Gauge and Crochet Texture
The doll in the image has tight, even amigurumi stitches with almost no visible stuffing gaps. Use a hook small enough that the fabric feels firm. With sport-weight cotton and a 2.25 mm hook, 10 sc should measure about 1 in / 2.5 cm across.
Stuff the head firmly, the body medium-firm, and the arms and legs lightly near the top so they hang naturally. The overalls should sit snugly over the body and legs without looking bulky.
Important Color Placement Notes
- The cat face is mainly white on the lower muzzle and cheeks, with cream on the upper head.
- The top of the forehead has several vertical rust orange stripes.
- The upper arms are cream with rust orange stripes, while the lower paws are white.
- The overalls are green with horizontal white bands across the middle and shorts.
- The legs show cream and white sock sections, with green sandals and beige soles.
- The tail is cream with rust orange stripes and a rust orange tip.
- The accessories are garden themed: a watering can bag, sunflower pot, carrot pot, and round green-striped hat.

- R20: repeat [sc 3, dec] 6 times. (24)
- R21: repeat [sc 2, dec] 6 times. (18)
Stuff the head firmly. Shape the cheeks gently with your fingers as you stuff. The white lower face should remain centered under the eyes. Do not overstuff the lower edge, because the neck must sew neatly beneath it.
- R22: repeat [sc 1, dec] 6 times. (12)
- R23: dec 6 times. (6)
FO, close the opening, and weave in the end. The head should look round with a soft cat-cheek shape, not like a perfect ball. Lightly press the top left and right corners where the ears will be attached.
Cat Ears
Make 2 ears in cream yarn. The ears are small triangular pieces, sewn onto the upper corners of the head, leaning outward slightly.
- R1: 4 sc in MR. (4)
- R2: sc 4. (4)
- R3: repeat [sc 1, inc] 2 times. (6)

- R7: repeat [sc 3, inc] 2 times. (10)
- R8: sc 10. (10)
- R9: repeat [sc 4, inc] 2 times. (12)
Do not stuff heavily. Add only a tiny pinch of fiberfill near the base. Flatten the opening and sc 6 through both layers. FO with a long tail.
Sew the ears between R7 and R13 of the head. Place each ear about 7 sts away from the center top. Angle the tips outward, matching the playful wide-eared look in the image.
Forehead Stripes
Use rust orange yarn and a yarn needle. The stripes sit vertically on the cream forehead, above the white face panel.
- Center stripe: embroider 5 vertical straight stitches from R8 to R12, about 1 st wide.
- Left stripe: embroider 4 vertical stitches from R8 to R11, placed 4 sts left of center.
- Right stripe: embroider 4 vertical stitches from R8 to R11, placed 4 sts right of center.
- Outer tiny stripes: embroider 2 short stitches on each side near the ear base, from R9 to R10.
Keep the stripes slightly raised but not bulky. The image shows neat short orange markings, so avoid covering too much of the cream forehead.
Face Embroidery
- Use light pink thread to make a small inverted triangle nose between R15 and R16.
- Use black thread to stitch one short vertical line from the nose down to R17.
- Add a small curved mouth on each side of the vertical line.
- Use rust orange yarn to stitch three short whisker marks on each cheek, between R14 and R16.
- Add one tiny black eyelash stitch near the outer side of each eye if desired.
The expression should be calm and sweet. Do not make the mouth too large. The image has a very small face with glossy eyes, subtle cheeks, and a delicate nose.
Body Base
The body is crocheted in cream and later covered by green overalls. Work from the neck downward. Use cream yarn.

FO with a sewing tail. Sew one end of each strap to the top corners of the bib. Bring each strap over the shoulder and sew to the back waistline. Attach one tan button to each front strap end. The buttons should sit high on the chest, just like the image.
Arms
Make 2 arms. Start with white yarn for the paws, then change to cream and add rust orange sleeve stripes.

Stuff the foot firmly and the leg lightly. Sew the legs to the bottom of the body under the shorts. Position them slightly apart so the doll can sit flat like the image.
Sandals
The sandals have beige soles, green straps, and small pink flowers near the outer sides.
Beige Soles
Make 2 with beige yarn.
- R1: ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 4, 3 sc in last ch. Work on opposite side: sc 4, inc in last st. (14)

Stuff lightly. FO with a long tail. Sew the tail to the back right side of the body, letting it curve outward and then down. The rust orange tip should be visible from the front right side.
Neck Stripe Detail
The image shows a small rust orange striped marking around the neck area. After attaching the head, embroider short rust orange stitches around the front neck.
- Make 7 small vertical stitches around the front collar line.
- Each stitch should be about 1 round tall.
- Keep spacing even, about 1 stitch apart.

- For each leaf, ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc 1, hdc 2, sc 1, sl st 1.
- Sew all 3 leaves to the top of the carrot.
Small Body Flower Appliques
To match the garden look, add tiny flowers to the overalls, hat, and watering can. Keep these very small.
- Make a French knot for the center using yellow yarn.
- Make 4 or 5 straight stitches around the knot using pink, white, blue, or red thread.
- Add one short green stem below each flower.
- For leaves, stitch one small V shape using light green thread.
Place one white flower on the left side of the bib, one pink flower near the center, one yellow flower near the right side, and two tiny red flowers on the lower shorts. This placement gives the same soft garden outfit style shown in the image.
Joining the Head and Body
Pin the head to the body before sewing. The head is larger than the body and should sit centered, with the white face facing forward and the overalls bib directly under the chin.
- Use the long yarn tail from the body or a separate cream yarn strand.
- Sew through the top body stitches and the lower head stitches one stitch at a time.
- Go around the neck twice for strength.
- Add a little extra stuffing into the neck before closing the final gap.
- Check that the doll can sit straight and that the head does not tilt backward.
The head should look slightly oversized and sweet, matching the image. If it wobbles, add more stitches around the back of the neck and pull firmly.
Assembly Order
- Crochet and stuff the head.
- Add safety eyes and facial embroidery.
- Sew ears to the head.
- Add forehead stripes and head flower.
- Crochet the body base.
- Make the shorts and bib, then attach them to the body.
- Make and attach the straps and buttons.
- Crochet arms and legs, then sew them to the body.
- Add sandals, sandal flowers, and toe embroidery.
- Sew the head to the body.
- Add the tail to the back right side.
- Make the crossbody strap and watering-can bag.
- Make the hat, sunflower pot, and carrot pot.
- Finish all tiny embroidery details.
Toe and Paw Details
Use black embroidery thread for the toes. On each white foot, stitch 3 short vertical lines across the front toe area. Place the lines evenly across R3 and R4 of the foot.
For the paws, you may add two very small curved stitches near the lower front of each white hand. Keep them subtle. The image focuses more on the outfit, so the paw details should not overpower the doll.
Button Placement
The two tan buttons are important because they visually define the green overalls. Sew them at the top corners of the bib, directly over the lower ends of the shoulder straps.
- Left button: place on the viewer’s left bib corner.
- Right button: place on the viewer’s right bib corner.
- Use beige or green thread and stitch through each button at least 4 times.
- Knot securely on the inside or back of the bib.
How to Keep the Doll Proportions Accurate
The cat should have a large rounded head, small triangular ears, a short body, slim arms, short legs, and wide little feet. The head should be about one third of the full doll height. The overalls should cover most of the body and the top of the legs.
The accessories should stay small and delicate. The watering can should not cover the entire front of the overalls. The flower on the head should sit near the ear, not in the middle of the forehead. The tail should peek out from the right side.
Optional Wire-Free Standing Tips
This doll is designed as a soft toy-style decorative amigurumi and does not need wire inside the body. If you want it to sit neatly for photos, stuff the feet firmly and keep the upper legs lightly stuffed.
For the sunflower stem only, a covered wire can help it stand upright. If the item is intended for a young child, avoid wire and use a crocheted chain stem sewn to the pot and flower instead.
Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
Check the face first. The eyes should be even, the pink nose centered, and the mouth short and gentle. Add tiny rust orange cheek stripes on both sides after the eyes are secured, because this makes it easier to balance the expression.
Sew the ears firmly with the tips angled outward. Attach the flower and leaves to the head after the ears are sewn. This lets the flower overlap the ear base naturally without hiding the cat shape.
After the head is attached, add the neck stripe embroidery. Then place the crossbody strap diagonally and sew the watering can at the lower front. Finish by smoothing the overalls and adjusting the straps so the buttons sit evenly.

Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Keep the finished crochet cat away from direct sunlight for long periods, especially because the white, cream, green, and rust orange colors can fade unevenly. Store it in a clean dry place with enough space around the ears, flower, and accessories.
If dust collects on the doll, use a soft brush and gently brush in the direction of the crochet stitches. For the flower pot accessories, hold the base while cleaning the stems so the small sewn joins are not pulled loose.
For long-term storage, wrap the doll loosely in acid-free tissue paper or a clean cotton cloth. Do not compress the head or sandals. Keep the watering-can strap flat so it does not twist permanently.
Check the buttons, safety eyes, flower appliques, and strap stitches from time to time. If any sewn detail becomes loose, repair it with matching yarn before displaying or gifting the doll.
