This sweet crochet honey bee girl is designed as a soft garden doll with a rounded yellow bee head, black antennae, blue wings, a leafy flower crown, black limbs, beige shoes, and a deep green garden dress. The full set also includes her crossbody bag with a tiny bee charm, a straw sun hat, a small paint palette, a flower card with brush, and a pink heart prop.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Finished Size
Using sport weight cotton yarn and a 2.25 mm hook, the main bee girl measures about 8.5 inches tall from the bottom of the shoes to the top of the head, not including antennae. The sun hat is about 3.5 inches wide. The bag is about 1.5 inches tall.
The doll is built with a large rounded-square head, a smaller body under the dress, narrow black arms and legs, soft oval wings, and layered accessories. Work firmly so the stitches look tight and clean, similar to the compact texture shown in the reference image.
Skill Level
Intermediate beginner to intermediate. The main stitches are simple, but this design has many small details. Read through the whole pattern before starting, especially the face, dress, accessories, and final assembly sections.

Gauge and Working Notes
Gauge is not critical for this doll, but tight stitches are important. As a guide, 7 sc and 8 rounds should measure about 1 inch with sport cotton and a 2.25 mm hook. If your stuffing shows through, use a smaller hook.
Most amigurumi parts are worked in continuous rounds. Do not join unless the pattern says to join. Use a stitch marker at the first stitch of each round. Stuff pieces gradually, shaping them with your fingers as you go.
The head is intentionally wider than the body. It should look like a soft rounded bee face with lightly flattened sides and a gently curved bottom. The body is smaller because the green garden dress creates the visible outfit shape.
Color Placement Overview
- Honey yellow: head, neck, upper body, and small exposed side areas under the dress.
- Black: antennae, arms, legs, and bee stripes.
- Deep green: dress, shoulder straps, leaf crown, hat band, and leaves.
- Light blue: wings behind the arms.
- Beige: shoes, bag, hat, palette, and card edging.
- White and brown: eye rings, eye edging, muzzle, flowers, and small details.
Main Head
Use honey yellow yarn and a 2.25 mm hook. The head is a rounded-square shape. Stuff firmly but do not overstuff so much that the lower face loses its soft curve.

Finish stuffing the head. FO, leaving a long tail. Close the remaining opening. Shape the bottom of the head with your hands so it sits slightly flat above the body.

Brown Eye Rims
Make 2 with medium brown yarn and a 2.00 mm hook. These sit inside the white eye rings and frame the black eyes.
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
- Rnd 2: inc in each st around. (12)
- Rnd 3: (sc, inc) 6 times. (18)
Sl st and FO, leaving a tail. Sew one brown circle centered on each white eye ring. Place the black eye in the center before fully sewing down, or sew a glossy black button-like eye on top.
Eye Highlights
With white embroidery thread, make one tiny straight stitch on the upper outer area of each black eye. Keep the highlight small so the eyes remain glossy and rounded, like the shiny bead eyes in the image.
Small Brown Nose
Use brown yarn and a 2.00 mm hook. The nose is a small oval placed between and slightly below the eyes.
- Rnd 1: ch 5. Starting in the second ch from hook, 3 sc, 3 sc in last ch, work on the other side of the chain, 2 sc, inc in last ch. (10)
- Rnd 2: inc, 2 sc, inc 3 times, 2 sc, inc 2 times. (16)
- Rnd 3: sc in each st around. (16)
FO, leaving a long tail. Add a small amount of stuffing. Sew the nose between Rnds 20 and 24 of the head, centered below the inner eye edges.
Smile and Eyebrows
Use dark brown embroidery thread. Stitch a short curved smile under the nose across Rnds 25-26. The smile should be soft and shallow, not wide. Add two small curved eyebrows above the eyes, each about 4 stitches long, angled gently upward toward the center.
Cheeks
Use light pink yarn or blush. Place the cheeks at the outer lower sides of the eyes, around Rnds 23-25. For yarn cheeks, make 2 small straight stitches on each side. For powder blush, apply lightly and build the color slowly.
Antennae
Make 2 with black yarn and a 2.25 mm hook. Each antenna has a thin stem and a rounded bobble tip.
Antenna Stem
- Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR. (5)
- Rnds 2-10: sc in each st around. (5)
Do not stuff the stem heavily. Insert a small amount of stuffing only if needed, or leave it flexible. Continue directly to the tip.

Stuff the tip firmly. FO and close the hole. Sew the antennae to the top of the head between Rnds 4 and 8. Angle them slightly outward, matching the playful position in the image.
Body
Use honey yellow yarn. The body is small and mostly covered by the green dress. A few yellow areas should remain visible at the upper chest and side openings.

Stuff the body firmly. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. The narrow top of the body should tuck under the head.
Neck Connector
Use honey yellow yarn. This short connector gives the head a secure base and keeps it from wobbling.
- Rnd 1: 12 sc in MR. (12)
- Rnds 2-4: sc in each st around. (12)
Stuff lightly. Sew one end to the top of the body and the other end to the lower center of the head. The head should sit low and close to the shoulders.
Small Bee Stripe on Chest
With brown yarn, embroider a short zigzag stripe across the upper yellow chest just above the dress bib. Work 8 small backstitches across the front. Keep it subtle so the green dress remains the main clothing detail.
Green Garden Dress
The dress is worked from the top down in deep green yarn. It has a bib-style front, wide skirt, shoulder straps, and a scalloped hem. The dress should sit high under the bee head and flare gently over the legs.

- Attach the pink heart to the left hand.
- Arrange the hat, palette, flower card, and brush as separate accessories.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check the face before making final knots. The white eye rings should be large and close together, the brown rims should sit centered, and the nose should be placed slightly below the eyes. The smile should stay small and gentle.
Sew the head firmly with several passes through the neck and lower head. The doll has a large head, so stability matters. Keep all knots hidden inside the body or under clothing pieces.
Adjust the antennae so they lean outward evenly. If they droop, add a few extra anchoring stitches at the base. Do not pull too tight, or the top of the head may pucker.
Finish by adding blush, eyebrows, small dress flowers, and any final leaf details. These tiny decorations create the soft garden character seen in the image.
Care Notes
Spot clean only. Use a damp cloth with mild soap and gently press the dirty area. Do not soak the doll because the face, blush, accessories, and small sewn pieces may shift or lose shape.
Let the doll air dry completely on a towel. Reshape the wings, hat brim, dress hem, and bag strap while damp if needed. Keep away from strong heat and direct sunlight.

- Dress bib, straps, buttons, flowers, and scalloped hem are secure.
- Wings are visible behind both arms.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Store the bee girl in a dry place away from dust. If displaying her with the hat and art accessories, keep the small pieces in a shallow tray or box so they do not get lost.
For long-term preservation, avoid heavy pressure on the antennae, wings, and hat brim. Wrap the doll loosely in tissue paper and place it in a breathable cotton bag.
If the dress hem curls, smooth it with your fingers and lightly steam from a safe distance. Do not press a hot iron directly on the crochet fabric, safety eyes, blush, or embroidered details.
