This garden gray cat is a soft amigurumi doll with a large rounded head, white muzzle, amber eyes, a sunflower sweater, blue shorts, yellow sandals, a flower bag, a straw sun hat, a tiny bee, and a small watering can. The design is built with firm stitches, shaped limbs, layered appliques, and careful embroidery so the finished crochet cat matches the sweet handmade look in the image.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge and Stitch Style
Use tight amigurumi tension so the stuffing does not show. A good gauge is about 6 sc and 6 rounds per inch. The cat in the image has visible rounded stitches, but the fabric is firm, compact, and evenly stuffed.
Work most pieces in continuous spiral rounds. Do not join unless the pattern says to join. Stuff gradually as you go, especially the head, body, legs, and arms. Keep the face slightly wider than the back of the head by placing the muzzle and cheeks low and centered.
Main Cat Head
The head is oversized compared with the body, with a round gray top, white lower face, and a white blaze running up the center forehead. The lower face must look full and soft, so do not over-tighten the muzzle stitches.

- FO and secure both wings with one hidden stitch.
Embroider two tiny black eyes on the yellow front. The bee can be displayed separately or attached to a thin clear thread near the watering can.
Facial Embroidery and Eye Details
The orange eyes are a major feature of this cat. To match the image, add a black vertical pupil line over each eye if your safety eyes are plain amber. Use a fine black thread and stitch carefully through the head fabric beside the eye, not through the hard plastic.
- Place a small white highlight stitch near the upper outer edge of each eye.
- Keep both highlights in the same direction so the face looks lively.
- Add three short cheek whiskers on each side using gray thread on the white muzzle.
- Do not make the whiskers too long; they should stay inside the white lower face patch.
Joining Head to Body
Before sewing, pin the head to the body and check the balance. The head is large, so the neck must be strong. The brown collar should touch the lower curve of the head, and the face should point forward.
- Use the long brown or tan body tail to sew the head to the body.
- Pass the needle through R21-R22 of the head and R21-R22 of the body.
- Sew around the neck twice for strength.
- Add extra stuffing inside the neck area before closing the final gap.
- Make sure the white face patch is centered over the sweater sunflower.
Clothing Surface Details
Surface stitches help the doll look more like the image. Use them sparingly and keep them neat, because the sweater and shorts already have strong colors.
- Use brown yarn to add one line of surface slip stitch around the sweater collar.
- Use brown yarn to add one line around each sleeve cuff.
- Use denim blue yarn to define the lower edge of each shorts leg.
- Use tan yarn to make two tiny sweater shoulder stitches near the arms.
- Use green embroidery to add veins to all leaves.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the head firmly to the body, checking that the face looks straight from the front.
- Sew both ears high on the head and angle them outward.
- Sew the flower crown beside the right ear, layering leaves behind the flowers.
- Attach the arms at the shoulder line and angle them downward.
- Sew legs under the shorts so the cat lies or sits naturally.
- Attach the tail to the back-left side of the shorts.
- Sew the large sunflower to the sweater front and small sunflowers to sleeves.
- Place the sunflower bag diagonally across the body and tack the strap at the shoulder.
- Sew sandals onto the white feet and attach one tiny bee charm to each sandal.
- Finish the nose, mouth, pupils, eye highlights, whiskers, and toe lines.
Care Notes
Spot clean the doll with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak the safety eyes, flower appliques, or bag strap. If the doll is made for a child, sew every applique very securely and avoid small detachable accessories.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Head: gray round head, white lower face, white forehead blaze, amber eyes, pink nose.
- Ears: two gray triangular ears with pale inner patches.
- Outfit: tan sunflower sweater, brown collar and cuffs, blue shorts.
- Legs: white paws, gray upper sections, yellow sandals, bee charms.
- Accessories: sunflower bag, straw sun hat, watering can, tiny bee.
- Flowers: sunflower on sweater, sleeves, bag, hat, and small head flowers.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Keep the finished cat away from direct sunlight for long periods, especially the yellow petals and blue shorts. Store it in a dry place with the hat and watering can beside the doll, not pressed under heavy items.
To refresh the shape, gently squeeze the head and body with clean hands. Use a yarn needle to lift flattened petals back into place. Trim loose fuzz carefully, but do not cut close to seams or embroidered details.
If the bag strap stretches, remove the hidden shoulder tack, shorten the strap by a few stitches, and sew it back in place. If the hat brim curls too much, steam lightly from a safe distance and flatten it with your fingers while warm.
