Pattern Notes

The fox is knitted mostly in the round, then stuffed and sewn together. The overalls are knitted separately and sewn onto the doll so they sit smoothly over the body. The blouse sleeves are knitted as part of the arms, with small embroidered garden flowers added after assembly.

To match the pictured toy, keep the stuffing rounded but not hard. The head should be slightly larger than the body, the ears should stand at the top corners, and the overalls should sit high under the chest with a rounded bib. The sandals are sewn over the orange feet with a blue sole, toe band, and tiny white flower.

  10. Sew sandals onto the feet and add daisy embroidery.
  11. Attach the bee bag strap across the body and tack the bag at the hip.
  12. Sew the headband cord, blueberries, and leaves to the top of the head.
  13. Finish the basket, berries, and garden cups as display accessories.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing

Check the doll from the front before securing the last knots. The eyes should be level, the cream muzzle should sit centered, and the ears should lean outward with matching angles. The overalls should sit high and rounded, with the rolled cuffs resting just above the sandals.

Use small hidden stitches to tighten any loose sections. Add the final black mouth embroidery only after the head is attached, because the expression is easier to center when the doll is fully assembled.

Care Notes

  • Spot clean only with cool water and mild soap.
  • Do not machine wash if safety eyes, buttons, or small accessories are attached.
  • Let the doll air dry flat on a towel.
  • Keep the blueberry basket and tiny cups as display pieces, especially around small children.

Quick Checklist Before You Finish

  • Both ears are sewn firmly and evenly.
  • The muzzle is centered below the eyes.
  • The head is securely stitched to the neck.
  • The overalls are smooth at the waist and not twisted.
  • The blue straps meet the bib corners neatly.
  • The yellow bee bag rests diagonally across the body.
  • The sandals show the orange toes at the front.
  • The blueberry headpiece has berries and leaves clustered above one ear.
  • The tail is visible from the front left side.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines

To preserve the doll’s shape, avoid soaking it. Use a damp cloth to clean small marks, then press gently with a dry towel. Do not rub the embroidered flowers, bee, face, or berries, because small stitches can loosen with friction.

Store the fox doll upright or lying flat in a dry place away from direct sunlight. If the overalls, ears, or tail become flattened, gently reshape them by hand and allow the toy to rest for several hours before display.
