Gauge and Construction Notes
Use tight amigurumi tension so stuffing does not show. The box panels should feel firm, with neat horizontal rows resembling the image. If your panels curl, block them lightly before joining. Keep small pieces proportional by using the same hook and yarn weight for all miniature bathroom accessories.
The gift box is made from five rectangular panels: front, back wall, floor, left side, and right side. The back wall stands upright, while the front wall is lower to display the bathtub. Plastic canvas inside each panel helps create the squared, suitcase-like shape shown in the photo.
The tub is worked as a long oval bowl with raised sides and four short feet. The otter sits inside the bubble bath, so the lower body does not need to be fully visible. Build the otter head, muzzle, arms, tail, and paws separately, then sew them into the tub before adding bubbles.
Light Blue Bathroom Gift Box Base

Use light blue yarn and a 2.75 mm hook. Work in rows, ch 1 and turn at the end of each row unless stated otherwise.

- Border Rnd 2: BLO sc around, placing 3 sc in each corner stitch. FO with a long tail.
Cut plastic canvas to fit inside the panel, about 7.5 in by 5.5 in. Sew the canvas to the wrong side using long whip stitches. Keep the right side smooth and even.

Sew plastic canvas behind the panel. Attach the front wall to the front edge of the floor. The front wall should be low enough for the cream ribbon band and large bow to sit clearly across the front.
Side Walls
- Make 2. With light blue, ch 35.
- Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and across. 34 sc.
- Rows 2-14: Sc across. 34 sc each row.
- Border Rnd 1: Sc around, placing 3 sc in each corner.
- Border Rnd 2: BLO sc around. FO.
Stiffen each side wall with plastic canvas. Sew the side walls to the floor, front, and back wall. Use small mattress stitches from the outside so the corners look rounded and padded like the soft gift box in the image.
Rounded Top Edge
Join light blue yarn at the top right corner of the back wall. Sc evenly along the top edge. Work 2 more rows of sc along the back wall top only. This creates the thick rounded lip visible at the top of the blue bathroom box.
Cream Ribbon Band Around the Front
- With cream yarn, ch 47.
- Row 1: Hdc in the 2nd ch from hook and across. 46 hdc.
- Rows 2-5: Ch 1, BLO hdc across. 46 hdc.

Wrap the cream band across the front wall, centered vertically. The band should cover the middle of the light blue front panel. Sew it in place along the top and bottom edges, stretching gently but not distorting the box.
Large Cream Bow
Bow Loops

Bow Center
- With cream yarn, ch 8.
- Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and across. 7 sc.
- Rows 2-7: Sc across. FO with a long tail.
Place both bow loops together at the center. Wrap the center strip around them and sew tightly at the back. Attach the bow to the middle of the cream band on the front of the box.

Fairy Light Garland and Wall Bubbles
For safe decorative use, attach a battery mini LED strand to the back wall and around the box edge. Do not crochet directly over hot lights. Use low-heat LED lights only and keep the battery pack outside the crochet box.

- Sew or tack the chain along the top inside edge of the back wall and down the left side.
- Make 7 tiny yellow light covers: 5 sc in MR, sl st to close, FO.

- Make 1 large cream bubble using the large bubble pattern.
- Make 2 medium cream bubbles using the medium bubble pattern.
- Sew them to the top left edge of the back wall, with the large bubble in the center and smaller bubbles on each side.
These bubbles make the bathroom box look playful from above and match the soft foam details in the original scene.
Placement Guide
- Back wall left: round mirror, wall bubbles, and part of the fairy light chain.
- Back wall center: small shelf with three candles.
- Back wall right: hanging plant and white shower curtain.
- Floor center: cream clawfoot tub with otter and bubble bath.
- Floor left: folded pastel towel, blue bottle, and yellow rubber duck.
- Floor front center: oval pastel bath rug.
- Floor right: shell soap dish with pink soap.
- Front outside: cream ribbon band and large plush bow.
Assembly Order
- Finish all box panels first, then insert plastic canvas and sew the box into an open suitcase shape.
- Add the cream ribbon band to the front wall, then sew the large cream bow to the middle.
- Attach the wall decorations before placing the bathtub. This makes sewing easier.
- Sew the mirror on the upper left back wall, the shelf near the center, and the plant on the upper right.
- Add the curtain on the far right so it hangs softly beside the tub.
- Make the tub, feet, otter, and bubbles. Assemble them as one unit before attaching the tub to the floor.
- Place the towel, bottle, duck, rug, soap dish, and soap around the tub.
- Add the fairy light chain last, securing it with small stitches without pulling the wall out of shape.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Sew the otter head to the body at a slight angle so the face looks upward and friendly. The raised arm should hold the shower wand diagonally across the chest. Keep the second arm resting naturally on the tub rim.
Check the face before securing knots. The eyes should sit evenly, the muzzle should be centered, and the nose should point toward the front of the box. Add whiskers after the muzzle is fully sewn down so the stitches remain clean.
Arrange the bubbles in uneven clusters. Avoid lining them up too neatly. The image has a soft, natural bubble bath texture with large and small bubbles mixed together around the otter, over the rim, and across the top edge.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with cool water and mild soap.
- Do not machine wash if plastic canvas, cardboard, glue, or LED lights are used.
- Let the piece air dry completely before storing.
- Keep the display away from direct sunlight to protect pastel colors.
- If using LED lights, remove batteries before long-term storage.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- The box stands open with a firm upright back wall.
- The cream bow is centered on the front ribbon band.
- The bathtub is oval, raised, and supported by four small feet.
- The otter has a cream muzzle, black nose, smiling mouth, whiskers, and pastel towel wrap.
- Bubbles fill the tub and spill over the front rim.
- The towel, duck, bottle, rug, soap dish, shell, mirror, shelf, candles, plant, curtain, fairy lights, and top bubbles are all attached securely.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a soft makeup brush to remove dust from the bubbles, otter face, shelf, plant, and bow. Brush gently in the direction of the stitches. For small marks, dab with a damp cloth instead of rubbing.
Store the bathroom gift box upright in a clean container. Add tissue paper inside the tub and around the bow to help preserve the shape. Keep heavy items away from the back wall and curtain so the scene stays open and balanced.
If the bow or towel becomes flattened, reshape it with your fingers and let it rest overnight. Do not iron the amigurumi pieces. Light steam may be used from a distance on flat panels only, before electronics or cardboard are added.
