Work in continuous spiral rounds unless a section specifically instructs you to join or turn. Place a marker in the first stitch of every round. Stuff the head, body, hands, shoes, and legs gradually rather than waiting until the final round.
All stitch counts appear at the end of each round or row. Invisible decreases are recommended because they produce the smooth, compact surface visible on the finished giraffe.
Giraffe Head
Use warm cream yarn and the 2.75 mm hook. The head is intentionally large and gently rounded, with additional straight rounds through the center to create the tall giraffe face shown in the image.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
For routine care, remove loose dust with a clean, soft brush. Spot clean small marks with cool water and a drop of mild, color-safe soap. Press the damp area gently with a clean cloth rather than rubbing the crochet stitches.
For deeper cleaning, place the doll in cool water and gently squeeze the soapy water through the fabric. Do not twist or wring. Rinse until the water runs clear, then press the doll between folded towels to remove excess moisture.
Reshape the head, muzzle, shoes, coat collar, apron, and accessories while damp. Allow every piece to air dry completely on a flat, ventilated surface. Store the finished display in a dry container with acid-free tissue paper supporting the glasses, ears, bow, and chef hat.
