This cheerful frog prince amigurumi wears a blue and cream striped summer romper, a red bow tie, a tiny white crown, brown flower sandals, and a strawberry crossbody bag. The scene also includes a round blue sun hat, two little mushrooms, and a small decorated garden book accessory to match the playful handmade look in the image.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge and Working Notes
This pattern is worked tightly so the stuffing does not show. For the main frog pieces, 7 sc and 7 rounds should measure about 1 inch. If your stitches are loose, use a smaller hook. If your fabric becomes stiff and difficult to shape, use a slightly larger hook.
Most frog pieces are worked in continuous spiral rounds. Do not join unless the pattern says to join. Move your stitch marker at the end of every round. Stuff gradually, especially in the head and feet, so the final shape stays smooth and rounded.
- The frog head is wider than the body and slightly flattened at the front.
- The eyes sit high on the head and tilt outward slightly.
- The mouth ridge wraps across the front like a soft green band.
- The romper is crocheted directly onto the frog body for a fitted look.
- The arms are sewn at a downward angle so they rest beside the romper.
- The sandals are sewn around the feet after the toes are attached.
Main Frog Head
Use bright frog green yarn and a 2.25 mm hook. The head is a large rounded oval with a broad face. Stuff firmly but keep the front slightly compressed so the mouth ridge can sit across it neatly.

Stuff the head firmly. Press the front lower half gently between your palms to make a broad frog face. The wider section made in R19-R23 should sit at the front. Leave a long tail for sewing the head to the neck later.
Raised Mouth Ridge
The image shows a thick green lip ridge running across the lower face. This part is crocheted separately as a padded curved strip and then sewn across the front. Use green yarn and keep the strip slightly firm, not floppy.
- R1: ch 31, start in second ch from hook, 30 sc. Turn.

- R6: ch 1, dec, 30 sc, dec. 32 sts. Turn.
- R7: ch 1, 32 sc.
FO with a very long tail. Fold the strip lengthwise with the wrong sides together. Whipstitch the long open edge closed while adding a tiny amount of stuffing. Curve it gently into a smile-like band and pin across the lower front of the head.
Sew the ridge from one cheek to the other, about 8 rounds below the eye placement. The top edge should sit just under the eyes. The lower edge should create the frog’s wide mouth line. Add a short dark green or black embroidery line under the ridge if you want extra shadow.
Eye Bases
Make two eye bases. Each eye has a cream eyeball with a green eyelid cap. The eyes are large, round, and sit close together on top of the head. Place them slightly angled outward to match the gentle frog expression.
Cream Eyeballs
Use cream yarn. Make two.

Insert an 8 mm black safety eye between R4 and R5 of each cream eyeball, slightly forward of center. Stuff firmly. FO with a long tail. Do not close completely if you need the base to sit flatter on the head.
Green Eyelid Caps
Use green yarn. Make two.

- R3: (sc, inc) around. 18 sts.
- R4: (2 sc, inc) around. 24 sts.
- R5: 10 sc, 4 hdc, 10 sc. 24 sts.
- R6: 24 sc.
FO with a long tail. Place one green cap over the back and top half of each cream eyeball, leaving the lower front cream area visible. Sew around the cap edge with small stitches. The green cap should frame the eye like the image.
Attaching the Eyes
Pin the eyes on top of the head between R8 and R17 of the head. The inner edges should almost touch, with about 2 stitches between them. Tilt each eye outward slightly. Sew securely around the base several times because these eyes give the frog its main expression.
With white embroidery thread, add one tiny straight highlight on each black eye if using beads instead of safety eyes. Keep the highlights small so the eyes remain glossy and simple like the image.
Frog Body
The body is slim and slightly pear-shaped. The lower body is covered by the romper, but the green neck and upper shoulder area should remain visible above the striped outfit. Use green yarn.

Stuff the body firmly at the lower section and moderately near the neck. FO with a long tail. The narrower R23-R25 section becomes the neck that supports the large head.
Striped Summer Romper
The romper is worked directly around the body after the body is complete. It has alternating sky blue and cream stripes, short legs, and narrow blue straps. Begin at the lower body and work upward. Hold the frog upside down while crocheting if it feels easier.
Romper Lower Body
Attach sky blue yarn around R7 of the green body. Work through the surface of the body stitches, making one round of sc around the body. Keep the first round snug but not tight.
- R1 blue: surface crochet 36 sc evenly around R7 of the body. Join with sl st. 36 sts.
- R2 blue: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R3 cream: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R4 cream: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R5 blue: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R6 blue: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R7 cream: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R8 cream: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R9 blue: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.

- R12 cream: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
- R13 blue: ch 1, sc around, join. 36 sts.
This striped tube covers the body from the lower belly up toward the chest. The blue stripes should look bold and summery. Carry the unused yarn inside only if your tension stays neat; otherwise cut and rejoin each color for cleaner stripes.
Romper Chest Bib
With the front of the frog facing you, mark the center 16 stitches on R13 of the romper. Use sky blue yarn.
- Row 1: Join blue at the right front marker, ch 1, 16 sc across the front. Turn.
- Row 2: ch 1, dec, 12 sc, dec. 14 sts. Turn.
- Row 3: ch 1, 14 sc. Turn.
- Row 4: ch 1, dec, 10 sc, dec. 12 sts. Turn.
- Row 5: ch 1, 12 sc. Turn.
- Row 6: ch 1, 12 sc. FO.
Attach cream yarn at one upper corner of the bib. Work 1 sc evenly around the bib edges, placing 2 sc in each top corner. Join and FO. This border creates the clean cream trim seen at the top of the romper.
Romper Shorts
The romper has two short leg openings with stripes continuing down. Turn the body upside down. Use the lower edge of the romper tube as the starting point. Divide 36 stitches into two leg openings of 18 stitches each.
For the first short leg, join blue yarn at the inner crotch point. Work around 18 stitches only.
- Leg R1 blue: ch 1, 18 sc around, join.
- Leg R2 blue: ch 1, 18 sc around, join.
- Leg R3 cream: ch 1, 18 sc around, join.
- Leg R4 cream: ch 1, 18 sc around, join.
- Leg R5 blue: ch 1, 18 sc around, join.
- Leg R6 blue: ch 1, 18 sc around, join. FO.
Repeat the same six rounds for the second short leg. Sew the small gap between the two leg openings closed with blue yarn. The shorts should end just above the frog’s long green legs.
Romper Straps
Make two blue straps. They cross from the top of the front bib over the shoulders to the upper back. The image shows simple blue straps that blend into the romper.
- Strap: ch 25, start in second ch from hook, 24 sc. FO with a long tail.
Make two. Sew one end of each strap to the top corners of the front bib. Bring each strap over the shoulder area and sew to the back upper edge of the romper. Keep the straps flat and slightly angled outward.
Long Arms
The frog has long slim arms with three rounded fingers. Make two arms. Use green yarn. Stuff the upper arm very lightly and leave the fingers unstuffed unless your yarn is very soft.
Fingers
Make three fingers for each hand, six total.
- R1: 5 sc in MR. 5 sts.
- R2-R7: sc around. 5 sts for 6 rounds.
FO the first two fingers. Do not fasten off the third finger. The third finger becomes the working yarn used to join the hand.
Joining One Hand and Arm
- R1: With the third finger on the hook, sc 3 around finger three, sc 3 around finger two, sc 5 around finger one, sc 2 remaining around finger two, sc 2 remaining around finger three. 15 sts.
- R2: (3 sc, dec) around. 12 sts.
- R3: (2 sc, dec) around. 9 sts.
- R4-R28: sc around. 9 sts for 25 rounds.
- R29: Flatten opening, crochet 4 sc across both layers. FO with long tail.
Repeat for the second arm. Sew arms to the sides of the body just below the neck, about R21-R23 of the green body. Angle them downward so the fingers rest near the lower romper and legs.

Long Legs
The frog legs are slim and long, with large soft feet and three rounded toes. Make two legs. Start at the toes, join into a wide foot, then continue into a narrow leg.
Toes
Make three toes for each foot, six total.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: (sc, inc) around. 9 sts.
- R3-R6: sc around. 9 sts for 4 rounds.
FO the first two toes for one foot. Do not fasten off the third toe.
Joining One Foot
- R1: With third toe on hook, 5 sc around toe three, 5 sc around toe two, 9 sc around toe one, 4 sc remaining around toe two, 4 sc remaining around toe three. 27 sts.
- R2: sc around. 27 sts.
- R3: 6 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 6 sc. 25 sts.

- R5: 4 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 4 sc. 21 sts.
- R6: 3 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 3 sc. 19 sts.
- R7: 2 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 2 sc. 17 sts.
- R8: (sc, dec) 5 times, 2 sc. 12 sts.
Stuff the toes and front foot lightly. The foot should stay wide and flat, not round like a ball. Continue into the leg.
Leg Tube
- R9-R38: sc around. 12 sts for 30 rounds.
- R39: (2 sc, dec) around. 9 sts.
- R40: Flatten opening, crochet 4 sc across both layers. FO with long tail.
Repeat for the second leg. Sew legs under the body, inside the two short openings of the romper. The legs should angle outward slightly, giving the relaxed pose shown in the image.
Brown Sandals
The sandals are brown with a sole and simple straps across the frog toes. Each sandal also has a small flower decoration. Make two soles, two ankle straps, two toe straps, and two flowers.
Sandal Soles
Use brown yarn. Make two.
- R1: ch 12, start in second ch from hook, 10 sc, 3 sc in last ch, work on other side of chain, 9 sc, inc in last st. 24 sts.
- R2: inc, 9 sc, inc in next 3 sts, 9 sc, inc in next 2 sts. 30 sts.
- R3: sc, inc, 9 sc, (sc, inc) 3 times, 9 sc, (sc, inc) 2 times. 36 sts.
- R4: BLO sc around. 36 sts. FO.
Place each sole under a foot. The rounded front should sit under the toes. Sew around the outer edge, catching only small stitches so the sole remains visible.
Toe Strap
Use brown yarn. Make two.
- Row 1: ch 14, start in second ch from hook, 13 sc. FO with long tail.
Lay the strap across the base of the toes. Sew one end to the left side of the sole and the other end to the right side. Keep the strap snug enough to hold the foot shape but not so tight that the toes curl.
Ankle Strap
Use brown yarn. Make two.
- Row 1: ch 18, start in second ch from hook, 17 sc. FO with long tail.
Wrap the strap around the upper foot just before the narrow leg begins. Sew the ends to the sides of the sole. This forms the open sandal shape seen in the image.
Sandal Flowers
Make one blue flower and one peach flower, or choose two soft garden colors. Use a tiny amount of yellow or cream for the center.
- Center: With yellow or cream, 5 sc in MR, sl st to first sc. FO.
- Petals: Join flower color in any st, ch 2, 2 hdc in same st, ch 2, sl st in same st. Repeat in each of the 5 center sts. FO.
Sew one flower to each sandal strap near the outer side of the foot. In the image, the flowers sit near the toes and add a handmade summer detail.
Tiny White Crown
The crown sits between the eyes and slightly back on the head. It is small, white, and pointy, like a soft frog prince crown. Use white yarn and a 2.25 mm hook.
- R1: ch 18, join with sl st to form a ring, making sure not to twist. 18 sts.
- R2: ch 1, sc around, join. 18 sts.
- R3: ch 1, sc around, join. 18 sts.
- R4: (sl st, ch 4, start in second ch from hook, sc, hdc, dc, skip 2 sts on crown base, sl st in next st) repeat 6 times. FO.
Shape the points with your fingers. Sew the crown to the top of the head between the eye bases. Use small stitches around the bottom ring. Add a little stuffing only if your crown collapses.

Red Bow Tie
The bow tie is bright red and sits at the base of the head, centered above the romper bib. It is made from two small rectangles gathered in the middle.
- Bow panel R1: ch 16, start in second ch from hook, 15 sc. Turn.
- R2-R6: ch 1, 15 sc. Turn. FO.
Wrap red yarn tightly around the center of the rectangle 10 to 12 times to pinch it into a bow shape. Tie securely at the back. With the same yarn, sew the bow to the front neck area just under the mouth ridge.
Strawberry Crossbody Bag
The strawberry bag is red with a green leafy top and white seed stitches. The strap crosses the frog’s body from one shoulder to the opposite hip. Make one attached strawberry and one optional loose strawberry accessory if you want to match the image fully.
Strawberry Body
Use red yarn.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: sc around. 6 sts.
- R3: (sc, inc) around. 9 sts.
- R4: sc around. 9 sts.

- R9: (4 sc, inc) around. 18 sts.
- R10-R11: sc around. 18 sts for 2 rounds.
- R12: (sc, dec) around. 12 sts.
Stuff lightly. FO with a long tail and close the top. Shape the bottom into a gentle point with a few stitches pulled upward through the center.
Green Leaf Top
Use green yarn.
- R1: 6 sc in MR, sl st to first sc.
- Leaves: (ch 4, start in second ch from hook, sc, hdc, sc, sl st into next base st) repeat 6 times. FO.
Sew the leaf top onto the upper strawberry. With white embroidery thread, stitch small vertical seed marks across the strawberry. Add about 10 to 12 seeds, spaced unevenly for a natural look.
Bag Strap
Use red yarn.
- Strap: ch 82, start in second ch from hook, sl st in each ch across. FO with long tails.
Sew one strap end to each side of the strawberry top. Place the strap over one shoulder and across the romper. Tack the strap lightly to the shoulder and side of the body so the bag stays in place.
Loose Strawberry Accessory
Make a second strawberry using the same instructions. For the longer loose strap shown beside the frog, ch 110 and sl st back along the chain. Attach the strap to the second strawberry and let it form a soft loop.
Round Blue Sun Hat
The sun hat is a flat round blue hat with a shallow brim and cream circular stripes. Use sky blue as the main color. Work firmly so the hat keeps its round shape.
Hat Crown
Use sky blue yarn and a 2.5 mm hook.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.

- R23: (6 sc, inc) around. 96 sts.
- R24: sc around. 96 sts.
- R25: reverse sc around or sl st around for a firm edge. FO.
Flatten and shape the brim gently. The hat in the image is displayed beside the frog, so it does not need to fit perfectly on the head. Add a few hidden stitches under the brim if you want it to curve upward slightly at the edge.

Small Mushrooms
The image includes two small mushrooms near the frog. One has a red cap with white spots, and one has a soft brown cap. Both have cream stems. Make one of each.
Mushroom Stem
Use cream yarn. Make two.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: inc around. 12 sts.
- R3-R8: sc around. 12 sts for 6 rounds.
- R9: (2 sc, dec) around. 9 sts.

Stuff each stem lightly. Keep the base a little wider than the top.
Red Mushroom Cap
Use red yarn.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: inc around. 12 sts.
- R3: (sc, inc) around. 18 sts.
- R4: (2 sc, inc) around. 24 sts.
- R5-R6: sc around. 24 sts for 2 rounds.
- R7: BLO (2 sc, dec) around. 18 sts.
Stuff the cap lightly. Sew it onto one cream stem. Embroider 5 or 6 small white spots on the cap with short straight stitches.
Brown Mushroom Cap
Use light brown yarn.
- R1: 6 sc in MR. 6 sts.
- R2: inc around. 12 sts.
- R3: (sc, inc) around. 18 sts.
- R4: (2 sc, inc) around. 24 sts.
- R5: sc around. 24 sts.
- R6: BLO (2 sc, dec) around. 18 sts.
Sew the brown cap onto the second cream stem. Add three small cream embroidery dashes on the cap to match the handmade dotted look.
Small Garden Book Accessory
The small rectangular item near the frog looks like a tiny garden book or picnic notebook with a brown cover, cream pages, and green decoration. This piece is optional, but it completes the full scene from the image.
Book Pages
Use cream yarn.
- Row 1: ch 13, start in second ch from hook, 12 sc. Turn.
- Rows 2-8: ch 1, 12 sc. Turn.
- Border: ch 1, sc evenly around the rectangle, placing 2 sc in each corner. FO.
Brown Cover
Use brown yarn.
- Row 1: ch 15, start in second ch from hook, 14 sc. Turn.
- Rows 2-10: ch 1, 14 sc. Turn.
- Border: ch 1, sc evenly around, placing 2 sc in each corner. FO.
Sew the cream page rectangle onto the brown cover, leaving a narrow brown border visible. Add a small green embroidered vine and two tiny white or pink stitches to imitate the floral details on the accessory.
Extra Surface Details
These little details help the finished frog look closer to the image. Use small stitches and do not overdecorate. The charm comes from the clean frog shape, the bright stripes, and a few playful garden accents.
- Add a few tiny white seed stitches to both strawberries.
- Add one small blue flower to one sandal and one peach flower to the other.
- Add cream trim around the romper bib for contrast.
- Keep the crown white and simple, with six small points.
- Shape the mouth ridge so it curves gently across the face.
- Place the bow tie directly below the mouth ridge.
- Let the strawberry strap run diagonally across the chest.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Pin the head onto the narrow neck. The mouth ridge should face forward and sit level above the bow tie.
- Sew the head to the body using the long body or head tail. Go around the neck at least twice for strength.
- Pin the eyes before final stitching if you have not already attached them. They should sit high, with the green caps visible from the front.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the upper body, just below the head. Angle them down naturally.
- Sew the legs under the romper shorts, placing them slightly apart so the frog looks relaxed.
- Attach the romper straps from the front bib over the shoulders to the back.
- Sew the red bow tie at the center front neck.
- Sew the crown between and slightly behind the eyes.
- Place sandals on the feet and secure the soles and straps.
- Attach the strawberry bag strap diagonally across the body, then sew the strawberry to the hip area.
For the face, use the mouth ridge as the main expression. Add a tiny black or dark green line under the ridge only if you want more depth. Do not add a large smile, because the image has a soft, wide frog mouth rather than a drawn cartoon grin.
Care Notes
Spot clean the frog with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid soaking the full doll because the stuffed head, eyes, sandals, and accessories may dry unevenly. Let the piece air dry flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight.
- Do not machine wash if using safety eyes, beads, or delicate embroidery.
- Keep the crown and hat brim shaped by hand after cleaning.
- Store the strawberry bag strap flat so it does not stretch.
- Use a lint roller gently if dust collects on the cotton stitches.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
To preserve the shape, support the head and body while handling the frog. The large head and long limbs are part of the design, so avoid pulling the arms, legs, strawberry strap, or sandal flowers. Lift the doll from the body whenever possible.
For light cleaning, mix a small amount of gentle soap with cool water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture, squeeze out extra water, and dab the stained area. Use another damp cloth with plain water to remove soap residue.
After cleaning, lay the frog flat on a dry towel. Reshape the eyes, mouth ridge, hat brim, crown, and toes with your fingers while the yarn is slightly damp. Allow the piece to dry fully before storing or displaying.
For long-term storage, keep the frog prince in a breathable cotton bag or display box. Avoid plastic bags in humid places because moisture can affect the stuffing and yarn. Keep the doll away from strong sunlight to protect the bright green, blue, cream, and red colors.
