This crochet pattern creates a large round sanctuary scene with a sturdy brown treehouse trunk, layered golden leaf canopies, glowing sun-and-star ornaments, a blue stream, a small bridge, a picnic area, flowers, mushrooms, a wooden sign, and three sweet badgers. The finished piece is designed as a display diorama with many tiny crochet details, matching the cozy handmade look of the image.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge and Notes
Work all amigurumi pieces tightly so the stuffing does not show. The tree trunk and badgers are worked mostly in continuous rounds. The flat base, stream, picnic blanket, bridge, sign, and small decorations are worked in rows or shaped rounds.
The image shows a firm display piece with a wide green-and-blue landscape base, a raised brown side rim, a thick central trunk, large horizontal branches, and many layered oval leaves. The pattern below builds the same structure in separate crochet sections and then sews them together securely.
- Use a stitch marker at the first stitch of each round.
- Stuff the tree trunk firmly, especially near the roots and where branches are attached.
- For clean shaping, pin every large part before sewing.
- The canopies should angle downward slightly like wide umbrella caps.
- All hanging ornaments should be light enough to hang naturally from crochet chains.

Brown Side Rim
Use dark earth brown yarn. Join yarn to any stitch on the grass circle. Work into BLO on the first rim round to create a crisp top edge.
- R1: BLO sc in each stitch around, sl st. 160 sts.
- R2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st. 160 sts.

- R6: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st. 144 sts.
Place the cardboard or plastic canvas insert under the grass circle. Stuff the rim lightly so it looks rounded, like the thick brown edge in the image. Sew the lower rim closed with a second flat brown circle if desired, or whipstitch the edge around the insert.
Blue Stream Panel
The stream curves from the front center toward the right side of the tree. Use sky blue yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. This piece is sewn on top of the grass base.
- Row 1: Ch 11, sc in second ch from hook and across. 10 sts.

- Row 25: Ch 1, turn, dec, sc 6, dec. 8 sts.
Do not fasten off yet. Work a border around the stream: sc evenly around, placing 2 sc in each corner and 2 sc into each row-end curve where needed. FO with a long tail. Sew the stream onto the front-right area of the base, leaving a green border visible around it.
White Water Stitches
- With white yarn, embroider six short straight stitches across the stream.
- Place three stitches near the front curve, two near the middle, and one near the right side behind the bridge.
- Keep the stitches short so they look like tiny water highlights.
Small Stone Path
Use tan yarn. Make a narrow path from the treehouse door to the front of the base.
- Row 1: Ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and across. 6 sts.
- Rows 2–18: Ch 1, turn, sc across. 6 sts.
- Border: Sc evenly around the rectangle, placing 2 sc in each corner.
FO with a long tail. Sew the path so one end touches the tree door and the other end points toward the front edge of the base. Add three horizontal surface stitches in slightly darker tan to suggest little stepping planks.
Main Treehouse Trunk
Use tree brown yarn and a 3.0 mm hook. The trunk is thick, slightly tapered, and tall, with windows and a small rounded door. Work firmly and stuff as you go.
- R1: MR, 8 sc. 8 sts.
- R2: Inc in each st around. 16 sts.

- R52: Repeat sc 2, dec around. 24 sts.
- R53: Repeat sc 1, dec around. 16 sts.
Stuff firmly. FO with a long tail. The top will be hidden under the upper branches, so close it with a yarn needle. Sew the trunk upright to the center-back area of the base, not exactly centered. The stream should remain visible at the front right.
Tree Roots
Make six roots in tree brown. These roots spread out at the bottom of the trunk and help the tree look grounded like the image.
- R1: MR, 6 sc. 6 sts.
- R2: Repeat sc 1, inc around. 9 sts.
- R3–R8: Sc in each st around. 9 sts.
- R9: Sc 3, dec, sc 4. 8 sts.

📌Thank you for reading the article
Stuff the wide end lightly and leave the narrow end unstuffed. FO with a long tail. Flatten the narrow end and sew it to the grass. Sew the wide end against the base of the trunk. Place two roots toward the front, two toward the sides, and two toward the back.
Large Tree Branches
The sanctuary tree has several thick branches holding the golden leaf canopies. Use tree brown yarn. For strong shaping, insert pipe cleaners or floral wire inside each branch, folding the wire ends safely so they do not poke through.

Oval Leaves
Make about 160 oval leaves. This sounds like many pieces, but the layered leaves create the exact dense golden roof texture from the image.
- Ch 7.
- Working into the second ch from hook: sc 1, hdc 1, dc 2, hdc 1, 3 sc in last ch.
- Continue on the other side of the chain: hdc 1, dc 2, hdc 1, sc 1.
- Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a 6 in / 15 cm tail for sewing.
Sew the leaves in overlapping rows. Start at the outer edge of each canopy and work toward the top. Let every leaf point downward. The outer row should hang slightly beyond the canopy edge, creating the soft drooping look seen in the photo.
- Large top canopy: use about 55 leaves.
- Each medium canopy: use about 24 leaves.
- Small canopy: use about 12 leaves.
Treehouse Door
Use warm yellow yarn for the door center and tan yarn for the border.

Hanging Sun and Star Ornaments
The photo shows warm glowing sun-stars hanging from the tree. Make one large front sun, two side suns, and two smaller back stars. If using LED lights, crochet the sun covers loosely enough for the light to sit behind the center.
Round Sun Center
Make five centers in warm yellow.
- R1: MR, 8 sc. 8 sts.
- R2: Inc around. 16 sts.
- R3: Repeat sc 1, inc around. 24 sts.

For the large front sun, add one more round: repeat sc 4, inc around for 48 sts. FO. For smaller stars, stop at 40 sts.
Sun Rays
Join orange yarn to any stitch on the outer round. Work the rays directly around the circle.
- Repeat the following around: sl st in next st, ch 5, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, skip 1 stitch on circle, sl st in next stitch.
- Adjust spacing so the large sun has 10 rays and each small sun has 8 rays.
FO and weave in ends. For a thicker ornament, make two matching sun pieces and sc them together around the edge. Stuff very lightly or place the crochet sun over a cool battery light.
Hanging Chains
- For the large front sun: with tan yarn, ch 18 and attach to the lower front branch.
- For each side sun: ch 24 and attach to the left and right outer canopies.
- For the smaller stars: ch 16 and attach under the back branches.
Secure the hanging chains with several stitches through the branches so the ornaments do not pull loose.

- Add flowers, mushrooms, rocks, sprigs, and small details last.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Facial details: Check that each badger has balanced black face stripes, even eyes, rounded ears, and a small centered nose. The stripes should angle downward from forehead to cheek, creating a clear badger expression.
Tree shaping: Adjust the branches so the canopies create a layered umbrella shape. The top canopy should be highest, while the side canopies should spread outward over the picnic area, swing, stream, and sign.
Scene balance: Place the bright sun ornaments where they are easy to see from the front. The largest sun should hang from the central branch, while the smaller suns and stars hang from the outer branches.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a slightly damp cloth.
- Do not soak the treehouse because the base insert and branch supports may bend.
- Keep away from high heat, candles, and open flames.
- If using LED lights, remove batteries before storage.
- This piece is best used as decorative art, not as a toy for small children.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To keep the sanctuary treehouse looking fresh, dust it gently with a soft brush every few weeks. Lift the hanging ornaments carefully while cleaning so the chains do not stretch. Avoid pulling on leaves, flowers, or the swing ropes.
Store the project upright in a clean box with tissue paper around the canopies. Do not press heavy items on top of the tree because the branches and leaf layers may flatten. Keep the piece in a dry room away from direct sunlight to help preserve the golden canopy color.
If a small flower, leaf, or mushroom loosens over time, sew it back with matching yarn and a yarn needle. Use small, hidden stitches through the base layer so the repair blends naturally into the crochet landscape.
