Gauge and Construction Notes
Work the amigurumi pieces tightly so the stuffing does not show. The stump house is made as a tall cylinder, shaped with embroidered bark ridges and vertical surface crochet lines. The roof is a soft mound with many layered leaves and moss patches sewn around the edge.
The base is an oval woodland mat with a raised brown edge. The blue stream is crocheted separately and sewn into the grass. The tree house is sewn slightly behind the center so the picnic scene, bridge, and animals sit clearly in the foreground.
Use pins before sewing. This diorama has many tiny details, so correct placement is important. Sew the large pieces first, then add landscaping, animals, mushrooms, flowers, picnic food, and final embroidery.

Sew stones near the front-right grass area and along the stream edge, matching the small pebble path in the image.
Tree Stump Placement
Place the stump house slightly behind the center of the oval base. The door should face the front. The stream should pass in front-left of the house, and the bridge should cross it before the picnic blanket.
- Sew the bottom of the stump firmly through the grass base and into the cardboard layer.
- Keep the door centered and visible.
- Place the windows on both sides of the door, slightly above the door frame.
- Let the roof leaves overhang unevenly for a natural forest look.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the blue stream and pond to the base first.
- Sew the tree stump house onto the back-center of the base.
- Attach the leafy roof, side branches, roof sprout, vines, and yellow light knots.
- Sew the bridge over the stream at the front-left angle.
- Sew the picnic blanket in front of the door, slightly to the right.
- Arrange the mouse with hat on the left side of the blanket.
- Place the cream mouse behind the blanket.
- Place the beige bunny and white rabbit on the front and right side of the blanket.
- Sew the hedgehog pair on the right side near mushrooms.
- Sew the fox behind the hedgehogs so only the upper body peeks out.
- Add plates, teacups, berry tart, and honey pot to the blanket.
- Sew mushrooms, ferns, grass tufts, flowers, and stones around the base.
For each animal face, embroider a tiny nose with black or brown thread. Add one short vertical stitch under the nose and two small smile stitches. Add pink cheek stitches if desired. Keep all expressions soft and simple to match the gentle woodland picnic style.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with cool water and a soft cloth.
- Do not machine wash if cardboard, plastic canvas, or lights are used inside the diorama.
- Keep the roof leaves and vines flat while drying.
- Use this piece as a display decoration if optional lights are added.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the diorama in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Gently dust it with a soft brush, especially around the roof leaves, bark grooves, mushrooms, and tiny animals. If the piece becomes misshapen, reshape it by hand and let it rest flat overnight.
For long-term display, place the diorama on a flat shelf or inside a clear display box. Avoid heavy objects on top of the leafy roof or bridge. If using battery fairy lights, remove batteries when the piece is not being displayed.
