This sweet crochet scene features a round blueberry windmill with a beige tower, purple scalloped roof, cream windmill blades, climbing green vines, bright blue berries, tiny bunnies, a garden cart, fences, flowers, mushrooms, a scarecrow, a berry basket, stepping stones, and a hand-stitched farm sign. The finished display is designed as a soft amigurumi diorama with many small farm details.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US crochet terms and works in continuous rounds unless a joined round is specifically stated. Use a stitch marker at the beginning of every round. The windmill is the main piece, and the bunnies, fence, garden pieces, sign, scarecrow, cart, and berries are made separately, then sewn to the oval base.
The pictured project has a soft handmade look, so the pieces are firm but not stiff. Stuff the tower and bunnies well, stuff the roof moderately, and leave small flat details such as the sign, fence rails, vines, and flowers unstuffed.

Gauge and Fabric Notes
Gauge is not critical, but a tight amigurumi fabric is important. With a 3.25 mm hook and worsted cotton, 6 sc across should measure about 1 inch. If stuffing shows through, use a smaller hook. If the tower becomes too stiff to shape, loosen your tension slightly.
The windmill tower is cylindrical with a gentle taper near the top. The roof is a rounded purple cap with a scalloped lower edge. The four blades are cream rectangles with rounded ends, crossed diagonally and sewn over a small circular hub.
Main Oval Farm Base
Use sage green yarn and the 3.75 mm hook. The base is worked as a large oval, then edged with a raised rim. To make it stable, crochet two identical ovals and place plastic canvas between them before joining.
Base Oval, Make 2

- Join with sl st to first sc.
- Ch 1, reverse sc around for a firm corded edge. Join and FO.
Blueberry Windmill Tower
Use beige yarn and the 3.25 mm hook. The tower should look like a short round stone mill with a slightly narrower top. Stuff firmly as you go, keeping the bottom flat so it stands straight on the base.

Bottom Stone Lip
Attach beige yarn to any front loop from Rnd 10. Ch 1, sc in each unused front loop around. Join with sl st and FO. This gives the tower a neat bottom ridge and helps the windmill sit like the picture.
Purple Blueberry Roof
The roof is a rounded cap, not a sharp cone. Work with purple yarn. Stuff lightly so the top stays dome-shaped. The final scalloped trim should hang over the beige tower like the photographed roof edge.
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.

- Rnd 20: Repeat sl st, skip 1 st, 5 dc in next st, skip 1 st around to form 15 scallops. Join and FO.
Sewing the Roof to the Tower
Place the roof over the tower so the scallops overlap the beige top by about half an inch. Sew the unused back loops of the roof’s lower round to Rnd 37 of the tower. Keep the seam hidden under the scalloped trim.
Roof Blueberries, Make 12
Use bright blue yarn and a 2.75 mm or 3.25 mm hook. These berries are small raised dots sewn around the purple roof. Make several slightly different sizes by adjusting stuffing pressure.
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- Rnd 2: Sc around. 6 sts.
- Rnd 3: Dec around. 3 sts.
- FO, close the opening, and leave a sewing tail.
📌Thank you for reading the article
Sew 12 berries unevenly across the roof, with more visible berries on the front and right side. Place a few near the scalloped edge and a few higher on the dome, matching the playful scattered look in the image.
Windmill Blades
The blades are cream colored and thick, with rounded rectangular arms. Make four identical arms. They cross over the front of the purple roof and beige tower. For a sturdy display, slide a narrow piece of plastic canvas into each blade before closing.
Blade Arm, Make 4

- Rnd 2: Inc around. 12 sts.
- Rnd 3: Sc around. 12 sts.
- Rnd 4: Dec around. 6 sts.
- Stuff lightly, close, and leave a long tail.
Assembling the Blades
- Lay two blades diagonally from upper left to lower right. Sew their flattened ends together at the center.
- Lay the other two blades diagonally from upper right to lower left. Sew across the first pair to form an X.
- Sew the round hub over the intersection.
- Pin the blade unit to the front of the windmill with the top arms crossing over the roof and the lower arms resting near the tower.
- Sew securely through the hub and into the tower. Add small stitches behind each blade tip if you want the blades to stay open.
Arched Brown Door
Use dark brown yarn. The door is a tall oval arch on the front of the beige tower. It sits below the windmill hub, centered between the climbing vines.

- Sew the windmill tower to the center back of the oval base. Keep the door facing forward.
- Sew the purple roof to the tower, then sew all roof blueberries in place.
- Attach the windmill blades to the front, centered above the door.
- Sew the door, step, vines, tower berries, and ladder to the windmill.
- Sew the stepping stones from the door toward the front center.
- Attach the left soil patch, garden bunny, and left curved fence.
- Sew the large front bunny and cart at the front left.
- Sew the right small bunny, basket, sign, scarecrow, mushrooms, and right fence.
- Add flowers, loose berries, and final small leaves until the base looks full.
Placement Guide
The windmill should sit slightly behind the center of the oval base, leaving enough room for the path, cart, large bunny, and right bunny in front. The door faces forward, and the blades should cross the roof diagonally like a soft X.
Place the large white bunny at the front left corner, with the cart in front of it. Place the right bunny at the front right edge, holding the shallow berry basket. The sign should stand behind that bunny, angled slightly toward the viewer.
The blue overall bunny belongs inside the left fenced blueberry patch. The scarecrow stands behind the sign on the right side. The fence sections should not be perfectly straight; a slight curve makes the scene look closer to the pictured farm.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Embroider each bunny nose with two or three small pink horizontal stitches. Add a short black vertical stitch under the nose and a tiny curved smile. Add blush with pale pink yarn or a small amount of fabric-safe blush powder.
Check that the windmill blades are firmly anchored at the hub. Add hidden stitches through the back of the upper blades into the purple roof if they droop. Shape the bunny ears by pinching the base before sewing.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a slightly damp cloth.
- Do not soak the full farm display because the stuffing and internal supports may shift.
- Let the piece air dry completely before storing.
- Keep away from pets, rough play, and very young children if small buttons or safety eyes are used.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Windmill: beige tower, purple roof, cream blades, brown door, button knob, vines, blueberries, and ladder are attached.
- Base: oval shape is flat, stable, and edged neatly.
- Characters: three bunnies and one scarecrow are sewn securely.
- Garden: fence, blueberry patch, baskets, cart, flowers, mushrooms, sign, and stepping stones are placed.
- Details: faces, berry clusters, sign lettering, and small leaves are complete.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To preserve the shape, store the farm in a breathable box with tissue paper around the blades and bunnies. Avoid compressing the roof or bending the windmill arms. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight to protect the purple and blue yarn colors.
For dust, use a soft clean makeup brush and gently brush from top to bottom. If a berry or flower loosens, reattach it with matching yarn instead of glue. This keeps the handmade texture flexible and easy to repair.
