Gauge and Crochet Notes
Gauge is not critical, but the stitches must be tight enough so the stuffing does not show. For a firm plush shape like the photo, use a hook smaller than the yarn label suggests.
- Work most pieces in continuous rounds unless a row is clearly stated.
- Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round.
- Stuff the head and body firmly, but do not overstuff the ears, collar, flowers, or shirt.
- When changing color, complete the last yarn-over of the previous stitch with the new color.
- Pin all parts in place before sewing to keep the face balanced.
Head
Use warm gray yarn. The head is large, round, and slightly wider than the body. Stuff firmly as you work.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the head securely to the body. Add extra stitches at the back of the neck so the large head does not tilt backward.
- Sew the muzzle to the lower face, centered between the eyes. The red nose should sit at the top center of the muzzle.
- Attach ears to both sides of the head, angled outward and slightly upward.
- Sew antlers firmly to the top of the head behind the flower crown line.
- Attach arms under the shirt sleeves so the gray hands hang beside the body.
- Sew legs to the lower body, keeping the feet forward and visible.
- Fit the tan shorts around the lower body and secure them at the back and waist.
- Wrap the blue shirt around the torso and sew it in place neatly at the shoulders and underarms.
- Add the collar, buttons, acorn embroidery, and shirt front details.
- Place the satchel strap diagonally across the body and sew the bag at the lower left front.
- Sew the flower crown across the forehead between the antlers.
- Place the pumpkins and blue beanie beside the reindeer as matching autumn accessories.
For the face, use black embroidery thread to add a tiny highlight stitch above each eye if you want extra expression. Keep the red nose rounded and centered, with one straight mouth line going down the muzzle. Do not add a smile, because the image has a sweet simple expression.
Care Notes
- Spot clean the finished reindeer with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Do not machine wash if using safety eyes, buttons, or delicate flower details.
- Let the doll air dry flat in a shaded place.
- Reshape the antlers, ears, collar, and satchel while damp if needed.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The head is larger than the body and firmly stuffed.
- The cream muzzle is centered low on the face.
- The red nose sits at the top of the muzzle with one vertical line below.
- The ears are wide, gray outside, cream inside, and angled outward.
- The antlers are cream, tall, forked, and securely sewn.
- The blue shirt has four front buttons, collar, sleeves, and acorn embroidery.
- The tan shorts sit under the shirt with ribbed cuffs near the knees.
- The sandals have brown straps and pastel flowers.
- The mushroom satchel hangs diagonally across the front.
- The pastel flower crown sits between the ears and antlers.
- The blue beanie and two pumpkins are finished as separate accessories.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Keep the reindeer away from direct sunlight for long periods, especially if you use cotton yarn in soft pastel colors. Sunlight can fade the blue shirt, flower crown, pumpkins, and red mushroom details.
To store the doll, wrap it loosely in acid-free tissue or a clean cotton cloth. Do not press the antlers flat. Place the beanie, pumpkins, and satchel in the same storage box so the full set stays together.
If dust collects on the stitches, use a soft makeup brush or clean paintbrush to gently sweep over the surface. Brush around the buttons, flowers, and acorn embroidery carefully so small details stay secure.
For long-term display, sit the reindeer upright with support behind the body. This protects the neck seam and helps the antlers stay vertical. Check sewn-on buttons and accessories occasionally, especially if the doll will be handled often.
