Pattern Overview
This pattern is worked mainly in continuous spiral rounds using tight single crochet stitches. The finished fox is approximately 14 inches tall when made with DK-weight cotton yarn and a 2.5 mm crochet hook.
The sweater, sandals, satchel, sun hat, mushroom, and cup are made separately. Stitch markers are important because most amigurumi sections are not joined at the end of each round.

Important Pattern Notes
Use the yarn-under single crochet method when possible. This produces the compact X-shaped stitches visible on the fox. Keep the tension firm enough that the stuffing cannot be seen between the stitches.
Unless instructed otherwise, work in continuous spiral rounds. Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of every round and move it upward after each completed round.
Stuff the head and body firmly, but stuff the arms, ears, and tail more lightly. Overstuffing the smaller pieces may change their intended shape and make accurate assembly difficult.
Fox Head
Use burnt orange yarn and the 2.5 mm hook. The head is a broad rounded shape with a slightly narrower lower section.

Fasten off, leaving a 20-inch tail for attaching the head to the body.
White Eye Patches
Make two with smooth white yarn and the 2 mm hook. These small ovals create the visible white border around the large brown eyes.
- Ch 5.
- R1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, sc in the first ch, sc in the next 2 ch, 4 sc in the final ch.
- Continue along the unused side of the foundation chain. Sc in the next 2 ch and work 3 sc in the final ch. 12 sts.
- Sl st into the first sc and fasten off.
Insert one safety eye through the center of each white patch. Position the eyes between head R14 and R15, approximately 9 visible stitches apart.
The lower edges of the white patches should angle slightly inward. Secure the eye washers only after checking that both eyes are level.
White Muzzle Pieces
Make two matching muzzle ovals with white yarn.
- Ch 4.
- R1: Starting in the second ch, sc in the first 2 ch, 4 sc in the final ch, sc in the next ch on the opposite side, and 3 sc in the final ch. 10 sts.
- R2: Inc, sc, inc in each of the next 4 sts, sc, and inc in each of the final 3 sts. 18 sts.
- Sl st into the first st and fasten off with a long sewing tail.
Position the muzzle ovals side by side between head R17 and R22. Their inner edges should overlap slightly beneath the nose.
Add a small amount of stuffing beneath each oval while sewing. This produces the soft, rounded muzzle visible in the reference design.
Nose and Mouth
Place the black safety nose between the two muzzle pieces at approximately head R18. The widest portion of the nose should rest above the overlapping muzzle edges.
With black embroidery yarn, sew one short vertical line downward from the center of the nose. Divide the lower end into two gentle curved stitches to form the smiling mouth.
Add one tiny black stitch beneath the mouth if a more defined lower lip is desired. Do not pull the embroidery too tightly.
Fluffy White Cheeks
Make two cheek patches with white fluffy yarn. If fluffy yarn is difficult to see, hold it together with one strand of smooth white yarn.
- R1: Work 6 sc into an MR. 6 sts.
- R2: Inc in every st around. 12 sts.
- R3: Repeat 1 sc, inc around. 18 sts.
- Fasten off with a long sewing tail.
Pin one cheek patch directly outside each muzzle oval. The patches should extend from approximately head R17 to R22 and partially cover the lower outside edge of each eye patch.
Sew only around the outer edge. Gently brush the fluffy yarn outward after assembly to create the soft fox cheek effect.
Black-Tipped Fox Ears
Make two outer ear pieces. Begin with black yarn and work in turned rows.

Add one short dark brown embroidered line above the inner edge of each eye to create the expressive eyebrow detail.
Use a tiny amount of white yarn to add one highlight stitch near the lower outside edge of each safety eye if desired.
Brush the white cheeks gently. Trim only uneven fibers and keep the cheek shape rounded.
Care Notes
Keep the completed fox away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Strong sunlight may fade the orange, blue, and mint yarn over time.
Because the pattern uses safety eyes and small accessories, the finished item is intended primarily as a decorative collectible unless all small components are replaced with securely embroidered details.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Both eyes are level and approximately 9 stitches apart.
- The muzzle is centered beneath the eyes.
- The ears are evenly positioned and angled outward.
- The daisy is attached to the doll’s right ear.
- The sweater stripes remain level around the body.
- The pant cuffs sit above the orange ankles.
- Both sandal straps fit securely around the feet.
- The tail curves outward without twisting.
- The strawberry appliques are firmly sewn to the satchel.
- All yarn ends are woven into the inside of the pieces.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
For light dust, use a clean soft brush and work in the direction of the stitches. Support the head, ears, and accessories while brushing.
For spot cleaning, dampen a white cloth with cool water and a small amount of mild detergent. Press gently against the affected area without rubbing.
Do not machine wash the fox if the hat, satchel, safety eyes, or brushed cheek yarn are attached. Machine agitation may distort the stuffing and damage the small accessories.
After spot cleaning, reshape the doll and allow it to air-dry completely on a clean towel. Keep the sweater stripes straight and reshape the hat brim before drying.
Store the fox in a dry location. Avoid sealed plastic storage while the crochet is damp, because trapped moisture may produce odors or damage the fibers.
When storing the set for a long period, place acid-free tissue around the ears, hat brim, tail, and satchel strap. This helps preserve the intended shapes without compressing the crochet pieces.
