Pattern Overview
This pattern uses US crochet terms and is written as a detailed amigurumi pattern for a seated garden doll. The finished doll has an oversized head, slim neck, rounded belly, short seated legs, rounded arms, and many small decorative garden details.
The body is worked mostly in continuous rounds. The clothing is crocheted directly onto the doll where possible, then layered with separate bib, straps, cuffs, buttons, flowers, insects, and bag details. This keeps the doll sturdy while still matching the busy handmade look in the image.
- Skill level: Confident beginner to intermediate.
- Finished size: About 13 to 15 inches tall when using worsted weight yarn and a 3.0 mm hook.
- Main construction: Head, muzzle, body, arms, legs, ears, outfit, sandals, bee bag, headband bee, hat, and plant props.
- Recommended method: Work tightly so stuffing does not show through the stitches.
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in golden yellow, orange, black, peach, pink, denim blue, light blue, grass green, royal blue, tan, brown, red, white, yellow, mint, and dark green.
- 3.0 mm crochet hook for the doll and clothing.
- 2.5 mm crochet hook for small flowers, bees, ladybugs, and face details.
- Fiberfill stuffing.

- ch: chain
- sl st: slip stitch
- sc: single crochet
- hdc: half double crochet
- dc: double crochet
- inc: increase, 2 sc in the same stitch

Gauge and Crochet Style
Gauge is not strict for this decorative doll, but tight tension is important. With worsted weight yarn and a 3.0 mm hook, 6 sc by 6 rounds should measure close to 1 inch. The finished fabric should feel firm, not loose or floppy.
Stuff the head and body firmly, but do not overstuff the muzzle, ears, sandals, or small accessories. Light stuffing helps the face keep the soft, rounded look from the image. For the neatest finish, use the invisible decrease and keep all color changes on the back or underside when possible.
Important Color Notes
- The head base is golden yellow with orange outer sides and black tiger stripes.
- The muzzle is long and golden yellow, with a round pink nose attached to the front.
- The shirt has alternating royal blue and grass green stripes.
- The overalls are denim blue with lighter blue cuffs and straps.
- The legs and hands are orange, with black stripe patches added after crocheting.
- The sandals are tan with daisy flowers on the front straps.
- The bee bag and headband bee are yellow and black with white wings.

- Place the eyebrows at a gentle upward angle for a happy expression.
- Add two tiny brown cheek lines beside the muzzle if desired.
- Use black thread to reinforce the eyes if using embroidered eyes.

Stuff the body firmly. The belly should be rounded, with the lower blue area larger than the striped shirt area. FO with a long tail for sewing the head later.

- Rnds 2-8: Sc around. 8 sts each round.
Stuff very firmly. Sew one end to the top of the body and the other end into the lower head. This hidden support keeps the tall head upright.

Joining the Head and Body
Pin the head to the body before sewing. The muzzle should face forward and the body should sit upright. Use the hidden neck support to hold the head securely. Sew around the neck several times with golden yellow or matching yarn.
After the first sewing pass, check the doll from the front and side. If the head tilts too far forward, add a few extra stitches at the back of the neck. If it tilts backward, reinforce the front neck seam.
Positioning the Outfit Details
- Sew the overall bib centered on the belly.
- Place the red buttons at the upper bib corners.
- Attach the straps so they run over the shoulders and disappear behind the arms.
- Sew the light blue cuffs around the lower shorts area.
- Add one ladybug to the left side of the overalls and one near the shorts leg.
- Position the bee bag strap diagonally over the chest, crossing over the bib.
Optional Surface Crochet Texture
To make the overalls look more like denim, add a few vertical lines using surface slip stitch in slightly darker blue. Work one line down the center bib and one line on each side seam. Keep the lines subtle so they do not overpower the small buttons and bag.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Attach the ears securely on both sides of the head, making sure they are even from the front.
- Sew the muzzle to the lower face and shape the cheeks with small hidden stitches.
- Sew the pink nose to the center front of the muzzle.
- Add the open red mouth under the muzzle.
- Embroider eyebrows above the eyes with dark brown yarn.
- Add black tiger stripes to the orange head panels and orange legs.
- Sew the headband over the top of the head.
- Attach the small bee and pastel flowers to the headband.
- Sew the arms to the body after the overall straps are positioned.
- Sew the legs to the lower front of the body in a seated pose.
- Attach sandals and daisy flowers to the feet.
- Place the hat and plant props beside the doll for display.
Check the face carefully before tying off all threads. The expression should be bright and friendly, with the long muzzle centered and the pink nose sitting forward. Small differences in placement can change the personality of the doll, so pin every facial part first.
Shaping Tips for a Picture-Matching Finish
- Use firm stuffing in the head so the tall oval shape stays smooth.
- Use lighter stuffing in the muzzle so it can be sewn flat against the face.
- Keep the orange panels symmetrical but not too wide.
- Place the ears slightly behind the face line, not directly on the front.
- Sew the legs forward so the doll sits naturally on a bench or shelf.
- Let the arms hang down beside the overalls for the relaxed garden look.
- Keep all bees small and rounded so they look cute, not oversized.
Care Notes
Spot clean the doll gently with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak the doll if you used cardboard inside the hat or wire inside the sunflower. Let the doll air dry fully before storing or displaying.
If the doll is made for a child, replace safety eyes with embroidered eyes and avoid wire, beads, plastic inserts, and small loose buttons. Sew all small decorations very securely.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The head is firmly attached and does not wobble.
- The muzzle is centered and the pink nose is sewn securely.
- The mouth patch sits below the muzzle and is shaped into a happy open smile.
- The orange side panels and black stripes are balanced on both sides.
- The overalls have a centered bib, straps, cuffs, and red buttons.
- The shirt stripes line up neatly around the body and sleeves.
- The bee bag hangs diagonally across the front.
- The sandals have tan straps and white daisies.
- The headband bee and flower cluster are securely attached.
- The hat, ladybugs, sunflower pot, and succulent pot are finished for display.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
For long-term display, keep the doll away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. Store it in a breathable cotton bag or a clean display box when not in use. Avoid plastic bags for long storage because trapped moisture may affect the yarn.
To refresh the shape, gently press the stuffing back into place with your fingers. Do not pull on the muzzle, ears, bees, flowers, or bag strap. These small details are decorative and should be handled with care.
If dust collects on the doll, use a soft makeup brush or a cool hair dryer on the lowest setting. For small stains, dab gently instead of rubbing. Let the piece dry naturally in a shaded, airy place.
Finishing Note
Your Tigger Bee Garden Overall Doll is complete when the doll can sit upright, the head is balanced, the outfit details are secure, and the garden accessories frame the character with the same playful handmade charm shown in the image. Take your time with the facial placement and tiny decorations, because those final details create the cheerful garden personality.
