General Notes Before You Start
Work in continuous rounds unless a section says to join. Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round. Keep your tension firm so the pieces hold their shape and stuffing does not show through.
The display is built like a miniature crochet diorama. Start with the meadow base, then make the wishing well, ducks, flowers, fence, pond, and accessories. Sew the large pieces first, then fill the empty spaces with tiny flowers, stones, mushrooms, and leaves.

Layout and Placement Guide
- Place the wishing well slightly behind the center of the round meadow.
- Place the mother duck on the right side of the well, facing forward.
- Place one duckling near the path holding a daisy.
- Place the second duckling beside the wheelbarrow.
- Place the pond at the front right edge.
- Place the sign at the front left edge, facing outward.
- Place the chairs on the left side of the well.
- Place the watering can near the sign and chairs.
- Place tulips and daisies behind the well and along the back fence.
- Place bushes around the outer edge to create a full garden border.
- Place mushrooms at the front corners and near the pond.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the wishing well firmly to the meadow first. Stitch around the bottom edge several times so it does not lean.
- Sew the roof posts to the well wall and base. Make sure the posts are vertical before attaching the roof.
- Sew the mother duck beside the well. Add tiny black eyes between the beak and hat line. Use one small stitch for each eye.
- Sew both ducklings in place. Their bodies should face slightly inward toward the meadow path.
- Sew the pond flat, then attach dragonflies and water highlights.
- Sew the stepping stones from the front edge toward the well.
- Sew the fence around the outer edge, leaving the front display open enough to see the sign and path.
- Sew flowers, bushes, basket, chairs, watering can, mushrooms, coins, rocks, and wheelbarrow in balanced clusters.
For the duck faces, keep the expression simple and sweet. The image shows tiny black eyes and orange beaks without heavy embroidery. Do not add eyebrows or large lashes if you want the same soft meadow look.
Care Notes
Spot clean only. Use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap on stained areas. Do not soak the full display, because the base, posts, roof, and small flowers may lose shape.
Let the piece air dry flat. Keep it away from strong direct sunlight for long periods, especially if you use cotton yarn in pastel colors.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The round base is firm, flat, and stable.
- The well sits slightly behind the center.
- The bucket hangs freely over the well opening.
- The mother duck wears a pale yellow striped hat.
- Two yellow ducklings are placed near the path and wheelbarrow.
- The pond has dragonflies and white water details.
- The sign reads Wishing Meadow.
- Pastel tulips, white daisies, bushes, mushrooms, stones, chairs, watering can, basket, coins, and fence are all attached.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a soft brush to remove dust from the roof, flowers, bushes, and fence. Brush gently so the small sewn decorations stay secure. For deeper cleaning, dab only the dirty area with cool water.
Store the finished meadow in a covered box when not displayed. Add tissue paper around the roof and flowers so they are not crushed. Keep the piece upright and avoid stacking heavy items on top of it.
If a flower stem bends, reshape it gently with your fingers. If a fence post loosens, use the original yarn tail or matching thread to stitch it back into the base.
