Pattern Notes
This design is worked as a display piece. The greenhouse is built from crocheted frames with fabric or mesh inserted behind them to copy the soft translucent aqua look in the image. Keep stitches firm so the walls stand upright.
The greenhouse has an octagon-inspired round shape. It uses six visible wall sections, two open front doors, tall window panels, and a pointed roof made from triangular mint panels separated by raised ribs.
The garden base is made first, then the greenhouse is sewn to the center. All small garden details are sewn on after the main structure is stable. Pin every piece before sewing so the layout stays balanced.
Gauge
- With DK cotton and a 2.75 mm hook, 8 sc x 8 rows should measure about 1 inch.
- Gauge is not critical, but tight stitches are important for the animals, bees, flowers, and firm greenhouse frame.
- If your greenhouse feels floppy, add an extra round of surface sl st on frame edges or insert craft wire inside the frame seams.
Round Garden Base
Use grass green yarn and the 2.75 mm hook. Work in continuous rounds. This base should be flat, firm, and wide enough to hold the greenhouse, pond, flowers, tea table, and animal guests.

Base Thickness
Make a second base circle through Rnd 24 only. Place cardboard or plastic canvas between the two circles. Hold both circles together with wrong sides facing. Join tan yarn and sc through both layers around. FO securely.
Garden Path Dividers
The base in the image is divided into garden wedges by tan raised paths. These paths also help the whole scene look organized and honeycomb-like.
- Cut 8 tan yarn lengths, each about 18 inches long.
- Surface sl st from the center front area to the outer edge, spacing each path like pie slices.
- Make one wider front path from the greenhouse door to the outer edge by crocheting 2 parallel surface sl st lines about 1 inch apart.
- For each divider, work back over the line with sc around the surface chain if you want a thicker raised ridge.
Stepping Stones
Use pale yellow yarn and the 2.25 mm hook. Make 18 stones in mixed sizes. Place them in front of the greenhouse doors and along the lower garden path.
Small Oval Stone
- Ch 5.
- Rnd 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 2, 3 sc in last ch, working on other side of chain sc 2, inc in last space. 10 sts.

- Rnd 2: inc around. 12 sts.
- Rnd 3: sc 1, inc, repeat around. 18 sts.
- Rnd 4: sl st loosely around. FO.
Sew the stones in an uneven garden path. Leave small green spaces between them so the base still looks like grass.
Greenhouse Floor
Use dark green yarn for the inner greenhouse floor. This piece sits under the greenhouse and shows through the open doors.
- Rnd 1: MR, 8 sc. 8 sts.
- Rnd 2: inc around. 16 sts.
- Rnd 3: sc 1, inc, repeat around. 24 sts.
- Rnd 4: sc 2, inc, repeat around. 32 sts.
- Rnd 5: sc 3, inc, repeat around. 40 sts.
- Rnd 6: sc 4, inc, repeat around. 48 sts.
- Rnd 7: sc 5, inc, repeat around. 56 sts.
- Rnd 8: sc 6, inc, repeat around. 64 sts.
- Rnd 9: sc in each st around. 64 sts.
- Rnd 10: with honey gold yarn, sl st around for the rim. FO.
Sew this floor to the center of the base before attaching the wall frame.
Greenhouse Wall Panels
Make 8 tall rectangular panels with honey gold yarn. Two front panels will become open doors. The other six panels form the greenhouse walls. Each panel is crocheted as a firm frame.
Wall Frame, Make 6
- Ch 20.
- Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. 19 sts.
- Rows 2–4: ch 1, turn, sc across. 19 sts.

- Rows 12–17: ch 1, turn, sc across. 19 sts.
- Border: ch 1, sc evenly around the whole rectangle, placing 3 sc in each corner. FO with a long tail.
Center Window Bar
With honey gold yarn, surface sl st one vertical line down the center of each wall panel. Add one horizontal surface sl st line between the upper and lower openings. This gives each panel the window-pane look shown in the image.
Aqua Glass Inserts
- Cut 6 pale aqua mesh rectangles slightly larger than the open areas of the wall panels.
- Place the mesh behind each frame.
- Whipstitch around the frame edge using pale aqua thread or very thin yarn.
- Keep the fabric smooth, but do not pull so tightly that the frame curls.

Open Front Doors
Make 2 narrower door panels in honey gold. They sit open at the front and angle outward like the image.
- Ch 14.
- Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. 13 sts.

- Border: sc evenly around, placing 3 sc in each corner. FO.
Add aqua mesh behind each door. Sew one door to each side of the front opening. Attach only along the outer vertical edge so the doors remain open. Add a tiny brown French knot or small crocheted circle for each door handle.
Joining the Wall Ring
Arrange the 6 wall panels in a curved shape around the greenhouse floor, leaving a front opening for the doors. The panels should lean only slightly inward. Use honey gold yarn and whipstitch the vertical edges together.
- Place the first wall panel at the front left side.
- Add 5 more wall panels around the back and sides.
- Join each edge with 12–14 tight whipstitches.
- Sew the bottom of the wall ring to the honey gold rim of the greenhouse floor.
- Insert thin plastic canvas strips inside the vertical seams if the walls need extra support.
Greenhouse Roof Base Ring
Use mint yarn. This ring sits on top of the golden wall panels and supports the pointed roof.

Final Assembly and Facial Detailing
- Sew the greenhouse floor firmly to the center of the round garden base.
- Sew the joined wall ring to the floor, leaving the front opening centered on the stepping stone path.
- Attach the two doors so they open outward at about a 45-degree angle.
- Sew the roof ring to the top of the walls, then sew the roof panels to the ring.
- Add the large daisy to the roof peak and secure it through the center opening.
- Attach bees around the roof and arbor. Add butterflies to the roof and side panels.
- Sew the hanging lights around the upper wall frame.
- Place the tea table, mouse, frog, bunny, pond, flower beds, arbor, grass, mushroom, sign, watering can, basket, and crate.
- Pin every piece first. When the layout matches the image, sew each item firmly to the base.
- Embroider animal faces with small black stitches. Add pink cheek stitches if desired.
Care Notes
- Spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Do not machine wash because the greenhouse frame, mesh panels, and small sewn details may bend.
- Keep away from direct sunlight for long periods to protect the pale aqua and mint colors.
- Store upright in a dust-free display box when not in use.
Quick Checklist Before You Finish
- Greenhouse walls stand evenly and the front doors stay open.
- Roof ribs line up with the wall seams.
- Large daisy is centered at the roof peak.
- All bees, butterflies, lights, and flowers are sewn securely.
- Tea table pieces are attached so they will not fall off during display.
- Garden paths, pond, stepping stones, and flower beds are balanced around the base.
Detailed Cleaning and Preservation Guidelines
Use a soft makeup brush or clean paintbrush to remove dust from the roof, flowers, bees, and window frames. Brush gently in the direction of the stitches so the yarn fibers stay smooth.
If a small stain appears, dampen a white cloth with cool water and dab the area. Avoid rubbing the aqua mesh panels because they can stretch. Let the piece air dry completely before storing.
To preserve the greenhouse shape, place tissue paper inside the greenhouse when storing. Keep the roof supported and avoid stacking other items on top. This helps the tall walls, pointed roof, and delicate daisy topper remain neat.
