Pattern Notes
Work most amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join. Stuff firmly, but do not overstuff the pumpkin carriage. The image has a soft sculpted look, with visible stitch texture and rounded handmade shaping.
The carriage is made as a large stuffed pumpkin sphere, then shaped with yarn ribs. The roof, windows, door, wheel, vines, leaves, lanterns, figures, and meadow details are sewn on after the main pieces are complete.
Garden Base Mat
The base is a rounded rectangle with ribbed green texture. It should look like a soft meadow platform with stitched rows running from front to back.
Base Panel
Use medium green and the 2.75 mm hook.

Pumpkin Rib Shaping
Use a long strand of dark orange yarn and a strong needle. Insert the needle from the bottom center to the top center. Wrap the yarn down the outside of the pumpkin and back through the center. Pull gently to indent one rib.
Repeat until you have 8 deep vertical pumpkin sections. Keep the front rib centered between the door and the left window. Secure tightly at the bottom. The visible ribs should look raised and rounded, not sharply pinched.
Carriage Straw Roof
The roof in the image is beige and tan, with a shaggy thatched edge and a gathered top under the stem. It sits like a soft cap on the pumpkin.

Front Path and Placement Guide
Place the pumpkin carriage toward the back center of the base. The front door should face forward. The wheel sits on the left front side, the bunny stands to the right of the door, and the two mice stand near the front center.
- Carriage: back center, about 1 in from the rear edge.
- Door: centered at the front of the pumpkin.
- Steps: directly under the door.
- Stone path: from steps curving to the front right.
- Bunny fairy: right of door, slightly forward.
- Mouse with straw hat: front left center.
- Mouse with blue bonnet: front center-right.
- Rope: looped between both mice.
- Large wheel: front left of pumpkin.
- Tall grass: back left corner.
- Fairy Meadow sign: right side, behind flowers.
- Lanterns: one left of carriage and one near the right side.
Optional Mini Door Texture
To make the door look more like the picture, add vertical embroidery lines using dark brown yarn. Work 3 long stitches from top to bottom on each door half. Then add one tan stitch around the edge to make the frame stand out.
Optional Pumpkin Surface Texture
The pictured pumpkin has dense, even stitches. To add extra texture, embroider very subtle vertical dark orange lines between the sculpted ribs. Use light tension so the stitches sit on the surface instead of pulling the pumpkin deeper.
Assembly Order
- Finish the green base and pebble border first.
- Make and sculpt the pumpkin carriage body.
- Sew the roof, stem, vines, leaves, door, windows, wheel, and steps onto the carriage.
- Secure the carriage to the base with strong green or orange yarn.
- Add the stepping stones in front of the door.
- Make the bunny fairy and sew her in place.
- Make both mice and attach the rope to their hands.
- Add lanterns, grass, mushrooms, pumpkins, flowers, sunflowers, and the sign.
- Check the diorama from the front and sides before tying off final yarn tails.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Sew all figures with firm, hidden stitches through the base so they stand upright. For the bunny, keep the ears tall and the wings visible behind the shoulders. For the mice, tilt the heads slightly upward for a cute meadow-story look.
Use pink embroidery for the bunny and mouse noses. Add tiny straight stitches for mouths. For cheeks, make one small horizontal stitch on each side using pale pink yarn. Keep faces simple, soft, and friendly.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a slightly damp cloth.
- Do not machine wash because the diorama includes many small sewn details.
- Keep away from pets and very young children if safety eyes, beads, or wire are used.
- If using LED lights, remove them before cleaning.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The pumpkin carriage is firmly attached to the meadow base.
- The door sits centered under the straw roof.
- The wheel is sewn securely and does not flop forward.
- The bunny stands to the right of the carriage with wings visible.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To preserve the shape, store the finished Pumpkin Carriage Fairy Meadow in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can fade orange, green, and blue yarn over time.
Use a soft makeup brush or clean paintbrush to remove dust from the roof fringe, vines, flowers, and grass. Brush gently in one direction so the small pieces do not stretch.
If the pumpkin body becomes slightly flattened, reshape it with your hands by pressing the sides gently and lifting the roof area. Avoid pulling the vines, windows, or door while reshaping.
For long-term storage, place the diorama in a box large enough that the bunny ears, sign, and lanterns are not bent. Add tissue paper around the figures, not on top of them.
