Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
This pattern creates a standing pastel garden doll with a large round head, slim neck, narrow body, long arms, fitted legs, textured pant legs, ruffled cuffs, and many small flowers. The doll is crocheted mostly in continuous rounds using tight single crochet so the stuffing does not show through.
The clothing is partly crocheted directly onto the body and partly made as decorative overlays. The romper has lilac pants, a pale floral bodice, cream side panels, mint edging, lavender ruffles, and small daisies stitched onto the front. The accessories are small but important for the look of the doll.
Finished Size
- Finished doll height: about 13 inches from feet to top of head.
- Width across hair: about 5 inches.
- Head height: about 3.4 inches.
- Body from neck to hip: about 3 inches.
- Leg length from hip to sole: about 4 inches.
- Hat diameter: about 4.8 inches.
- Basket height without handle: about 1.4 inches.
- Crossbody bag: about 1.4 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide.
Skill Level
Intermediate. A confident beginner can also make this doll by working slowly and checking stitch counts carefully. The main skills are magic ring, single crochet, increasing, decreasing, crocheting in front loops and back loops, making small flowers, surface slip stitch, sewing parts together, and embroidering facial details.
Materials
- Sport weight cotton or cotton-blend yarn in skin peach, charcoal gray, lilac, pale cream, mint green, soft yellow, pale pink, lavender, white, tan, light brown, and small amounts of deep pink.
- 2.25 mm crochet hook for the doll and main clothing.
- 2.00 mm crochet hook for flowers, bag details, hat flower, and tiny trims.
- 6 mm black safety eyes or black embroidery thread if preferred.

- Embroidery needle.
- Black thread for lashes.
- Pink embroidery thread or blush powder for cheeks.

Gauge
With a 2.25 mm hook and sport weight cotton yarn, 8 single crochet stitches and 9 rows should measure about 1 inch. Gauge is important because the doll has fitted clothing and small accessories. Crochet firmly, but do not make the fabric so stiff that shaping becomes difficult.
Important Notes Before Starting
- Work most amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join.
- Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of every round.
- Stuff the head firmly and evenly. Stuff the neck and body more firmly than the arms.
- Do not overstuff the hands, sleeves, or pant cuffs.
- Use smaller hook tension for the flowers so they stay neat and compact.
- The hair should be sewn in layers so it looks full and wavy like the image.

Pant Leg Texture
The lilac pants in the image have horizontal crochet ridges. To copy this, use lilac yarn and a yarn needle to make shallow horizontal surface stitches across the front of each pant leg.
- Work one horizontal line between every 2 rounds from R50 to R58.
- Use tiny straight stitches that span 2 crochet stitches each.
- Keep the texture subtle so the pants remain soft.

- Make 2 pink five-petal flowers.
- Make 1 yellow-centered cream flower.
- Make 6 loose mint leaves.
These flowers can be sewn onto a display mat, placed around the doll for photos, or lightly attached to the basket and side panels.
Optional Mossy Display Base
The photo shows the doll resting on a mossy garden surface. You can crochet a simple green display mat if you want a similar handmade base.
- With olive green yarn, ch 36.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and across. 35 sc.
- Row 2-R30: Ch 1, turn, sc across. 35 sc.
- Border R1: Sc evenly around all four sides, placing 3 sc in each corner.
- Border R2: Ch 3, sl st in next st, repeat around for a mossy edge.
- FO and weave in ends.
Brush the surface lightly with a pet brush if using fuzzy yarn. Do not brush the doll itself unless the yarn is intended for brushing.
Detailed Clothing Placement
To match the image closely, keep the romper fitted at the chest and roomier at the lower body. The lilac pants should look straight from hip to cuff. The cream side panels should appear like decorative vertical garden strips, not loose apron pieces.
- The waist ruffle should sit horizontally and cover the join between bodice and pants.
- The shoulder ruffles should angle outward like little sleeves.
- The mint strap should cross clearly over the chest and connect to the bag.
- The bag should rest against the right hip area.
- The basket should hang from one hand near knee height.
- The hat can be displayed beside the doll or gently tacked to the hair.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Check that the head is straight above the neck. Add extra neck stitches if the head tilts forward.
- Sew the arms securely at shoulder height, with the hands pointing slightly inward.
- Attach the bodice panel, waist ruffle, sleeve ruffles, and side panels before sewing on many flowers.
- Sew the hair cap first, then bangs, then long strands, then side curls.
- Add the eye lashes after the hair is finished so the face remains balanced.
- Place the bag strap across the body and tack it at the shoulder and hip.
- Sew the basket handle lightly to one hand.
- Add the hat as a removable prop or sew it gently to the side of the head.
For the face, keep all embroidery small and gentle. The nose should be centered between the eyes. The cheeks should be soft, not bright. The lashes should angle outward so the doll keeps the sweet handmade expression shown in the image.
Care Notes
- Spot clean the doll with cool water and mild soap.
- Do not machine wash if you used safety eyes, wire, cardboard, or blush powder.
- Let the doll air dry flat on a towel.
- Reshape the hat brim and ruffles while damp.
- Keep the doll away from strong sunlight to protect pastel colors.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Head is round, smooth, and firmly stuffed.
- Eyes are even and lashes match on both sides.
- Bangs sit centered over the forehead.
- Long gray hair is full on both sides.
- Romper waist ruffle covers the color change line.
- Cream side panels are straight and even.
- Pant cuffs have visible layered ruffles.
- Sandals have mint straps and small flowers.
- Bag strap crosses the body neatly.
- Basket and hat flowers are securely sewn.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To preserve the shape, clean the doll gently and avoid soaking the head or hair. Use a damp cloth to dab stained areas, then press with a dry towel. Do not twist the doll, because twisting can bend the neck and pull the hair strands out of place.
Store the doll in a dry place with the hat brim flat. If the ruffles become flattened, lift them gently with your fingers and steam from a safe distance. Do not press the iron directly onto the crochet fabric.
If the doll is used for display, place tissue paper under the hair and around the basket to prevent crushing. For long-term storage, wrap the doll in acid-free tissue and keep it in a breathable cotton bag.
Finishing Thought
Your pastel flower garden doll is complete when all the small garden details feel balanced: soft gray hair, gentle peach face, lilac romper, cream ruffles, mint accessories, tiny flowers, woven basket, and wide pastel hat. The beauty of this design comes from patient finishing and careful placement of every small detail.
