This cheerful crochet garden doll features a soft blue Eeyore-style donkey body, long droopy ears with rosy pink inner panels, a peach muzzle, a black yarn mane, denim overalls, a striped cardigan, brown sandals, a crossbody garden satchel with a tiny carrot, two yellow ducklings sitting on the head, a matching yellow-and-blue bee hat, and two small crochet potted plants.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern is written in US crochet terms and is designed as a detailed amigurumi-style display doll. The finished doll is worked mostly in continuous spiral rounds, with several flat and shaped pieces sewn on afterward. The design has a garden theme, so the accessories should look playful, handmade, and slightly soft rather than stiff or toy-factory perfect.
The body proportions are important for matching the image. The head is tall and oval with a long peach muzzle. The ears are oversized and hang down beside the face. The body is rounded and dressed in blue overalls. The legs are long and narrow, while the arms are shorter and tucked under the striped cardigan sleeves.

Gauge and Working Notes
Gauge is not extremely strict, but the stitches should be tight enough that stuffing does not show through. For the best shape, crochet the doll with a firm tension and stuff gradually. The head, muzzle, body, and legs should feel full but not stretched.
Work most amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join. Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round. When changing colors for stripes, complete the last yarn-over of the previous stitch with the new color.
For a clean image-matching finish, sew slowly and check the doll from the front often. The long ears should sit high on the head and angle outward before drooping. The black center face line should divide the face evenly from the mane down to the muzzle.
Main Doll Legs
Leg One
Use bright sky blue yarn and the 3.25 mm hook. Stuff the leg as you go, keeping the lower leg firm and straight. The pictured doll has long blue legs that extend below the short overalls.

Stuff the head firmly, shaping it into a long oval. FO and leave a long tail. Do not close the bottom completely if you prefer easier sewing; the neck will cover the opening.
Peach Muzzle
The muzzle is a large oval piece that covers the lower front of the face. It begins below the eyes and extends down to the chin. Use soft peach yarn.

FO and leave a long sewing tail. Add light stuffing behind the muzzle before sewing it to the face. The top of the muzzle should sit just under the eye patches, and the lower edge should curve around the chin.
Eye Patches and Eyes
The eyes in the photo are soft white oval patches with black pupils, giving the doll a gentle expression. Make two white ovals.

Sew the eye patches to the blue head above the peach muzzle. Angle them slightly inward so the expression looks sweet and curious. Add black pupils by embroidering vertical ovals near the inner lower side of each white patch. Add a tiny white stitch on each pupil if desired.
Long Outer Ears
The ears are a key feature. Each ear is long, rounded at the end, blue outside, and pink inside. They are sewn high on the head and hang down beside the cheeks.

FO and weave in ends. Place the cardigan around the body with the opening in front. Put the arms through the armholes. Sew lightly at the shoulders and under the arms so the cardigan stays open and relaxed.
Head Assembly
Place the head on the body so the peach muzzle faces directly forward. Sew the neck opening to the top of the body using the long tail. Go around twice for strength. Add extra stuffing at the neck before closing the last gap so the head does not wobble.
Sew the ears to the upper sides of the head around R9-R12. The top of each ear should sit just below the mane area. Angle the ears outward at the top, then tack them lightly near the cheek if you want the same soft droop shown in the image.
Black Mane and Center Face Line
The black mane sits on the top center of the head as a messy tuft. Cut 18 strands of black yarn, each about 5 in / 13 cm long. Use a hook to pull each strand under a stitch along the top center line of the head. Tie each strand with a lark’s head knot.
Trim the mane to about 1.5 in / 4 cm tall. Do not make it too neat. The photo shows a fluffy, slightly spiky tuft.
Using black yarn and a yarn needle, embroider a straight center line from the base of the mane down the forehead and over the center of the peach muzzle. Use long vertical stitches. Add two short black nostril stitches near the lower part of the muzzle.
Ducklings on Head
Make two small yellow ducklings. They sit like tiny garden friends on either side of the black mane. Use the 2.75 mm hook and yellow yarn.

Repeat on the other eye. Tie the yarn securely at the back and hide the knot under the mane or inside the head. Do not pull too tightly, because the face should remain soft and friendly.

- Add the black mane along the top center of the head.

- Place the satchel diagonally across the chest and sew it securely at the hip.
- Add sandals under the feet and decorate them with tiny bees.
- Set the yellow bucket hat and potted plants beside the doll for the full garden display.
Care Notes
Because this doll includes many small sewn details, spot cleaning is the safest method. Use a damp cloth with mild soap and gently dab the surface. Avoid rubbing the embroidered eyes, bees, ducklings, and carrot applique.
If the doll is made for a child, replace buttons and safety eyes with embroidery. Small parts can become a choking hazard. For display use, the tiny buttons and appliques give the doll the same charming garden look shown in the image.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The head is tall, oval, and centered on the body.
- The peach muzzle covers the lower front of the face.
- The eyes are white oval patches with black pupils.
- The ears are long, droopy, blue outside, and pink inside.
- The black mane is fluffy and placed between the ducklings.
- The cardigan has wide cream and blue stripes.
- The overalls have a front bib, two straps, buttons, and a tiny bee.
- The satchel has a carrot on the front flap.
- The sandals are brown with tiny bee details.
- The separate yellow-and-blue hat has a bee applique.
- The two potted plants are placed beside the finished doll for the garden scene.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the finished crochet doll in a dry place away from strong sunlight. Long exposure to sunlight can fade blue, yellow, and pink yarn over time. Keep the ducklings, mane, and plant leaves from being crushed by placing the doll upright on a shelf.
For dust removal, use a soft makeup brush or a clean dry cloth. Brush gently around the eyes, muzzle, overalls, and cardigan stripes. If the hat or potted plants are displayed separately, dust each piece before returning it to the scene.
Do not machine wash the full set unless every part is firmly sewn, all details are embroidered, and the yarn label says machine washing is safe. Even then, place the doll inside a laundry bag and use cold water on a gentle cycle.
After cleaning, reshape the ears, hat brim, satchel, and plant leaves while damp. Let all pieces air dry completely before storage. Never tumble dry, because heat can distort stuffing, shrink yarn, and flatten the delicate amigurumi shape.
