Create a charming woodland crochet play set featuring a large treehouse with a round cottage room, cone roof, wraparound balcony, ladder, leafy trees, rabbits, foxes, a small bear, a hedgehog, a fenced vegetable garden, a pond with ducklings, stepping stones, bridge, bench, flowers, and tiny accessories. This pattern uses firm amigurumi stitches, separate appliqué details, and layered assembly to match the cozy village scene in the image.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Finished Size
- Base: about 18 in wide x 15 in deep.
- Central treehouse: about 12 in tall from base to roof tip.
- Large trees: about 8 to 10 in tall.
- Rabbits: about 3.25 in tall.
- Foxes: adult foxes about 4 in tall, baby fox about 2.5 in tall.
- Pond: about 5.5 in wide.
Skill Level
Intermediate amigurumi. Confident beginners can follow this pattern if they already know working in continuous rounds, increasing, decreasing, sewing small pieces, and keeping tight tension.
Materials
- Worsted weight cotton or cotton-acrylic yarn in grass green, light green, medium green, dark green, brown, dark brown, tan, beige, cream, white, pink, orange, rust orange, gray, light blue, yellow, red, black, and small amounts of flower colors.
- 3.0 mm crochet hook for amigurumi pieces.
- 3.5 mm crochet hook for the base and flat panels.
- Fiberfill stuffing.
- Yarn needle.
- Stitch markers.
- Scissors.
- Small safety eyes, 5 mm for rabbits and ducklings, 6 mm for foxes and bear, or black yarn for embroidered eyes.
- Plastic canvas or firm felt for the base, balcony, ladder, and bench support.
- Cardboard tube or foam dowel for extra support inside the large tree trunk, optional.
Gauge
With a 3.0 mm hook in single crochet, 6 sts and 6 rounds should measure about 1 in. Exact gauge is less important than tight, even stitches. Use a smaller hook if stuffing shows through.

Important Pattern Notes
- Work amigurumi parts in continuous rounds unless the pattern says to join.
- Stuff pieces firmly enough to hold shape, but do not overstuff small accessories.
- The set is built on a thick rectangular green base with rounded corners.
- The large center trunk is sewn first, then the house room, roof, balcony, ladder, trees, animals, garden, pond, and accessories are added.
- Use pins before sewing. The finished scene depends on careful placement.

- Place the hedgehog near the right fence and mushroom.
- Place three ducklings on the pond.
25. Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Pin all pieces before sewing. Begin with the largest structures: base, central trunk, upper room, roof, balcony, ladder, and trees. After the large pieces are stable, add the pond, path, garden beds, fence, bench, and small accessories.
Use black yarn for embroidered eyes if making the set for a young child. Add tiny noses with satin stitches, not loose knots. Keep smiles short and gentle so the faces stay close to the soft woodland style.
For rabbits, embroider a pink nose between the eyes and add a short vertical black stitch below it. For foxes, add a dark nose on the cream muzzle and two small cheek stitches. For ducklings, keep the orange beak centered and slightly flat.
26. Care Notes
- Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Do not soak the whole play set if it contains cardboard or plastic canvas inserts.
- Let the set air dry flat and away from direct sunlight.
- Gently reshape leaves, animals, and roof while damp if needed.
27. Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Base: firm, flat, rounded, and fully edged.
- Treehouse: trunk is stable, room is centered, roof is secure.
- Balcony: platform, posts, rails, chairs, and table are sewn firmly.
- Ladder: bottom touches the grass and top reaches the balcony.
- Trees: leaf balls are tightly attached and balanced.
- Animals: faces are complete and all tails, ears, and limbs are secure.
- Garden: vegetables, fence, watering can, and berries are attached.
- Pond: stones, bridge, plants, and ducklings are placed neatly.
28. Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the treehouse village in a dry place where the roof and leaf clusters will not be crushed. If dust gathers on the set, use a soft brush and move gently around the small animals, flowers, and vegetables.
For long-term display, keep the play set away from strong sunlight because bright green, orange, and blue yarns may fade. If the base bends, place it on a flat surface overnight and gently press the edges back into shape.
If a small piece loosens, sew it back with matching yarn rather than glue. Yarn repair keeps the handmade texture clean, flexible, and safe for gentle play or decorative display.
