This sweet knitted bunny set is designed to look like a soft heirloom toy with a lilac floral wardrobe and tiny garden accessories. The finished pieces make a beautiful handmade bunny doll, knitted stuffed bunny gift, nursery keepsake, spring shelf decoration, baby shower present, or collectible knit toy for display. The main bunny wears a layered flower dress, a short cardigan, a rounded cloche-style hat, and Mary Jane shoes. The set also includes a bucket, watering can, basket, flower bouquet, and a tiny flower-hood kitten companion so the full garden scene matches the picture.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US English and uses very small-gauge toy knitting so the surface looks dense, neat, and firm, just like the image. The shaping is gentle and rounded, with a large soft head, narrow neck, compact body, short arms, long flat feet, and softly weighted lower body.
The clothing is fitted rather than loose. The dress is built in three flower-banded tiers, with the upper skirt slightly bell-shaped and the cardigan sitting just above the waist. The hat is a close-fitting rounded cloche with a softly rolled brim. The tiny accessories are all worked to scale.

Special Notes
Work the toy pieces with firm tension. Stuff gradually and firmly, especially the head, muzzle area, hips, and feet. The bunny in the photo has a tidy silhouette, not a floppy one, so shaping and stuffing should be controlled at every stage.
The floral decoration is added with duplicate stitch after knitting. This gives the cleanest result at miniature scale and lets you place the flowers exactly where they appear in the picture. Each flower is made from tiny mauve and purple stitches with green stems and leaves.
Main Bunny
Legs Make 2
Using oatmeal, CO 10 sts. Divide evenly for working in the round. Join carefully.

Join Legs and Lower Body
Place both legs on needles with inner-leg stitches facing each other. Using oatmeal, knit across first leg, CO 4 sts for crotch bridge, knit across second leg, CO 4 sts for back bridge. 40 sts total. Mark beginning of round at center back.

- Rnds 34-38: Knit 5 rnds for neck.
Head
The head is larger than the torso and softly oval, with a slightly wider cheek area and a gentle narrowing near the crown. The face does not have a separate protruding muzzle, so shaping relies on stuffing and embroidery.

- Rnd 42: Knit.

Fasten off. Make a second ear. Do not stuff. Steam lightly if needed and fold the lower base edge inward before sewing so each ear drops smoothly at the side of the hat line.
Dress
The dress is the visual focus of the set. It has a pale lilac top and three softly flared bands in lilac, pink, and lavender, each decorated with evenly spaced flower motifs. The dress is worked from the lower hem upward in one piece, then seamed or buttoned at the back.

Flower Motifs for Dress
Use duplicate stitch after blocking lightly. Place motifs evenly so the lower lavender tier has 10 tiny flowers, the middle pink tier has 8 tiny flowers, and the upper lilac tier plus bodice has 6 tiny flowers total.
- Each flower: 1 purple center stitch, 4 mauve petal stitches around it
- Stem: 1 vertical green stitch below center

Keep flowers tiny. They should read as delicate scattered violets, not bold motifs.

- Sew arms to upper body at a downward angle.
- Embroider face.
- Dress bunny in dress, cardigan, shoes, and hat.
- Sew flower motifs on dress and cardigan.
- Assemble basket, bucket, watering can, bouquet, and kitten.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Shape the bunny gently with your hands before dressing it. Pull the face slightly narrower at the nose with a hidden sculpting thread if needed. Keep the eyes tiny and low-contrast in shine so the expression stays soft. The ears should fall beside the hat, not stick outward.
Care Notes
Display pieces are best kept dry and clean. If the toy will be handled often, secure all buttons firmly or replace them with embroidered details for child safety. Avoid rough brushing, because the smooth knitted texture is part of the finished look.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Dress tiers flare evenly
- Flowers are small and spaced neatly
- Cardigan sits just above waist
- Hat covers top of forehead
- Feet are flat and balanced
- Ears droop softly and evenly

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild wool-safe soap. Blot, never rub. Reshape while damp and dry flat away from heat and direct sunlight. Store in a breathable box or cotton bag with tissue support inside the hat and dress to preserve the rounded silhouette.
