smooth.
For small stains, dampen a white cloth with cool water and gently dab the area. Do not rub the embroidered faces, sign lettering, or butterfly centers.
Store the finished piece in a dry display box or on a shelf away from pets. If storing long term, support the swan neck with tissue paper so the curve does not flatten.
To refresh the meadow, gently lift grass fringes with a yarn needle. If any flower stem bends, reshape it with your fingers and secure it again with one hidden stitch.
