Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Pattern Overview
The dog is knitted primarily in the round with separate limbs, ears, muzzle pads, clothing, and accessories. The body is softly stuffed, while the dress remains removable. Small decorative pieces are knitted separately and attached during the final assembly.
- Skill level: Confident beginner to intermediate.
- Finished dog height: Approximately 18 inches or 46 cm from the top of the head to the soles.
- Head width: Approximately 7 inches or 18 cm.
- Dress length: Approximately 9 inches or 23 cm from neckline to hem.
- Construction: Knitted in the round and flat, followed by seaming and embroidery.
- US terminology: All knitting abbreviations and instructions use standard US knitting terms.
Materials
- Approximately 250 yards of smooth white DK-weight yarn for the dog.
- Approximately 180 yards of cream DK-weight yarn for the dress.
- Approximately 150 yards of muted mint DK-weight yarn for stripes, cuffs, shoes, and tea-set trim.
- Approximately 100 yards of beige DK-weight yarn for the hat, satchel, and tea set.
- Small amounts of dusty pink, rose pink, pale yellow, olive green, lavender, and dark gray yarn.
- US size 3 or 3.25 mm double-pointed needles.
- US size 4 or 3.5 mm straight or circular needles for the dress and accessories.
- Two 8 mm black safety eyes or black embroidery yarn.
- Polyester fiberfill.
- One tapestry needle.
- Stitch markers.
- Waste yarn or stitch holders.
- Two small buttons for the back neckline of the dress.
- Optional plastic pellets in a securely sewn fabric pouch for extra lower-body weight.
Gauge and Finished Fabric
Dog gauge: 26 stitches and 34 rounds equal 4 inches or 10 cm in stockinette stitch using US size 3 needles. The fabric should be firm enough to prevent stuffing from showing through the stitches.
Dress gauge: 24 stitches and 32 rows equal 4 inches or 10 cm in stockinette stitch using US size 4 needles. Check the dress against the body before completing the hem.
Exact gauge is more important than the recommended needle size. Move to smaller needles if the fabric appears loose. Move to larger needles only when the stitches are excessively tight and difficult to work.

- Attach the yellow flower and pink butterfly above the eyes.
- Put the floral sandals onto the feet and secure them with hidden stitches.

Care Notes
Keep the finished dog away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Support the head and body when moving the doll so the neck seam does not experience unnecessary strain.
The hat, satchel, and tea accessories may be removed before cleaning. Avoid pulling the shaggy ear and muzzle strands because repeated tension can loosen their attachment knots.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Both eyes are level and evenly spaced.
- The muzzle is centered directly below the eyes.
- The nose sits horizontally across the muzzle pads.
- The ears hang at matching angles.
- The dress stripes align neatly at the center back.
- The skirt hem is level around the body.
- The arms and legs are attached symmetrically.
- The sandals fit securely without covering the white toes.
- The satchel hangs at the left hip.
- The teapot, cup, saucer, and hat sit flat.
- All yarn tails and knots are hidden.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
For routine cleaning, gently dust the doll with a soft makeup brush or a low-suction handheld vacuum covered with a fine mesh cloth. Work in the direction of the knitted stitches.
Spot-clean marks with cool water and a small amount of mild wool-safe detergent. Blot gently with a white cloth. Do not rub, twist, wring, or soak the stuffed doll.
After cleaning, reshape the head, muzzle, ears, dress, and feet by hand. Allow every piece to air-dry completely on a clean towel away from heaters and direct sunlight.
Store the finished set in a breathable cotton bag or an acid-free storage box. Do not compress the ears, hat brim, teapot spout, or floral decorations during long-term storage.
